23 The Trespasser

"You!" Freyja snarled.

If looks could kill, Ye Han would have celebrated his 1st death anniversary by now. She wanted to tear Ye Han in to shred and blast his remains back to kingdom come. Still immersed in her anger, she heard a rather loud snicker coming from her two opponents. The two men were currently doing their best to hold back their laughter. This further infuriated Freyja and with a huff went to the instructor.

"What do you want?"

"Sir! This battle is clearly over. I demand to forfeit this match."

The instructor snorted in response then gave a terrifying smile and leaned his head closer to Freyja's face, intimidating her. "Didn't you hear me? My instructions were that only members inside the ring are allowed to call in surrender. And clearly, you are out of the ring. Any questions?"

The pale-faced girl had no other choice but to back down and stare daggers at Ye Han.

In actuality, that rule did not exist until now. The instructor straight up made the rule just to screw over with the overconfident girl.

Without an outlet for her scorching rage, poor Ye Han took the full brunt of it.

"Ye Han, surrender this instant or else I'll break your legs!"

"Blah blah blah. I'm not listening. La la la."

Ye Han, instead of listening to the scalding hot threats coming from the girl opted to cover his ears and pretend she did not exist.

This became the final straw and finally, everybody burst out laughing. Some were on the floor kneeling, while others are on their back clutching their stomachs. His two opponents were gasping so hard that it looked they were having an asthma attack.

Everyone found it hilarious. And seeing the embarrassed face of Freyja brought no guilt to them. The others were a bit mindful and only laughed a little. But it was undeniably funny that even the instructor has his face contorted which made him even scarier.

Feeling all the insults directed at her, Freyja eventually snapped. She walked out of the gym, her cheeks puffed out and her eyes on the verge of tears.

When Ye Han opened his eyes, he was able to see the teary eyes Freyja walking out of the gym. He found her current expression cute.

It was when Freyja was out of the gym did the laughter eventually stopped. But some stray giggles were still heard.

"I'm going to get killed, right?"

Of course, definitely. No doubt about that.

"Yeah, definitely."

"But you don't have to worry, fights, especially amongst students, are settled through a duel. In which case would need the consent of both participants. So if she ever beat you up, you'll be protected. Considering you still survive."

"I'm very thankful for that." He said sarcastically.

"So what's going to happen now?"

Ye Han looked at them in a confused manner.

"I don't really know. Maybe I should surrender."

"That's a good idea." His opponents said in agreement.

"I surrender." Ye Han said raising his hand.

*clap clap*

"That's it for today. Class dismissed."

As soon as the announcement came, the student hurriedly went to their respective lockers to get changed. Everybody left, and Ye Han was the only one remaining.

Making sure that nobody was left inside, he slowly walked towards a board attached to the wall. Posted on it is a complete schedule of classes of all sections. And it looks like he has free time for the next 3 hours. Or so he thought.

"Time to head to my fortress."

This so-called fortress was a hidden place laced with cushion mats that he uses as his sleeping lounge. It was well hidden. And since he was the one created it, he was the only individual in school who knew of the location.

It was not only one he created. There are other several fortresses scattered throughout the school which also come in different forms. All of those were his sleeping lounge when he decides to skip classes, aside from the infirmary. How he accomplished the act is only something he will know.

"I shouldn't have blown all of my cash on that VR sham." He sighed dejectedly. "Heh, who cares? Let's see. It's somewhere here and..... found it!"

Hidden underneath the pile of various gym equipment is an inconspicuous looking door.

"?!"

The shock of the hour is courtesy of a sleeping child inside his fortress. A little girl no more than 9 years old is snugly sleeping inside.

"What the-"

Ye Han was left there wondering. A child, not even a teen or adult was able to find and enter his "fortress" and left no marks of entry. Another thing that baffled him is the fact that someone let a child enter the school or the guardian of the child left her for granted.

"The fortress has been compromised, eliminating witnesses. Sorry girl, don't blame me blame your curiosity."

Without hesitation, he threw the sleeping girl over an opened window. He did this with no regard for her life.

*crash*

Satisfied with the loud crash, he proceeded to lie down and sleep for the next 3 hours.

***

3 Hours later.

Ye Han woke up to the shuffling right at his chest. Opening his eyes, he found the very same kid he had thrown off the window hugging his chest. The girl remained blissfully sleeping with no care to the world. She would often let out purrs of satisfaction from time to time.

"She's still here?"

Ye Han resisted the urge to throw her again. Instead, he chose a relatively peaceful solution.

"Hey, kid." He softly slapped her cheeks.

"Wake up." The girl released a cute moan, annoyed with the one disturbing her peaceful slumber.

"I said wake up."

Ye Han kept on tapping her cheeks until it became slightly red. Slowly the girl's eyes opened and she directed a displeased pout at him.

"You're awake now." He declared. "I don't know how you found this place but let me tell you, you're trespassing someone's territory. It's illegal, and don't assume that since you're a kid I won't sue you. But I have a deal for you."

The girl glanced at him with curiosity.

"I'll let you inside my fortress. But in exchange, you won't tell anybody about the location. Understand?"

The scene might be adorable to others. But, Ye Han's tone sounded like a dirty businessman offering some shady deals to unsuspecting customers.

Whether the girl understood his message or not, Ye Han was dead serious on protecting the privacy of his fortress.

The girl bobbed her head in agreement or for something else entirely.

Satisfied with her response he offered her his hand.

"Nice doing business with you."

Without missing a beat, the girl also clutched his hand and sealed the agreement.

This historic moment signified the day that the Covenant was formed. But it would be told later. For now, the two "fortress-mates" were oblivious to a certain Doctor spying on them.

"Awwwwwwwww, they look so cute."
