29 New element

Pepper looked at me in shock Tony sighed. I continued" I have identified palladium inside this, a very clever choice, but that is only if it is used on machines. If it is used inside a body then it will only poison said body. And you seem to already know that, Mr Stark.

I have quickly searched for solutions, but the usage of another element is impossible. So that leaves only one solution." Tony looked at me stunned from my last statement but had other matters at hand. He turned to Pepper and said" Listen Pepps, I…"

Pepper interrupted him" Since when did you know?" Tony tried to explain" Listen Pepps, I…" But he still got cut"When?!" Tony grumbled" Since the beginning." Pepper's eyes widened in anger but before she could explode I said" Hum miss Potts, there is no need to be angry…"

She turned to look at me and damned she is scary. I smiled awkwardly and said" Well first Mr Stark still has 7, no maybe 10 years in front of him. Moreover, like I said before there is a solution. And once the palladium has been taken out then a simple cure of his body… Well not simple but I can do it… I digress, A cure and then every side effects will disappear and he will live as long as before."

Tony and Pepper looked at me in astonishment, and they both asked" There is a way?" I nodded and said" Yes there is, and I know it's possible, only that it is difficult." Tony shook his head and said" No that's impossible, I already tested with every other elements, none of them can create enough energy."

I nodded with a big smile on my face and replied" Exactly! That's why it leaves one solution, to create a new element!" I was quite excited by this because this was something entirely impossible in my old world, but here it is possible.

They both looked at me shocked, but after a few seconds they did not speak so I asked" Is there a problem?" Stark shook his head and said" You sound fanatical, are you going to make this tower explode?"

I rolled my eyes and said" Such a party pooper..." Tony smiled and said" Great irony, but let's come back to that idea of yours. I tell you, it's impossible to create a new element." I shook my head and said" Of course it's possible, nothing is impossible Mr Stark."

I narrowed my eyes and said" Of course if you are afraid and don't have the guts to try then there is another way…" Stark rolled his eyes and said" I'm not an idiot you won't manipulate me like that. Tell me, what is the other way?"

I cleared my throat, ignoring my failure and said" Miss Potts, can you guess the answer? You already have all the piece, you only need to finish the puzzle." She frowned and began thinking, so instead of idly waiting I turned to Tony and asked" Waiting for her to find the answer, tell me, did I pass? Because if I don't I have a lot of things to say."

Tony shook his head and said" No it's fine, I believe you. I will call you, we will talk later about what you will do once in the company." I nodded and asked" So Boss, what is it to be Iron Man?"

Tony scoffed and said" Don't feign being interested." I smiled and replied" No I'm really curious, how do you feel?" Tony scrutinized me and eventually said" Noting special, it's not like I do a lot of things as Iron Man."

I nodded and kept silent. Suddenly Pepper exclaimed" I know!" She looked at Tony and said" You just said that if no other element can be used that is because they will not bring enough energy. But that is only using fission!"

Tony rolled his eyes and said" Yes Pepper, what do you want to use? Fission is the best way to make energy." Pepper nodded and said" But the thing is that if I was adamant in giving Mr Tunt it is because he is currently working on a project that would here be very useful."

She turned to me and said" Could you please explain to him your project, I'm afraid to forget something." I nodded and turned to Tony" You see before coming here I was working at Oscorp but got fired for a petty reason…"

Tony interrupted me" Why did you get fired?" I made an embarrassed smile and said" Nothing important really…" He turned to Pepper and asked" I'm sure you know the reason." Pepper smiled too but looked at me uncertain.

Tony grumbled and said" It's alright I already gave him the job, he can't get away now." She smiled and said" His new boss, Harry Osborn, was jealous of the attention our friend here was getting from Norman, and thus fired him."

Tony laughed hard hearing that. I rolled my eyes and said" Sure have fun, but how did you know that?" Pepper smiled and asked" You didn't know? Someone heard him firing you, and told other people. Soon everyone knew but didn't pay much attention, but when people learned what you are working on, everyone was shocked.

Now that you have accepted working here, I can tell you that every company wants you. You may not know it but may it be the Chinese, the French, the English, the German… Everyone wants you. You are intelligent, do you think I audition every scientist coming? Although Mr Stark being here is really a coincidence."

I sighed and said" Then I will tell you know, once I successfully creates my mini sun I don't want it to be monopolized by only Stark ind. I want the company to share it with the rest of humanity." But before she could say anything I added with a wink" Of course you can ask somethings to them in exchange."

