Chapter 23

"So if you just drag this over here... Open this menu up, and then you type in these codes which I have already sent to you via email. You should be able to create extremely efficient bots which you can use." Kari's fingers ran across the keyboard as the princes gathered around her, with sparkling eyes, watching the laptop's screen with an admiring intent.

Kari turned to look at the princes, "Got it?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. They all nodded.

"That should be all then... Do I still need to teach you guys more things..?" Kari cracked her neck. As she put down the laptop and stretch for a while.

With a closed eye smile, Xlec shook his head. "We will just learn more tomorrow!" He turns to look at the other princes, "Am I right?"

Seeing the so-totally innocent look on his face, the princes froze up in fear and frantically nodded. Kari started sweating hard when she felt the ominous aura just grazing her back.

She gulped nervously as she nervously avoided eye contact and immediately just ushered them out.

Lying on her bed, her arms tucked behind her head. She stared at the ceiling.

'Now that I think about it... I haven't seen my spirit pets for a long time. Hmm, I should probably just visit them tomorrow. ' Humming slightly, Kari reached out to grab a booster and hugged it tightly, closing her eyes.

2 years passed in a flash.

Qino, Valac and Madia had graduated.

Qino became an apprentice of a mage.

Valac decided to open up his own restaurant.

And Madia had joined Ruirin's army and became a General in a span of 1 year. She was well-known as the Fiery General, aka, the scariest trainer for all the young squires there.

Just like that, it seems like almost everyone had grown up.

Kari and Zayd got undoubtedly closer, as the same goes for the fiancés and the princes.

Kari didn't remain so oblivious to Zayd's feelings anymore. But she still decided not to get into a relationship until she turns into an adult. Which would be when she was 18 years old.

However, she wanted to be single until she was at least 25 years old. She didn't know if Zayd could wait that long. So she had met up with him.

Telling him that she wanted to be single until she was 25. She had expected for him too, well, you know, try not to like her anymore. But she was surprised to see him just nod and smile.

And then said, "Of course. But I will kill and annihilate any other men that dare to try to flirt with you." And with those words coming out of his mouth, he tilted his head and gave an eye-closed smile.

Kari: ...

She shakingly lifted up the 'OK' sign.

'How on earth did I manage to capture a yandere?' And that was the day, she had realised what kind of person Zayd was.

And just decided to resign to her fate of being with him for the rest of her life since she didn't really mind and she knew to the extent how scary Yanderes were due to the novels she used to read in her past life.

Besides, Zayd wouldn't dare to abuse her. It was seen in his actions, he would try his best to pamper her and not restrict her movements, letting her roam around even though he really wants to just lock her up.

But, for the sake of Kari. He wouldn't do that. After all, she was basically his life source from the moment he had fallen in love with her.

The graduation ceremony

Amelia sniffed, as tears were pouring out of her eyes as she continuously look at Kari with proud and sparkling eyes. Kari was currently walking on the stage and had just received her papers.

She shook hands with the principal, bowed slightly to the audience and smiled at the camera. Before walking right off and immediately getting tackled by Amelia who vigorously rubbed her head like she was her own mother.

"Kari graduateddddd. I can't believe this..." *hiccup* *sniff*

Kari chuckled helplessly as Amelia cling to her, with Damon jealously looking from behind. Why couldn't he get that level of affection!? For God's sake, he was her fiancee even!

Kari turned her attention back to the stage, to see Xlec dramatically making his way onto the stage.

Flipping his hair as the helicopter's headlights, (which he hired) light shone down on him. And petals floated in the air, surrounding him.

Xlec did a magnificent twirl that could put Master ballerinas to shame as a thornless rose suddenly appeared out of nowhere in his mouth and he turned to face the crowd and did a love sign and wink, which was targeted toward Yona.

Her eyes turned red and her face flushed bright pink with embarrassment as she opened her fan and hid her face behind it. Why was Xlec like this!?

