6 Nen

"So are you ready to start your Nen training, Katsumi!" Shihara said with a menacing laugh. "I'm not going to go easy on you just because I like you ya got that."

"Loud and clear, I wouldn't want it any other way." Katsumi shot back, he was ready, this was a chance he wouldn't get again, and it may be the solution to his problem.

"Ok so which method do you want, the long and safe method, or the quick and dangerous method?" Shihara was tempting Katsumi, she would do whichever he chose. But this was also a test, to see what kind of man he would become.

"Well isn't it obvious. The short and Dangerous method of course!" Katsumi said with a cocky smirk on his face. They decided to train behind the training barracks late at night so that they wouldn't attract any attention.

"Ok!" Shihara was serious. She walked up to Katsumi and turned him around by his shoulders.

"Ready?"

"Hell yeah!" Katsumi focused. He was standing perfectly still. Her hands pressed up against his back. They were warm, to warm. Then he felt a sharp jolt run through his body. It was a feeling he had felt before. Right the power took over with his fight with the Onrya he had felt this feeling. The ground around them began shaking. The lights hanging on the wall next to the training barracks were shaking, it grew more intense until the began to fall. A powerful aura was being released from Katsumi. Electricity was crackling in the air around him. Grass by his feet caught flame.

"Katsumi! You have to control it!" Shihara yelled out to him. She was worried, this method had killed many people, she had seen it happen herself.

"RRRAAH!" Katsumi screamed out in pain, but it was working. His flaming blue aura was no longer wild and uncontrollable. It was steadily becoming a sharp and dense storm. It was rough, but controlled.

"How was that?" Katsumi said with a cocky smirk. He was relaxed, but that's what caused it. He had lost focus. His aura began to fight uncontrollably. A black aura began to consume his blue. They were fighting for control. Shihara was terrified, the black aura was terrifying, she was frozen stiff. There was nothing she could do other than watch and hope he wins. Then suddenly the fight stopped. Katsumi fell forward unconscious, his clothes torn and body covered in scratches.

"Katsumi? Katsumi!"

"Do you seek power child?" A woman's voice echoed around Katsumi. He was standing still, the only thing he could see was black.

"Who are you?" Katsumi asked with fear in his voice as his hands shook in fear.

"I can give it to you. All you need to do is submit and stop fighting." The voice was calm and soft as if it were trying to soothe him. But he was terrified more than anything. He clenched his right hand to stop the shaking. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

"Who are you?" Katsumi asked, this time without fear in his voice. He opened his eyes. His eyes weren't the red he was born with. They turned to a deep crimson filled with resolution.

"I… am Izanami, the Queen of the Underworld." Her voice was calm but frightening.

"I don't need your power so get the hell out of my body!" Katsumi was scared, he was talking to a god, not just any god but Izanami. But even so, his conviction wasn't going to be broken by a name alone.

"Damn brat! You need me. How do you think You killed the Onrya!" Izanami's voice was filled with rage.

"You." Katsumi spoke softly he was no longer yelling. "You… almost made me kill Misaki!" He was angry. Logic didn't matter to him anymore, he had made up his mind.

"I'm gonna kill you!" Katsumi glared straight ahead into the darkness, if looks could kill his eyes would have done the job.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Ughhh." Katsumi groaned as he regained consciousness. Shihara had her head on his chest, she was listening for his heart. As he got up she quickly backed away.

"Katsumi… is that you?" Shihara's voice was filled with worry.

"Yep… I'm good!" Katsumi said as he jumped up to his feet. He looked back down at Shihara. "Well let's continue!" Katsumi was different from before. His smile was the same as always but now he was filled with determination to see it through. The fear he had felt before didn't scare him anymore. Shihara may have been older than Katsumi but she was only 18, she felt embarrassed how quickly he recovered compared to her.

"Is your body ok? I mean are you ok?" She was flustered and embarrassed.

"Yeah I'm fine, I need to get stronger and fast." Katsumi readied his stance. He took a deep breath.

"Hmph!" A deep blue aura began pulsing from his body, it looked as if it were about to lose control again. This time he maintained his focus. It sharpened his aura was no longer rigid and weak, it flowed throughout his body. Dispersed evenly throughout his entire body.

"Well done, that's enough." Shihara said calmly. Katsumi slowly released his energy, it stopped flowing throughout him. He collapsed. He had strained himself to his limit.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Katsumi awoke. Shihara was sleeping in a chair a meter or two away. He was lying in his bed at the inn. He looked around and outside the window it looked to be around noon. He got out of bed and looked at Shihara.

"Thanks." Katsumi whispered as he left the room. He went out to the kitchen and got some food. He convinced the chef to make him some eggs and soup even though it was past breakfast time. Katsumi was waiting for the food to finish talking when he overheard to elves talking.

"Did you hear what happened to the village to the East?" The older male elf said nervously.

"Yeah, the entire village was wiped out by a single man." The other elf looked around the same age but was almost definitely younger.

"Man, there's no way it was human. It had to be some sort of monster to be able to slaughter an entire village on its own." The elf's voice was full of worry.

"The only survivor that managed to escape said it looked like a human. It wielded a one handed katana and killed everything one one slash." The older elf was terrified. Katsumi knew exactly what it was that the elves were talking about. It was an Onrya. Katsumi got up and walked towards the two men.

"How far away was the village that was killed?" Katsumi asked worried. "That demon… I have fought one before. I should have died." Katsumi's voice saddened quickly, he looked down as the thought of being saved by Izanami's power.

"Its at least 4 days travel by foot, but that's assuming it were to walk in a straight line here." The older elf's voice was grim. He seemed to believe Katsumi.

Ding! A small bell went off near the counter.

"Thank you!" Katsumi bowed his head and left to the counter. He grabbed his breakfast and went back to his room.

"Shihara." Katsumi shook Shihara awoke. "We have a problem!" Katsumi shared his egg and soup breakfast, than he told Shihara everything.
