40 Muddy Waters

Reju slapped the table as he placed his wine glass with a large sound. He was already on his limit on the arrogant behavior of this kid, but now ignoring him so outright, lost in daydreams while I am talking to him. This was enough.

Mitugh came to sense as he smirked towards the old man. He lifted his glass and took another sip of wine.

"I have already transferred the money back to you. Hope this ends things here, what do you say?"

Reju sneered at him and replied,

"What do you think I don't know about that kid?"

"Hmm?"

"He is normal, Yes I know. You didn't kill him because he was a pretty commoner. Do you think I can't catch up to that?

But why? I never thought you were like that…..some inefficacious Conjurer who cares for the world. I thought you were a practical man."

Mitugh, who had already placed his empty glass on the table and was about to stand up, raised his hands.

"Well, you are right. I am a practical man. "

"Then why?"

Mitugh stood up and brushed off invisible dust on his clothes and smiled at the Old man.

"Well I don't mind killing normals as long as it covers my bills but this time…..leave it. You would not understand. "

He was about to turn when suddenly the fire began to crawl all over the room. There were serpents, dragons made of fire coiling all over the interior.

The temperature of the room was raised to the highest But the surprising thing was none of the things like walls, ceilings, curtains these fire creatures were moving on burned. Snakes hissed at Mitugh, and Dragons spiraled on the exit door to block the path to exit.

The Reju crossed his legs and finished his wine in one swing.

"If I say you can't go, then what can you do?"

Mitugh smiled but this time his pupils were rapidly turning blue, water dragons began to coil around his body. They were small, condensed but were as ferocious as fire serpents and dragons.

"Pyromancer! Huh….

Then Today, I got to see your awesome display of power, old man."

The conformation remained stagnant for a few minutes when suddenly on a cue, everything disappeared. No fire, no water, it looked like everything was normal.

Reju stood up and walked by his walking stick to the Mitugh,

"If you think I can't do anything to you then you are very wrong, Mitugh.

This was your biggest mistake and I will make sure you will get ostracized for it in the hidden world.

Your bad days would begin from now when you will suddenly find about half of conjurers and mages against you from this very time. Maybe they will term you as a comrade of that terrorist boy."

Mitugh turned back and opened the door to walk back silently. He threw out last words before exiting from this building.

"Do your worst old man. I am never threatened by anyone in my life, who are you.

If you could make my life hell, then remain alert, maybe one day you would find it difficult to rise back into the air from a normal swim in your back pool. "

The Daughter of Reju, who was waiting outside, raised her hand as the fire began to condense upon them. She was about to shoot them on him for daring to threaten them in their organization.

When Reju coughed to warn her to stop immediately. She reluctantly looked back at her father then at walking back Mitugh. At last, extinguished the fire and stomped her feet to go away from there.

Mitugh and Reju both shook their heads albeit slightly as the trident ring in his hand returned to normal from blinking blue. It was his Weapon ready for action if she fired her mage fire spell at him.

The man walked towards the Reju and inquired,

"Sir, why did we let him go?"

"The world does not work with violence only. Many things can be done easily by right and clever decisions and I can't stop him alone if he wants to leave."

The man shut his mouth as he caught the meaning in the old man's words that only he was capable of fighting him in the whole building.

"But that kid Orion, what is that I am missing....?"

In the University dorms, a student walked back to his dorm room leisurely. He was humming a tune all the time while greeting fellow students he came across on the way.

He opened his room door and suddenly his demeanor changed from leisurely to stern and serious. He looked in the dark side of the room to see a shadow fluttering there.

He kneeled,

"My lord, Orion finally stepped as the Conjurer today. "

From the dark shadow, a small snake slithered to the light as it hissed to the kneeling man. It was just a fifteen(15) inches small cute snake of unknown breed. It was pure white with black stripes over its body.

"He has to one day. We just helped him get there faster. " came a deep voice from the small snake.

"But it was sad that even after taking that demon pact flyer you sent to him, he managed to resist the temptation of revenge.

At last, we had to do his part of killing that idiot blonde guy by ourselves."

It completed his words as it slithered towards the kneeling man.

"My lord, it's fine. Maybe he was just skeptical of the working of that thing. "

"Maybe!....." It hissed.

"We had to find some other way to make him know that he has something we need from him. "

"Yes, my lord. '' replied the man as he stood up and was about to exit his room. When the small snake hissed at him urgently.

He turned back immediately,

"Nothing…..cough….just bring back that cola thing you brought last time. I enjoyed its taste. "

The man nodded respectfully as he exited his dorm room to go back to the university.
