1 Arrival

The last thing that Steven remembered was a loud honk and a sudden flash of light just before a car hit him. He was a college student in America and the son of two immigrants from China. He only had a few friends and he often spent his time online reading webnovels. Release that Witch was his favorite. He had been walking back to his dorm late at night when he was hit by a car full of drunk students coming back from a party.

As Steven woke up, he looked around. "This doesn't look like a hospital", Steven thought, "I am in the middle of an alley". He quickly got up and took an inventory of himself. He had nothing but his clothing. Walking out of the alley to try to find his way back, he was shocked by the sight. The streets were not paved with asphalt and there were no cars anywhere.

Then, Steven noticed that he couldn't understand any of the signs on the shops. He tried to ask someone where he was, but they didn't seem to understand him and they spoke in some unknown language. At this point Steven started freaking out. He was in an unknown place, didn't know the language, and had nothing but the clothes on his back. He didn't know how he got here. If he had been kidnapped he didn't know why they let him go.

As Steven kept walking, he heard cheering. He quickly ran toward the commotion, wondering what it was about, hoping it would give him some clue of where he was. He saw a large concrete boat being launched. "What an ugly boat", Steven thought to himself. "What kind of person makes a concrete boat anyways".

After taking a look around, Steven decided to go around and just try talking to people. Surely someone around here would know English. After spending a few hours walking around he didn't find anyone who understood any of the languages he knew.

The citizens of Neverwinter soon reported a suspicious looking man walking around and babbling gibberish.

Two police officers approached Steven and demanded that he go with them. Even though Steven couldn't understand what they were saying, he saw uniformed men motioning him to go with them, so he realized that he was probably being arrested. That or he was getting picked up by secret agents.

The two officers brought him to a cell and started asking him questions. Steven didn't understand them and he tried talking to them in English and Chinese but neither language prompted a response. The two officers soon gave up trying to talk to this person and decided to just leave him in the cell and report this to their superiors.

Nightingale was reading a strange report. Apparently a strange man was wandering around Neverwinter and nobody was able to communicate with him. After going down there herself and also not making any sense of the situation, she decided to tell Roland about it.

Steven was hauled up to Roland's office in chains. Steven didn't know what was going on, but he was hoping that wherever he was going, he might be able to find out what was going on. He was escorted into an office with a man sitting at a desk. Steven deduced that this man was probably important. Suddenly, a woman appeared out of nowhere. Steven's jaw dropped in shock as he just saw something happen which is supposed to be impossible.

Roland watched in interest as the mysterious stranger was brought into his office. When Nightingale came out of her mist, Roland saw the look of shock on the person's face. Looks like that person never saw magic firsthand. The man started talking. Roland couldn't understand it, but he felt that it was familiar of some reason. After pausing, the man began speaking again, but this time Roland understood what was being said. The man was speaking in Chinese! Nobody in this world knows Chinese. The only option left is that this person was somehow from Earth as well.

"Do you understand what I am saying?", Steven asked.

Roland responded, "What is your name?"

Steven said, "my name is Steven Wang. I am a college student in the United States of America. Where am I?"

After Roland heard this, he knew that his suspicions were correct. Another person had traveled to this world. Roland told Steven, "It is a long story. You are not on Earth anymore. You see, I once lived on Earth as well, but one day I woke up here, in a medieval land with magic."

Steven felt shocked. This was like the plot to some kind of webnovel, like the ones he read. Now that he discovered he had traveled to another world, he didn't know what to say. After collecting his thoughts, Steven asked, "Who are you, and can you tell me about this land that I am in?"

Roland said, "My name is Roland Wimbledon. I am a prince of the Kingdom of Graycastle. I currently control the Western Region and I am fighting against my brother Timothy for control of the kingdom.

Steven almost fainted in shock. He recognized this, how could he not? He was in the world of Release that Witch. He knew what would happen in the future, he could change so much.

"We have much to discuss", Steven said.
