9 Chapter 9: Unraveling at the Seams (1)

Some hours have passed as Lucian walks back into the manor. He originally wanted to head to his study and get back to reading the book for some clues. After all the events that have occurred in the past couple of days, he just wanted to clear his mind and get some fresh air. Lucian's footsteps echo in the foyer, alerting a maid to come and offer assistance with his coat. When the maid disappears with his coat he strolls up the stairs with its high end detailed banister going up to the second floor. The spools that rest between the railing and the flooring of the stairs are intricately designed to showcase both the color and phases of the moon in the past. Very few of them would include the lunar and solar eclipses as well.

Being a descendant of a long line of astronomers Lucian was taught much of the planets especially the two moons of their lifetime. Not much was mentioned about how the planets use to coexist. There never was news of just a white moon and a pleasant sun who basked the lands with just yellow and orange hues. The feeling of shame creeps into his mind as he thinks of how he ruined his chances of learning what was in that book years ago. He stands before the door of his study before he realized where he was, pushing the door open he steps inside and sits down in the chair he once sat in the night before. Picking up the decrypted book in his hands he picks up where he left off at.

'What Came to Be... continued'

'After the massive impact of the lands, the few who had survived decided to trek and see what they could discover where the site of impact lays. It is said that most of the comet disintegrated through the atmosphere but left a solid boulder with some blue essence that pulsated with a glowing effect. One soul was brave enough to touch the rock and with that touch, the stories came. The knowledge and history locked within that essence unlocked and poured itself into the man's mind. His once sunkissed skin became pale. His brown hair shined as dark a black as the midnight skies. Dull blue eyes have a reflective blue hue that shimmers within the iris itself. From this day forward he became the man of the blue moon, and his name was Lucian London. Truth be told, that I am this person. I write this journal to help those of my descendants understand the unique circumstances that are required of our lineage.'

Lucian's facial expression falters as he reads on, learning this book was written by an ancestor of his over 100 years ago. Lost in thought he realized why now that he was not allowed to read this book in his youth. All this time he thought perhaps it was his unruly youth that always disallowed him to read what was within this text. His thumb gliding along with the etchings that produced words as he realizes that this man knew calligraphy. His hand flipping through the pages as he continues reading the words of what his ancestor had to say. There! Lucian thought to himself as he leans forward in the chair and become engrossed by what marked the page.

'The Truth About the Legend'

'When I touched that essence that swirled within that remaining boulder images flashed before my mind that unlocked the wisdom that was stored with in the essence. Those near me who were willing to listen to my ramblings could affirm to the basics of the story that was unfolded. It was said that when two beings were born and fall in love, tragedy will strike causing a shift in the sky. The two beings will have unique birthmarks that symbolize their path that's to be taken. One of the crescent moon and one of the sun.'

'The once-great white moon will fade and two moons will be born the night the comet came. The sun once held hues of yellow and orange will sink into the lands turning red with envy. The essence showed me that once the blue and purple moons finally kiss, she will be reborn under the luminescent purple moon. When this happens and the fading sun's red light ever touches her it will stir. Her appearance is surreal and, unlike her past self. Due to the tragedy, she faced in her past life her mind will appear broken until pieced back together. The sun will lose its envy and he will come back for her. Haunting her until she submits to him once more.'

'When she left the sun's envy grew red with rage and regret forever hunting for her presence to return. No matter if he was wronged, or caused the break of their bond by his actions. All he knows is that she must be his and he'll wait for her no matter how long it takes. Watching, and waiting for her presence from sun up till sundown. He will not give up, nor will he rest until his envy rests upon her once more.'

'If you are reading this you are probably wondering what we are, what I have become. The only thing I can say is after much time has passed I finally found a location that is suited for watching the skies till the two moons kiss. Many decades have passed until I have finally calculated the location of how many times these two moons came close in proximity. Consequently, this place was located where the boulder was. Near the shores of New York, or what once was New York. The damage done has altered the landscape that we once knew it to be. That's when I decided to build the London Manor upon the cliffs of this region. We are to keep watch for her. Every male that is born in this family will grow to learn what their duties are. Find her, and keep her safe.'

'When the time comes and if she is reborn and the sun re-awakens, we the blue moon must watch over her. Guard her love and protect her always. When she chooses to love, she must love either the blue moon or the tranquil red sun. If she can succeed in doing this with harmony then all will be peaceful, but if she cannot love in such a manner she must perish. The chaos that could disrupt everything will leave along with her. Beauty can come from her, and her love can be pure. The blue moon is destined for her, and so is the red sun. If the red sun were to get a hold of her love for him and tarnish her love with his rage, she will turn into chaos and destroy everything. All beautiful things have a dark side to them. It is up to us to help reserve that and not let things come out of hand. '

Thump...

The sound of the book hitting the floor snaps Lucian out of his haze as the words over and over circulate in his head. 'If the red sun tarnishes her love, she will turn into chaos. Must be killed.' He knew this was too good to be true. Why did he have to start falling for her? Is his love enough for her? Gods knew that he wished he had all the answers. Lucian gets up from the chair and picks the book up to lay it on the table after he skimmed through the rest of its contents. It mostly was filled with different phases of the two moons and where the best route to take was. To be near the spot where the two moons might meet as was shown to his great ancestor. Shaking his head at the information of all the drawings and calculations. No wonder his father always walked him along the shores a few miles down from where the manor rested.

Lucian decides to set this aside for now and walks away from it, making his way towards Nisha's room. Curious as to how she is doing and if she is resting well or not. He opens the door and walks in and sees her sitting in the chair by the french doors covered up with a throw to keep her warm. Lucian smiles as he gathers her up in his arms and carries her back over to the bed, tucking her back in the way he left her earlier that day. Then he walks around the bed and gets on the other side and curl up next to her like the night before. His eyes growing heavy as he feels her warmth and her softly breathing body. He whispers before falling asleep, "I will protect you always." Holding her close he slumbers sweetly and little did he know that the woman in his arms was witnessing something similar to what the book had mentioned.
