1 Is Your Story Sad Enough To Make A Slime Cry?

Inside of a fortified tower, sat a green slime. He was on a small pillow, that was on top of what seemed like a throne. He had a table in front of him that held a crystal ball on top of it. Once in a while, out of boredom the slime would jump off of its pillow and take a look outside. He would be filled with immediate disappointment however since there was nothing but the infinite void outside of the tower.

A pillar of light started to form in front of his table, and the slime immediately jumped with excitement and enthusiasm onto his pillow. He had been assigned to watch over souls that appeared in the void, by W. Souls in the void were not bad however. They only would appear in the void because in their lifetime, they had never been given the chance to do something that swayed their karma to a good or bad side. That did not mean every soul in the void was a good person either, since many souls lived in a time when they could never act upon their evil intentions, without facing severe consequences.

All the souls that appeared in the void would be given a chance to show their true characters in the form of reincarnating to another world. If the souls that were to be reincarnated had wishes their guides, the slime in this case, could grant them their wish or wishes. This was very rare however, since guides weren't obligated to grant wishes and would only do that if they wanted to.

The pillar of light slowly condensed into the form of a human. Seeing this the slime quickly pulled out a book, from inside of him, and looked through it to see that the shape of whatever that was in front of him was a human. If slimes could sit up straight and smile, then what the slime was doing currently was just that.

"Hello human, you are here because you..."

"Yeah, yeah I know. Just reincarnate me into a body that has no limits. And, ah Oh! Make me like really hot and have a magnum dong! I can't wait to get all the hot chicks huehahue!"

The slime was speechless. The excitement and thrill he had when the pillar of light formed, was completely gone. He was offended at the human interrupting him and filled with disgust at his last demand.

The human mistook the slime's astonishment at his disgusting demand and rude nature, for someone that was surprised and shock at how he already knew everything.

"Yeah, I know I'm impressive, just hurry up man I'm too excited!"

The slime face-palmed internally. The demand of having no limits was almost as stupid as his second demand, since the world that souls were reincarnated into all had no limits in general. The slime thought to himself of what he might do with this human. He thought to reincarnate the human as a horse, he laughed at this idea and quickly pushed it aside, he didn't want to do this however since it was more efficient to just send this human to a world filled with creatures, humans, and beings that weren't much different from him. In this story there was no hell or heaven, only places filled with either really good people or the opposite.

The human had a smile, that resembled that of a villain, and slight giggles that he tried to keep in desperately, escaped him. The slime sighed to himself and quickly sent him to a world that he would "fit" into and released a heavy sigh as the human disappeared.

"Surely not everyone in the void will be this way. It's better to set the bar low so anything that comes afterwards isn't any worse, I guess..." he thought to himself.

He would find himself very wrong as time went on. He would be interrupted, insulted, and find himself in awkward situations that made him want to be absorbed into the pillow he was sitting on. At one point someone had asked him for the death of a being that they didn't like, and not too long after that, he had been asked to perform sexual acts that made his whole body cringe.

When a new pillar of light formed in front of his table again, the slime tried his hardest to sit up with a good posture and smile. He ultimately failed, and looked like jello that was close to melting. He so far had no good encounters with any souls, and didn't expect much from the new pillar that was forming in front of him. He had many times hoped for a normal soul to appear in front of him, only to have that hope fall down faster than anything that gravity could pull down.

As the pillar of light condensed down into a human. The slime started to introduce himself, expecting to be interrupted, he stopped where he was interrupted the most.

"Hello human, you are here because you..."

For a moment the room was filled with silence.

"Huh? Mister is something wrong, why did you stop talking... and where are you?

The human was confused at where the voice came from, as he couldn't see any humans anywhere. The slime, who had been slouched into his pillow, sat up straight and with pride he spoke,

"I am one of the guides who guide souls to their after life, after lives."

...

The human looked around confused and he faced where he thought the voice came from. An awkward silence filled the room as both of them did not know what to do in this situation. The slime quickly activated the crystal ball in front of him and released a "huh" as all of his questions were answered. The human had come from a time on Earth when fantasy stories about reincarnation and anything like that weren't popular, and or did not even exist at all.

The slime coughed and spoke up with a loud voice, "I am a slime, creatures like me did not exist in your world, and you were brought here because in your lifetime you never had the chance to sway your karma to a side that would decide your fate in your after life. You can either choose to simply be deleted from existence, or be reincarnated again to show your real self... if you have any questions I can answer them for you!"

The slime felt like he had just been freed from an eternity of suffering, and spoke to the human with a soothing voice that would be able to calm storms. The slime was not at all annoyed by the humans lack of knowledge, since it was the job of guides to guide the clueless after all.

The human thought back on his life, as the realization that he was dead struck him like thunder. Tears fell down his face as he started sobbing. The slime was shocked at this development, and quickly activated the crystal ball again to see the story of the human in front of him. He was filled with sadness and pity for the human in front of him as visions of the human's life flashed through his mind. If slimes could cry, then the slime would be crying right now.

The human slowly calmed down and sniffed as he quickly dried off his face. His voice cracked as he said, "Yes, if I can be given a chance at life... I will gladly take it."

The slime calmed himself down, and tried to the best of his ability to sound normal as he said, "If you have any wishes I can grant them for you."

His effort was for naught, as his voice slightly quivered. What the slime had gone through just now was the equivalent of marathoning your favorite show, that had characters that you genuinely cared for, and it ended with the main cast being massacred.

The humans eyes flashed with determination as he said, "I want to be smart!"

"Then I will make you as smart as my powers allow me to. Is that all?" the slime said this with what seemed like a smile, as he expected an answer like this.

"Yes"

"Then I shall reincarnate you now human."

A cute chibi hand formed, from the side of the slime, as the slime snapped. The human standing in front of him was consumed by a pillar of light and vanished. The slime was left alone in the room, and he let out a quiet sob, "How can such evil things happen in such a peaceful world? By the hands of one's own species at that matter?"

The slime forced himself to quickly move on as a new pillar of light formed in front of his table. He would again find himself in the same situation he was before, with rude souls and an abundance of awkward and painful moments. The human whose story made the slime cry, however, what happened to him after could not be summed up in a short sentence...
