The Chosen 5's New Objective!

Damon returned with Fred, he was glad that he was able to get him away safely but he didn't know the effects of the brainwashing that had occurred so he did well to keep him away from the rest of the group until he did a personal assessment.

Daon knew the threat Fred posed and didn't want to believe that he was still under the effect of Thanatos' ability as it should naturally dispel due to distance, shouldn't it?

"How are you feeling?" Damon brought him to his house, Damon's house was similar to that of the average citizen and this surprised Fred because he expected him to be living a lot more comfortably.

"I have a headache but apart from that, I'm fine…" Fred responded as he was resting on the couch. He looked exhausted and his body ached with each passing second.

This was expected considering the kind of night he had, the stress levels and migraines were at an all-time high. It was almost like he had a hangover but he was relieved to be alive.

"Hahaha! That is to be expected!" Damon was relieved because Fred seemed like himself and now was the time to try and get information out of him.

"Fred, what happened to you?" Damon asked bluntly.

"I was ambushed by a girl and the rest went black. I cannot remember what happened after that, all I know is I found myself awake here." Fred said and this was similar to what he said earlier.

Damon knew it was best not to press him otherwise it might do more harm than good.

"I don't know what is going on but if I get the son of a bitch that did this to me. I will fucking kill him!" Fred cussed out but the fact that he lost woefully implied that these were just words.

He was allowed to be angry but he couldn't even defeat Gina and Thanatos had the restriction placed on him removed.

He was stronger than ever and right now, no one could even pose a threat to him but this was the case for those that were not as experienced or powerful as him.

"You looked shocked last night, are you alright boss?" Fred asked Damon.

"My power takes a toll on my body and I exhausted myself last night," Damon said but this made Fred hang his head in shame.

"I'm sorry, it is because of me," Fred said and Damon chuckled the moment he heard this.

"I didn't do proper research, I should have known that there would be more dangerous people involved once the Razor Riddler was mentioned. But only your power could get the information needed," Damon apologized.

"You weren't the only one hit… Edward was attacked as well," Damon said and Fred looked guilty because he was the one that allowed Edward to go back home alone.

He didn't know why he was so careless, they shouldn't have split after undergoing such a dangerous mission and maybe, just maybe they would have stood a chance.

"Is he okay?" Fred asked and Damon nodded.

"I should probably check in with him…" Damon said and the moment he said this, his phone rang,

"That's strange, it is from the hospital," Damon said before picking up the phone and it didn't take five minutes for his face to change to that of despair.

He couldn't believe that they just reported that Edward was gone, the conversation was short.

"What is wrong Damon?" Fred asked as Damon's phone slipped from his hand.

"E-Edward is missing!" Damon muttered.

Ethan walked into Percepta headquarters and everyone looked wary of him but no one approached him because they knew he was in a foul mood.

For the first time in a very long time, Apex Protector had called a meeting of the Chosen 5.

Naomi couldn't stop him and she didn't bother telling the company about what Ethan did because she knew that might aggravate him so she buried everything under the carpet because Ethan was the merchandise that they couldn't afford to lose.

This gave him certain privileges that the others couldn't hope to enjoy.

Ethan walked right into the room and all the members were present except one.

Chloe, Righteous Executioner, Israel (the hero in a lion costume), and an unknown person that had a stern look on his face. A look that everyone was used to by now, Apex Protector was a man that truly believed in justice and he no longer had any interest in becoming a pawn.

"Where is Deus?" Nathan asked but the other members kept quiet.

Deus was the only person that dared reject the call of Ethan because, unlike the rest, Ethan seemed to not mind this as he only tolerated such behaviour from him.

"Apex Protector, what is the purpose of this meeting?" A dark-skinned African-American man asked, he had on casual clothing implying he wasn't in uniform, unlike the rest of his colleagues.

He had the tattoo of a scorpion around the left side of his neck, his black hair styled in a neat buzzcut. He went by the name Sango, a fitting name for his power as this was an African God that could control thunder and lightning.

Apex Protector sat at the chair at the end of the table, he was the one that led these individuals and Chloe known as Wonder Vixen was in uniform.

She had on a uniform that was a pitch-black bodysuit with the American flag emblem on the chest. She had grey bracelets on her wrists and she wore high heels.

One could mistake her for a Dominatrix.

"I have a new task for you all…" Ethan said sternly, and everyone's attention peaked because Ethan had never given them a general task.

Ethan always allowed them to act freely but not anymore, now Ethan had a goal he wanted to accomplish.

"What is this mission?" Sango asked and Ethan threw his feet across the table.

"It is time to hunt the Four Kings of The Underworld,"
