8 Hermes

I nodded excited and said before heading to my lab" I will not disappoint you. I believe the two of us will soon be equals." Otto froze, and then said smiling" It is good to have ambition. I hope you will achieve that. Your instructions are all in the computer inside the lab. Here are the username and password."

He quickly wrote both on a paper and handed it to me. I headed to my new lab and examined it. The tech here was way better than what I had in the hangar, but I wouldn't be able to create things for my other job here, I will need to wait until I get a laboratory for my use only.

I turned on the PC and after accessing to my instructions I was overjoyed by what I saw. The entirety of the data was separated between several categories, for example there was a file named Energy then every work about the energy sector in Oscorp would be put on it, only that to access certain things you would need an allowance, either brought by being ahead of that person or by a password.

That means once I get my AI I will have access to the work of everyone in the energy sector, and if I can go to other sections then I will be able t steal theirs too. Moreover the Oz formula was not even kept as a secret, it was on the file called "MIX".

That fill was gathering everything about the 36th floor's researches, as well as their results. This simplified every plans I made by a huge margin. Now I will stay with Otto in the energy sector and after proving myself I will help him personally about his project.

That will certainly entice Norman's look and he will want me to work on his Oz formula. I will then be able to steal the formula and enhance it until I destroy any after effect and inject myself with it. But mt main problem is that I don't know how much time I have left.

But at the same time I will have to make sure I don't let them get the right formula. The reason is that if they succeed then it will go to the military, and that would only bring destruction. If everyone has access to it then chaos will come along.

The only good way would be that everyone in the world, every inhabitants of the earth could get the Oz formula, but if only some people get it then discrimination will ensue. Rich people will get it, poor people will not.

That could potentially bring the people unable to get it to revolt themselves. Then protests, fights and chaos will be present everywhere on earth. So I can't let them achieve this. The only sad thing is that Norman will have to be sacrificed.

I stopped thinking about the dark future and began to read my instructions. As it was my first day, they were making me do simple things. I would mainly help others and assist them as I will have to make the experiments they don't have the time to do and send them the results.

For example coworker A is working on substituting fuel by alga. He will work on the main theory but he will need to search if alga can be produced fast enough to implement his idea. The thing is that he is already working on something else.

Thus he will put his problem on the database as a common document that everyone can access and wait for someone to complete it. That someone is me today. Of course I am not the only one doing this.

Other than that there will be a reunion every Saturday, and everyone on the floor will be present to do a brainstorming and assign everyone to their projects. And once per month a big reunion will be held gathering everyone in the section.

Our floor is currently dealing with replacing fission by fusing. Otto is working on creating a miniature sun to use as a source of energy, but he isn't working alone. In most cases section heads wouldn't be floor heads at the same time as they work on their own things.

But Otto's project is a big one, and he can't work on it alone. Thus everyone on floor 34 and 35, led by himself and his wife are working on this.

As for replacing fission by fusion, it is the main objective. It is not even something done in my previous world despite being more advanced than this world by twenty years.

But in my previous world I was by far the most intelligent man and could not be helped by others because they weren't good enough. But in this world there are several minds as great as mind, and added to the changed physics laws it is easier to do.

Fission is what is used in nuclear centers to make energy. It is already a great way to do it. But there is something even better, fusion. This is something that is naturally happening inside the sun. However we don't know how to do it by ourselves.

If Otto's final project is a miniature sun it because only then will he be able to make fusion. The thing is that fusion produces ten times more energy than fission, and that would of course be a big jump in science.

But I have other uses for it. When Tony Stark comes back as Iron man he will have invented the arc reactor, another incredible source of energy. I will reverse engineer it and then try to fuse both to make a final product with an astronomical energy output.

This project would be one of the keys to space travel if I were to share it. Finally I had a final instruction unique to me. Because I will only be able to come working on week-ends and during vacations I will have to find at least one idea until Saturday.

But that wasn't a problem as I already had a lot of them from my previous life, and once I see the works of my coworkers I will be able to find even more ideas to ameliorate their work. After all only huge projects need a password, most of my coworker's work can be seen.