Pepper smiled and Tony asked" Mini sun?" I turned to him and nodded" Exactly, that is my project. My goal is to recreate a miniature sun, and thus find a way to make fusion happen. I have already advanced a lot in this project, and I think that a year or two will be enough to finalize this. This sun would produce an enormous amount of energy for a very long time, like a real sun, be the key to fusion, the produced energy would be clean energy, and in the end of it's life the sun wouldn't shatter on itself and create a nebula."

Tony frowned and asked" What will happen then?" I smiled and replied" The Sun would explode, literally, but only in energy. What I mean is that there will not be any real explosion like a grenade, but a huge wave of energy. If left unattended then the energy produced would destroy everything in it's surroundings and be worse than a nuclear bomb. But if used wisely then this could help create another sun. Then this would repeat in cycle."

That is the reason why I now say that this project is mine. Even when finished, in the original universe the mini sun would be imperfect. Without talking of the breach of security, Otto didn't even knew how to extinguish it. Moreover his version costed so much money, and he would have to create another one every 3 years. This was still beneficial, but mine is way better.

I would only have to create one sun, and then I will never have to change it. Of course I will still have to build different ones. Honestly I could totally create it right now, I know how to. The only thing left for me to do is to create a huge amount of energy, using fission, and adding that to my results then I could create the mini sun.

But the reason I don't it is that there are still dangers. I still need to create different machines that would contain the sun, another one to absorb the energy, another to convert it… And many more things, and finally I still have to find how to make sure that the energy blast from the death of the sun will be used as I want and create another one.

Tony looked at me impressed and said" How old are you kid?" I shrugged and said"16, why?" Tony smiled and said" Brilliant." Weird. I turned to Pepper and she said" Thank you for coming today Mason, I hope you will have a pleasant experience here."

I nodded to her and Tony in farewell and headed to the door. But Tony walked toward me and said" Wait for me kid." I stopped and looked at him coming toward me. He patted my shoulder and said" Come."

We headed to the elevator and once inside he said" Do you have anything important to do?" I nodded and said" I have a dinner at my place tonight, so I have to be there at 8pm, I think."

Tony nodded and said" Wonderful. So until then you aren't busy." I shook my head and he said" Then come with me, I need to show you something." Well I really have nothing to do so I might as well come.

We arrived in the basement, a giant parking for the employees and walked toward Tony's car. A beautiful, attention seeking red Lamborghini. I recognized this as one of the latest models, as expected of Tony Stark.

We got in and as he started the car he said" Kid, tell me about that cure of yours, I am curious." I smiled and said" You can call me Mason you know." Tony turned his head and said" Then don't call me Boss, it give me the creeps. Call me Tony."

I nodded and said" Well then Tony, like I said earlier this day I specialize in mechanics, but I am good at other things too. One of those things is medicine. You know both my parents are surgeons, and as a kid I couldn't stand other kids so I read a lot. Most of the books at home are about medicine so here I am."

This was something true. Before I met Peter, all the kids seemed pretty dumb. Well this is what you get into reincarnating into a baby. Until 13 all the other kids were just kids to me, so I most of the day I would just read.

But of course my level in medicine was already high in my previous life, but my childhood helped it. As for the cure to the Palladium, I don't really have it. The thing is that in my previous life I had created a remedy to a certain disease which possess symptoms that look a lot like those of Palladium poisoning. So I will only have to change it a little bit and the cure would be made. This is a really minor change and it would only take me a day to do it, so I may as well say that I already know how to do it.

Tony nodded and said" So how does this cure work? Because in the past I had already asked to the best doctors in the world, in case I found how to change the Palladium, but they are still searching and still haven't found anything."

I shrugged and said" I'm just better than them." He laughed and as I was about to tell him about the cure to the other disease and how I changed it to cure Palladium poisoning, we stopped at a red light, and we got surrounded.

More seriously we stopped next to a restaurant, and unfortunately for us people recognized Tony, and paparazzi came out of nowhere, blinding us with flashes from all the pictures. Many fans came to the car and asked autographs from Tony.

Tony smiled and said" Sorry but I can't do that right now. As you can see I am only waiting for the light to turn green, and I am not alone." As for me I was shocked to see how they swarmed us. Even in my old world if people saw a car with a celebrity inside they would point it out and maybe take a picture, but that would be it.

It seems I have underestimated the popularity of heroes here.
