13 A Lunch With Her

Ye Han closed his eyes in bliss. Sipping a mango smoothie is really working wonders on him. While his blank look remained, one cannot help but notice his very happy expression painted on his eyes. This also did not escape Alice, the one who just bought him the drink. 'He looks so happy…. Cute. Wait, what am I saying?!' She mentally slapped herself for thinking that.

The two walked around the campus and Ye Han proved to be a rather good guide. He showed her around the campus. Introduced some of the buildings and places. Ye Han provided clear and apt information regarding the school. The way he delivered it seem to be too professional for her taste. It was as if he was doing it out of duty not because he was eager. And she has a big hunch that it was because he was trying to look good so that he could have a good reward from her, namely food.

It was lunch break when they were finished with the tour. She found it to be, informative. And as soon as they entered the canteen, Ye Han's attitude change. He was more accommodating and respectful to her. He treated her like some sort of deity. His butler-like attitude somehow unnerved the transfer student. 'Just how much did he starved?!'

Seeing him like this, Alice had no choice but to give him what he deserved, a sumptuous feast. She did not mind the expenses, she's rich anyway. Now, seeing him sip the smoothie in bliss made her recall their conversation earlier.

***

3 hours earlier.

"When was the last time did you eat?" Ye Han and Alice are currently in front of a statue near the school gate.

"I don't know." The boy responded. Alice was not even surprised anymore. Hearing his stomach growl every 5 minutes made her pity him.

"Should we eat first? You really need something inside that tummy of yours." She tried persuading Ye Han to eat. The growls are becoming unbearable for her as the minutes pass by.

"No can do!" He protested. "I must first provide you with a thorough trip around the campus." His replies were very much alike of what her butlers would say. 'He seems to be eager to provide services. How loya- wait!'

"What happens if I don't give you food?"

When that question came out of her mouth, she could visibly see his subservient expression crack. "That would make you a bad person, madam. And I would take you somewhere very unfamiliar and leave you there by yourself."

Hearing his vicious remark reaffirmed her thoughts about him. 'Yep, he's doing it for the reward.'

For someone to treat her like was something she was used to. But for him to threaten her, that was surprising. As the direct descendant of the Spear Immortal, she was already used to others treating her very well. Although those people seem to be respectful but deep inside they were just doing it for her status. Ye Han's attitude was somehow of a fresh experience for her. And if she did not really provide food for him, there's no doubt he would dump her somewhere unfamiliar. He will do it, no hesitations.

'Maybe it was a good choice transferring here? Those private tutors hired by gramps are too unpleasant for my taste.' She thought.

But her thoughts were interrupted by someone, loud.

"TRAITOR!!"

The voice sounded distressed and outraged.

Turning her attention towards the source she found a blonde boy looking at Ye Han with obvious malice on his eyes. The boy immediately rushed towards their table choking Ye Han. Alice wanted to separate the two but found that Ye Han seemed to ignore someone choking him.

"How could you betray the alliance?!" He exclaimed.

But despite the boy's outburst, Ye Han maintained the blank look on his face. "I did not violate any rules. I plead not guilty."

"Hmph, your trial shall await, traitor." With one final huff, the blonde boy turned his attention towards Alice who was having a hard time processing what's happening. "The name's David, nice to meet you." David stretched out his arms.

Alice reluctantly accepted the gesture and shook hands with him. "Alice Huang, a pleasure to meet you."

After the rather awkward handshake, for Alice's part mostly they finally settled on finishing their food. With one final sip, Ye Han finished his mango smoothie. He stood up and waved goodbye to Alice.

"Where are you going?" David asked as he chewed on a piece of meat.

"To the infirmary."

With that Ye Han finally went away leaving Alice and David sitting by the table. "So how was his tour?" He asked.

"It was, informative." She replied.

"So you offered him something huh."

"How did you know?"

"Well it is a well-known fact in class F. Ye Han will do anything for a reward," David replied as he sips on his juice.

"Ye Han said that he volunteers in the infirmary, is this true?"

"YES!" David shouted, shocking Alice. "That lucky bastard is lounging inside the infirmary with miss Rose! How envious." He said grinding his teeth.

"Rose is the name of the school nurse?"

"Yeah, don't worry. You'll get familiar with the staff. Although the institution is massive only the best of the best are enrolled here. And so is the staff. You'll probably be familiar with them. But I still wonder how Ye Han was able to enroll here." David wiped his mouth with a napkin.

"What do you mean?"

"Forget what I just said haha. I'll introduce you to everyone. We have a free schedule, so plenty of time to be familiar with your classmates."

"Thanks."

The two finally went to their classroom. While on their way, David asked why she transferred. "I just want to."

David was dumbstruck of her answer though. She did not expect to answer him like that. 'Rich Kids. Tsk tsk.'

They walked for 5 minutes before reaching their classroom. As they entered inside David immediately went towards the center. "Please behave yourselves. And welcome the newcomer." The room instantly erupted into cheers with people clapping and sending greetings to her. Seeing their warm welcome made her heart all fuzzy. 'I knew going to school was a good idea!'
