1 Chapter 1: What's This?

"Hmm... The weather is different tonight. Not a single cloud in the sky but the winds are picking up." He mutters to himself. His hands are in his pockets as he looks at his surroundings. At this time of night, the sun always settles down with its red hues at such a slow pace. Hoping that it can catch a glimpse of the purple moon. The man chuckles to himself, "Yeah, the same old story that has been a part of this planet for so many a millennia." His vibrant blue eyes look in the opposite direction as he takes in the two familiar moons that begin to show their beauty as the sun recedes into the horizon of the ocean waters.

Gusts of wind begin to pick up. Causing the tranquil waters that once were lapping up along the white sand to crash into them. He decides to step further away and his curiosity peaks as he acknowledges that this is completely abnormal. His medium-length hair whips across his face, giving him a surreal look as his blue eyes peer out behind black strands of hair. He turns his head and looks at the moons and notices that they are much brighter this night than they have ever been before. Shocked at what he's seeing and closes his eyes and shakes his head. Not wanting to believe what had happened. He forces his eyes open once more and just like that the moons disappeared...

Whoosh.

Whoosh.

The waves of the ocean come with a crashing torrent. The red of the sun filtering through from the far off distance as their height increase in feet. The sand no longer calm and tranquil. The sounds going back and forth between each tidal waving crashing into the sand and the gurgling sound of water that follows after. Ridges begin to form as the sand is forced backward. The rest of the ocean seems to calm but this one spot where there's a torrent that has yet to subside. The man notices this in far off distance once he caught a wave that stood out and crashes along the sand and into the cliff that rested as far back as 30 feet.

His heart begins to race as he decides to take his shoes off and run into the sands drenched with the water that had washed ashore. A sense of urgency spurs him forward. Running through blades of grass that he stood in to get away from the water that was getting further and further along the sandy beaches. His feet finally taking in the heavy wet sand that smashes in between the webbing of his toes. The sand that once was warm from basking in the lights of the two moons and sun had long lost its warmth, and what was left was the ice-cold water.

Numb and cold he trudges onward, his pace slowing as he nears what he believed to be the general location of where such commotion had occurred. The sound of water being slapped by his slowing pace grows quiet as he nimbly walks through the shallow waters. At first, it appeared nothing happened and nothing changed. Then he saw it.

"Strange. I never noticed this before. In all my life I thought this was just a cliff that loomed over this area." He whispers to himself in awe. His blue eyes drink in the view before him and realize that the bushes and vines that once climbed up along the cliff have now parted away. Leaving a perfect view of the cave that resides within the side of the cliff. As he stares, he notices the red hue of the sun's radiant light has still not vanished and softly wades through the water. His curiosity getting the best of him he walks along the lit path of water. Reaching his arms out he places his hands up against the cool slick wall of the cliff and parts of the bushes scrape along his face. Peering into the cave he notices the sunlight touching what appears to be strands of long radiant white blonde hair that belonged to a being that is hidden within the cave.

Just as he noticed the light of the sun brush along with the woman's tapered fingers it disappears. He digs into his pants pocket and pulls out his pocket watch that reads 03:00 in the morning. Confused he hastily shoves the pocket watch back into his pocket. "Perhaps it is broken," he ponders to himself. The sun should have long since been asleep on this side of the world and awake on the other side. Sighing he knows he cannot leave this person here. He bends over to peel the hair back and stumbles backward. He falls in a seated position and his arms spread behind his back to brace himself from falling completely back words. Mouth gaped open he notices that this being was a woman of young age.

She lightly wades in the shallow waters that spilled into the opening of the cave. Her long soft face sleeping so soundly. Her lashes are long and white softly brushing along the high cheekbones that rest beneath her sleeping eyes. Soft pink blush dust along her cheeks as her lips part showing they are full and supple and have a pink color to them as well. Her hair that was caught in the no longer existing sunlight now shows itself as an unnatural color of blonde. Almost as if it were a white ribbon that wrapped around her lithe tiny frame. Her knees were drawn in as if she was cocooned for a long time. Ends of her hair fan out around her, wading in the waters as if they were alive on their own. Her glowing aura soon dissipates as he continued to stare.

He gets up and saunters over to the woman that is curled up before him. Squatting down he drifts his fingers across her cheek to pull back the hair that spilled across her face. Reaching in he scoops her up into his arms and carries her out of the cave. Her frame feels willowy and light in comparison to his broad frame and sinewy muscles that bulge through his already wet shirt that's getting drench from this woman's wet hair. He continues to carry her up along the coast to where his car was waiting from him from a far distance. The driver waiting outside of the car startles alert as he saw his Master walk up with a woman curled up in his arms. The driver rushes up to him and takes in the disheveled look of his Master.

"Master Lucian[1], what happened?", asked the driver as he catches his breath.

"I am not sure, but there was something that caused a great disturbance in the far off distance. Did you not see what had happened over there?" Lucian turns and faces the direction that which they came from. From here you wouldn't think anything happened for it looks to be 5 miles out from where they currently stand.

"No Master Lucian, all I heard was abrupt torrent waves crashing over in the direction from whence you came. Then all of a sudden it stilled. Though this is rather unusual, I still didn't think anything of it. Who is the Miss though?" The driver exclaimed while he eagerly awaited for instructions from his Master.

Lucian looks down at the woman in his arms as they begin to make way for the car. "I do not know. She does seem rather unique. I found her in the cave that was revealed after the last wave came crashing through."

Alarmed the driver pauses just before opening the door, "Master Lucian, are you all right? I had not realized you were so close to the waves." The driver just realized how drenched the young Master was when they approached the lights of the idling car.

"Yes, I am fine. Though I am not sure about her. Let us go home, Walter." Lucian gets closer to the car as he waits. The driver opened the car door and steps aside to let the Master and the miss get into the car before heading home. Sitting in the car her head lays in his lap and he can't help, but slowly strum his fingers through her soft hair that is slowly drying. Her tiny frame barely taking up the rest of the back seat of the car. He stares out of the window as the scenery flickers by.

She moves a little with a soft moan escaping her lips as if she is in a dream. Is it a dream that may have meaning or is it a nightmare she may be having? Either way, he looks down at her and lets his eyes drink her in as she absentmindedly strokes her hair. Alone with his thoughts, he ponders over and over. Who is she? How did she wind up in that cave, and why did the waves come crashing into the lands as they did? All that has happened was surreal, but one thing lingered.... the red hues of the sun reached for her as if drawn to her very essence.

He clutches onto her tighter. Instinctively driven to protect this frail woman in his arms. Soon. He will get his answers soon. First things first. Get her back to the manor and tend to her and see what comes of this situation. He turns his head back to the window as he holds onto the woman possessively in his lap. His thoughts continuously circling as fast as the dark shadows of the trees flitting by in the night.

[1]: Lucian; pronounced (lou-she-an).