Xlec smirked successfully, seeing her reaction as he walked towards the principal with satisfaction, did all the procedures, received the papers and got his shoulder gripped by the principal from behind who had a dark aura radiating off from him.

Saying he would be cleaning the stage afterwards which Xlec agreed to immediately as he scampered off with fear, running to Yona for comfort without a second thought and just picking her up and hugging her tightly.

Zayd walked up the stage elegantly next with his usual, calm style. Everything seem ethereal and everyone got quiet when they saw him go up.

Kari: ??? Tf happen to the noisy atmosphere?

Every action that Zayd executed seemed to come along with a feeling of elegance and peacefulness which enraptured everyone.

Even the principal looked extremely honoured to just shake Zayd's hand (as he should) and hand him the graduation papers.

Kari: wtf

Kari rubbed her eyes, and thankfully when she was done, everything seem to have gone back to normal. Well, the moment she open her eyes, she did get a terrible scare as Zayd was standing right in front of her with his smile.

Imaginary tears ran down her face, ah, that smile of his was extremely terrifying.

After the graduation ceremony, everyone met up. You know, the whole crew.

Kari even escaped the bathroom for a while so she could show off her papers in front of Shadi, the spirit pets and her lovely, little adopted brothers. Kari very much wanted to adopt them when she came of legal age. That will have to wait for one more year though.

She came back quickly though. After she bid everyone goodbye and promised them that she would visit them since they were royalties and couldn't really just leave their positions whenever they want to. (Special case: Zayd)

And with the 3 years of not seeing her parents, she did kinda miss them.

Zayd did follow her along, because duh, he wants to assert his dominance on the son-in-law position. ;)

Kari couldn't just prevent him to follow her, so she reluctantly, let him enter the car together with her which was sent by her parents. The smug look on the butler's face when he saw Zayd though.

Butler: Young Miss got a good catch!

So they reach home, not pausing mid-way since no one really needed a break.

Kari thought at least one of her parents, mom or dad would like, you know in those stories, when they don't want to give their daughters away to another man?

It was completely out of her expectations. Nooooooo, instead, their eyes were sparkling, their faces bright, auras were binding when they saw Zayd standing right next to Kari.

My oh my! How on earth did Kari get someone like this with her looks and attitude?

In an instant, they accepted Zayd as their son-in-law and even cheered him on.

Kari just look in disbelief as Zayd was all smiley around her parents.

It was the first time, she saw him, being this charismatic. Cause what in the absolutely fuck-

Ok, okay, NEVER MIND.

Kari stayed at her parent's house for a while, she wanted to live on her own as soon as possible. She already had enough money to support herself. Plus, she wanted to live in the city near her school.

So she had to look upon renting an apartment. She planned to get a two-room apartment. One room for her, the other for a guest if they were staying over.

But with Zayd looks with expectant eyes behind her shoulder as his eyes constantly gaze at the four-room apartment.

Cough, cough, one for her and him, one for a guest, one for a baby's room(maybe) and one for an office.

Kari just decided to rent a 4-room apartment which Zayd took very much delight in and again, tackled and wrapped his arms around Kari and pull her closer to him and just started playing with her hair.

Kari just focused on her laptop. And her parents? They sneakily took pictures.

Oh, they were so going to print this and just show off to your relatives and friends how handsome the man that their daughter, Kari, had managed to capture.

Zayd was already in a higher position in her parents' hearts.

"After a few months"

In a few months' time, Kari moved into her new apartment. Of course, with Zayd as usual tagging along and dumping his stuff there too. To gain his position even further.

Mind you, he also occasionally went back to the castle to work on his duties. With the help of his beloved Kari, teleporting him front and back.

Meanwhile, Kari had gone through a few job options, she didn't know what she wanted to be exactly. Should she be a technician?

She didn't really need a job, considering she was rich. But she knew she needed one so she wouldn't get bored.

So thus, after searching for an extremely long time. Kari just decided to be a freelance writer. Not straight away, of course, she took some English and Creative Writing classes before starting on a draft and posting them on Archivesofourown to get some feedback and to know what to improve on.

