9 Chapter 9

Thankfully with how we all destroyed those extra sources of power for Dvalin, the storms had faded away, so we made quicker time back to Mondstadt.

As we walked into Mondstadt after turning in the horses we borrowed to the city guards I say Lumine and Paimon talking to the blacksmith that was right to the side of the city gate.

"Hey Lisa, you go on ahead, I would like to talk to Lumine and do some stuff around Mondstadt." I spoke.

Lisa nodded giving a short reply as she walked away with only a wave as she left. "Very well. But make sure you come to the Knights Headquarters to talk to Jean." I didnt even get a chance to say anything as Lisa powerwalked further into the city as Paimon noticed me and begin franticly waving and calling out to me.

"Heya Jake, you won't believe what we saw earlier!" Paimon gushed as she flew over to me and began pulling me over towards Lumine as she was seemingly haggling with the blacksmith seemingly oblivious to the world around her.

"Kid I don't sell magic crystals... Hell no one does, as no one can make them except for Sumeru in extremely small quantities." The blacksmith groaned to Lumine.

"Fine... I will just go find them out in the chest's scattered randomly in the world!" Lumine snarled and seemingly just noticing me, she grabbed my wrist and pulled me away with a glare within her eyes.

"Sooo... Why you so desperate for those weird magic crystals?" I asked a little bewildered as to how the normally unflappable Lumine looked to be so irritated.

"Lumine was about to push a huge number of magic crystals into her sword to strengthen it, but a Mita Churl which I was going to tell you about when I saw you, stole all her crystals somehow when Jean shot a tornado with a stab her sword all the crystals and Lumine's Mora, got put into the Mita Churls massive shield!" Paimon explained excitedly and Lumine literally seemed to mentally collapse as she slumped, laying her head onto the table, we took at a restaurant.

"What happened to the Mita Churls shield..." I groaned facepalming at the memories of dealing with those annoying as hell enemies. Like seriously if you didn't have someone able to use fire attacks or wind to throw a campfire's flames onto the wooden shield. They were infuriating with how they could block even the character's ultimate attacks.

"Well, the shield turned into an artifact of some sort somehow and began growing these long thorny vines on the wooden parts of the shield that would automatically attack people from a distance and then the metal parts of the shield turned into some kind of yellow crystal that made the Mita Churl itself much more resistant to damage."

Lumine began thumping her head on the hardwood table as Paimon continued to explain in an honestly dumbfounded manner. "Paimon doesn't know why but Jean and the knights who were watching the fight decided to claim the shield and gave Lumine a bunch of Mora to compensate for the losses, but the weird thing was how Jean said something about building some kind of bomb-proof door or something with the door?" Paimon shrugged helplessly obviously at a loss as to why the Knights needed some kind of super door.

But I knew the truth... Klee was the loli form of Megumin and had no problem being patient in order to consolidate resources in order to create the biggest bombs.

With how we were at the Good Hunter restaurant we all ordered some sticky honey roast and thankfully the good food seemed to perk Lumine right up after a few minutes.

"Lumine how do I use those crystals anyway?" I asked thinking about strengthening my saber as I certainly had no idea really how to maintain such a weapon, so my best bet was to simply keep upgrading it faster than it could deteriorate.

"Oh, Paimon knows! You got to have a bunch of Mora handy, which the magic within the Mora will activate the magic within the magic crystals and allow you to simply push the crystals into your weapon and make it stronger!" Paimon said proudly showing off her knowledge and Lumine nodded to her response, but hearing Paimon's seemed to make her sulk at the loss of all the crystals she had hoarded.

"Well in that case..." I muttered and then I carefully took out my saber laying it on the table along with a pile of Mora and several magical crystals.

Just as Paimon said, simply mentally focusing on the Mora made the coins glow and became a gentle golden light that merged into the magic crystals which I was able to simply push into my saber.

"Wow... That was easy." I smiled seeing how the magical crystal fused into my saber.

I offered Lumine a few of the crystals but she said she wanted to get her own and more importantly that Jean hadn't gotten her the money yet so she couldn't even use the crystals anyway.

"Alright, Lumine how about we just get ourselves some rooms at an Inn or a Hotel so we can get up early and go to the Knights Headquarters to meet with Jean."

Lumine nodded and after asking for some directions we found an Inn with an attached bathroom that we could pump out our own water out of the large lake surrounding Mondstadt and through some weird magical nonsense that they commissioned from Lisa, the water came out hot.

Which obviously made the rooms expensive. Although I had already had enough money having looted several chests on the way to and from the temple, the problem was the blushing blonde standing awkwardly beside me as we stood in front of the room I rented.

"Just go in! Paimon wants to sleep on a real bed!" Paimon groaned pushing the both of us into each other in surprise at Paimon's actions.

Getting a bit of space from Lumine I threw Paimon a look as Lumine already began stretching Paimon's cheeks making her cry out in pain as I entered the room and took in the queen size bed.

"Look the bed is huge. We can just put a couple of pillows between us and nothing will happen... Anyway I am jumping into the shower, I can smell a bit of the ocean on me..." I muttered at the end as despite using Anemo energy to dry it out after Lumine dragged me out of the Ocean when we got our powers. I could still smell the ocean on me.

After a quick shower and washing my clothes in said shower using my Anemo energy as some sort of super hair dryer, I walked out into the room in a t-shirt and shorts combo rather than my all-white suit.

"Woah you look so different out of the suit Jake!" Paimon pointed at me as she had already stolen a couple of pillows and were using them as a mattress.

I shrugged as I didn't really know what to say to that simply climbed into the bed as Lumine seemed to be sorting out her space pocket.

"Night Lumine... See you in the morning Emergency Rations." I muttered as I buried my face into the pillow.

"Hmm, I will take my own shower and go to sleep in a bit," Lumine said absently overriding Paimon's rebuttal as she put away the stuff she was sorting out and went into the bathroom.

"Hey, Jake... Are you going to peek?" Paimon asks with a weird tone to her voice after a couple of minutes of the water running.

I lifted my head from my pillow and threw a gimlet eye at the mischievous grinning Paimon. "How about no... I rather not get stabbed by her as well as not being ostracized in the Knights of Favonius for being some kind of pervert." I groaned.

"Oh yeah... All the leaders of the Knights are women basically." Paimon mumbled in thought as I mentally cursed at the knowledge that no matter what if I wanted to get involved with the plot. the majority of the characters were going to be women and I wouldn't have too many chances to make guy friends till Inazuma really.

I soon fell asleep to the noises of Lumine's shower as thankfully Paimon herself got bored of teasing me and fell asleep on her pillow mattress.
