19 Magical Society of Japan(MoJ)

"They are who? "

Asked Orion as he looked towards the three people standing in front of him.

He observed them, two men wearing three-piece black coats and matching suits. And the third one was a little odd, relative to them wearing a white shirt and formal pants.

The middle man with a white shirt walked forward and extended his hand towards Venezia,

"Thanks for calling, Miss Huntress. Your reputation definitely precedes you."

She smiled and shaked his hand with a firm grip,

"Mr. Asahi Tachibana? Right. I think we have only met before in some common gatherings.

MoJ has a capable person to lead its wing."

The Japanese man with black hair and sharp eyes, his build was medium but sturdy. He smiled conservatively at her praise.

"I'm not qualified to lead Miss. I am just an employee following orders. I hope Ouroboros will continue to maintain cooperation with us in the future."

He then turned towards Orion and observed him from his angle.

"And this must be a young man in the news. "

He extended his hand towards Orion who thought he was going to shake hands but instead he cleverly put his hand on his shoulder to pat him.

"Welcome to Japan, Orion. We hope you will soon find yourself acclimated to this Nation and its magic."

His two bodyguards or whatever remained silent from the start to the end of the discussion and after formal goodbyes. He gestured for Orion to walk with him as they began to exit the airport leaving Venezia behind.

"Orion ! " yelled a voice. He turned back to see Venezia walking towards him. She pulled him aside a little and whispered in his ear.

"If you ever feel something wrong, you can call me. "

With small movement, she silently sneaked her personal number into his shirt pocket.

"You should probably stick with your Friend's suggestion. Trust nobody. "

She finished her words in quick two sentences and waved him goodbye. Mr. Asahi waited for them to complete their discussion without any signs of impatience. He even gave them proper space and privacy to finish their conversation.

Orion walked with the new escorts towards the exit of the airport. He was feeling a little jittery as he had no idea what would be their course of action.

'Will they desert him in Tokyo?

Or will they keep him under strict security or observation?'

As he was playing quick quiz with himself in his mind about his future. He found himself with three men to get seated in the black unmarked vehicle.

The black sedan was not exhibiting any other features than only its number plate on which Orion had a suspicion was probably fake.

As the car began its journey, He was clueless as to where they were going. After much thought, he decided to ask Mr. Asahi.

"Mmm... Mr.Asahi? Where are we going? "

The man in question was sitting alongside him in the backseat of the car. He was busy typing something on his mobile when he turned to him and displayed a friendly smile.

"Oh, don't worry. We will not cross any lines. You will be perfectly safe with us.

Right now we are going to the outskirts of Tokyo, Where our headquarters is located. After some formal procedures, I think you will be provided proper support to adjust to your new life in Japan."

"Mr. Asahi, can't I go back to the states? I mean I know now I am a wanted man but this too sudden for me to adapt to such drastic change. Is there any hope for you or your organization to clear my status in this....magical community?

I am just a normal human, heck I don't even know what magic is. Even if my father was a criminal, I don't think they would go to such lengths if they knew I am a powerless civilian, not any mage or Conjurer."

Asahi locked his phone and looked at Orion. Seriously, he could imagine the confusion or fear the boy is feeling right now. But giving him any false hope would be too cruel.

It would be best to tell him a realistic aspect and moreover, he doesn't even know that inside MoJ there are currently three factions formed due to his situation.

One which is the majority, and follows the words of a leader has decided to take him in.

But internal scuffle has risen due to the other two factions, where one is advocating to not dip their feet in this muddy water while the other is outright preventing him from entering the MoJ.

"You can call me Asahi…..Look Orion, I will be realistic here. The magical world doesn't work like that. Sure, there are official nation Organisations like ours which work on the pattern of rules, etc.

But most individuals do not recognize us. The hidden world is erratic and broken into many factions. There is no unification at all.

Thus, if you think our statement will have any effect on all beings of magic. Then it is wrong. Everyone thinks about themselves and works with their own goals in mind.

We can only provide you safety and some security but even we are not immune from attacks of other Magic users. We regularly find ourselves in clashes with each other."

Small hope of getting everything right, extinguished with the words of Asahi. He turned his face back to the passing scenery of the night city of Tokyo, thinking his life is going to change for sure.

Orion was unaware of when he fell asleep in the car, for when he was roused from sleep they were already at the destination.

He felt his body to be a little tired, probably due to jet lag as he followed behind his new guide towards what could be called the old Estate of Japanese architecture.

It was probably somewhere around the wilderness of Sagamihara near the outskirts of Tokyo. It could be dubbed as neither in the rural or urban region but somewhere in between, solitary territory.

As Orion walked into the house-like structure, he was amazed by the modern style and vastness of the complex from inside. Asahi took him inside an office and instructed him to wait for him in the seat. While he quickly reports his arrival to the superiors.

While Orion was quietly waiting in the empty office-like room, in the highly secured room at another side of the estate. Several people who were seated like they were in the consultation were observing Orion from the hidden camera.

A small knock sounded on the door, as Asahi stepped inside the room. The old man who was wearing traditional garbs asked in a deep voice,

"What do you say Asahi? We have been monitoring him right from the airport but you were with him. What is your speculation?"

Asahi cleared his throat to disclose his impression of Orion.

*************

After three or four hours, it was nearly midnight in Japan when finally Asahi walked out of that boiling meeting room. He was feeling parched from such a heavy dispute between a leader and other senior members.

He thanked God at least he got a break from sitting among them like an idiot while they brawl their voices out. He walked to the office and as he already knew found Orion to be sleeping on the chair.

When Asahi didn't come back after the first hour, Orion slowly felt himself falling into sleep again. The senior members who were in the middle of the argument also witnessed him falling asleep in his chair. But they were adamant in formulating some proper plans for him.

Giving him space or security was not easy to MoJ as others would have thought. They are deliberately risking the backlash, safety of their members by taking this decision. Moreover, they were also wary of the identity of this Boy, whether he looks to be innocent or not his history is not something to be ignored easily.

He quickly ordered a few workers to come and deposit him in one of the spare rooms of the headquarters. The next day would be as intense as today, he only hoped young Orion could make it out without any problems.