After that I began reading through everything and selected one task that had already been there for a month, something abnormal here as most tasks would be finished within three days. This was a hard task, but for me it was a very easy thing to.

By the end of the day I had already finished everything about the task that others could not succeed in. I wrote everyone of my results and sent it to the sender. I did not wait for his answer as it was already 8pm and most had already went home.

I got out of my lab and as I was putting my blouse in my bag and taking my stuff, I suddenly felt an alarm from my spider sense. Even if it had upgraded my observation haki it hadn't disappeared, and unlike the observation haki it was activated at all times so it still was very useful.

As I felt my alarm I found it strange as I couldn't sense where the danger was coming from. I activated my observation haki and understood what was happening. It wasn't danger but someone with telepathic skills locating me, probably professor X.

I frowned as I didn't want to speak with him now, I was too busy to deal with the X-men. I could just keep myself immune to his skills using observation haki, but that would only delay the matter. I decided I needed to make myself clear.

I focused on the mind nearing me, and sent a powerful wave of conqueror's haki. The presence immediately disappeared. I smiled contently and began walking out, but felt it once again. I sighed and let it come, but only enough to hold a conversation.

I suddenly heard a man's voice" You sure are hard to talk to. May I know who you are?" I snorted and replied" You should present yourself before asking for others identities."

The other side smiled, I could feel it, and replied" I am the Professor Charles Xavier, and I am the head of a school that is helping special people like you, and I." I nodded, knowing he would feel it too, and replied" I am Mason Tunt, 16 years old, student but working at Oscorp."

Professor X asked" Would you like to come to my school to learn to control your powers, or teach others to do it as you seem to already have gotten them under control." I replied" I don't have the time right now, and I don't think I will join in the future either, I am a very busy man. But I will come by and teach other mutants in the future if there is any interesting one."

Professor X sighed and said" It is a pity, I hope we will be able to meet each other sooner rather than later." After this I cut the call and began walking toward the elevator again. But on the way I saw Otto has fallen asleep in front of his computer in his lab.

I hesitated but decided I shouldn't get in his lab without his agreement, that would be disrespectful of me. After that I got to my car and headed home.

Once there I checked with my haki to see if my parents had returned, but I the house was empty. I quickly went to the kitchen after getting in, and made myself a quick meal.

I then spent most of my night working on my AI, but I still got some sleep. My parents had both gotten home late, at 9 pm, but they liked their job so they weren't complaining much.

The rest of the week went by quickly, I started getting out again Thursday night as I finally finished my personal AI, that I named Hermes. It had a male voice and was coming in handy. I hadn't just created a Hermes, along with it come other things.

First it is now connected to my mask through the glasses in front of my eyes and the ear pieces, providing me with the location of crime scenes after filtering through the police's radio. It could hack into almost anything easily, and had the entire internet as a database.

I could ask or just look through my mask at anything for Hermes to explain to me what or who it is, and all useful information about it.

Another important thing is that New-York finally got another hero, Spider Man, only that he fights crime in pajamas. But I knew that with time he would get better.

But now was the time for the weekly reunion at work, and I will need to make an impression on everyone present right from the start.

I was walking through the corridors of Oscorp and finally arrived in front of two closed doors on the fourth floor. I opened those and saw a room filled with people. I was surprised and looked at the time, thinking I was late, but was surprised to find I was even early.

As soon as I got in everyone stopped talking and looked at me. I froze looking at them, and felt and hand on my shoulder. I turned to look at Otto who was smiling at me. I asked" What's happening?"

Otto laughed and replied" You don't even know what you did?" I shook my head and Otto led me to the other side of the room under the stares of everyone in the room. We got in front of a computer that had its screen projected on a wall.

Otto said" Young friend, am I wrong assuming you completed this task?" He showed my work on the projector, and thus I nodded not understanding. Otto shook his head and said" This, is something I put myself because I have been struggling on it for two months already. And you finished it in one day. Now tell me, am I right to be excited?"
