24 A History of Survival

Winter has come and gone for the country of Marelirium, and it did not forget to pay a visit to the Marthan tribe. For two months, snow feel, the temperature dropped, and people stuck by their hearths to stay warm. The monarchy prepared well for the season this time, and it passed as comfortably as winter could get. 

And people did not forget to find joy amid the cold. Snow fights, snow men, snow angels, and other snow events were held by the villagers for as long as they could still bear the cold. When they were pushed indoors by the low temperature, they boiled hot chocolate and toasted mallows, and the elders sang the old songs of the land to the eager children who are huddled on the floor.

There was, one place, and one person, however, who was not able to revel in the events of winter.