Kari enjoyed the job very much so she decided to take it up.

Soon enough, a few years passed. During those years, Kari adopted the boys and left her spirit pets free and roam wherever they wanted to. Although they were still in a contract, it would only be released if she died.

Though, it didn't really feel different. Contract or no contract. They still had the same freedom and could do whatever they desired. Kari really didn't care and just minded her own business. They visited her regularly which Kari had welcomed happily. Shadi also became really good friends with them though and mostly accompanied them everywhere during his breaks.

Kari also visited the girls and boys regularly, every 2 weeks, all of them would meet up and chat about the recent events going on in their lives.

(Xlec, Damon, Arties, Kain, Amelia, Megumi, Yona, Reina are the ones who got married)

They also all got married, mind you, Kari brought the stupidest wedding gifts.

She also visited her parents at least once a month, of course, though she left them alone most of the time since they were so lovey-dovey, it hurts her eyes.

Kari also had introduced Madia, Qino, Aiden and Valac to the others, and they soon also joined the group. When Aiden graduated, he actually became a computer engineer since he really loved working with computers and systems.

Madia remained single, she wasn't interested in a relationship, Qino got married to a woman he had met when he visited his friend in the medical department.

Valac got a boyfriend, he met him at a park while he was walking his dog. Aiden also remained single, he wasn't interested in dating as well.

Besides that, Kari and Zayd's relationship progressed even further. They could even be considered boyfriend and girlfriend. Well, just not official yet of course. Just wait for one more year and Zayd can finally confess to Kari.

Yes, Kari is 24 now. She is also, gained slow-burn feelings for Zayd over the few years.

Eventually, Zayd will finally capture Kari!

"Hah, finally! 4000 words. I can send this to my editor now!~" Kari said happily. She sends the draft to her editor by email, put down her laptop and stretched, cracking her joints in the process.

She felt some wind coming in from the balcony and decided to walk there. Hands on the rails, Kari admired the beautiful scenery and smiled, she rested her chin on her fist.

Just then, she felt a pair of arms wrapped around her. "Zayd? When did to get back?" Instantly, she knew who was hugging her.

Who else after all?

Zayd grinned, "Just now! It looks like my stealth is besting your super-sensitive senses."

Kari rolls her eyes at his proud comment, she sighs and turns her attention back to the scenery.

Just then, she heard some 'chuf' 'chuf' sounds, it sounded like they came from a helicopter.

"But why would they be a helicopter be near- No." Kari abruptly turns her head to face Zayd. "Don't tell me you-!"

Zayd beamed, the sound got louder and louder, Kari turn back to see a helicopter flying in her view, and just as she had expected. A huge cloth was attached to it. It was spread out, and there were huge, painted handwritten words on it.

{Would you be my girlfriend?}

Kari flushed hard when she heard gasps and awes from her neighbours when the sign came into view. She gripped the railings tightly as she slightly look down, biting her bottom lip.

Her face turns a dark red, "Y-yes." And after those words came out, she covered her face slightly with one hand and stalked back over to her room.

She entered inside and close the door behind her, leaning against the door, she slid down as she cupped her warm cheeks. "I can't believe he did that... I thought those only happen in shojo manga!" She buried her face in her knees. It was so.. eye-catching too! Just for a confession!

Slowly, she turned her head to rest it on the side. "But, I guess I liked it. Ah. I should thank him later. I do hope that helicopter is down though. I bet there's gonna be media of this on the news..."

Thinking of that, Kari got up and immediately jump and landed on her bed. As she bury her face in her pillow and gripped it tightly, her legs went up and down in a frantic manner.

"UghhHhh!" She cried out. "This is so embarrassing, seriously!"

After that confession, just as she had expected. Countless pictures appeared on social media.

They were both congratulated and envied by others. Of course, there was always that one hater and Kari had to hold him back from killing the haters.

Kari and Zayd did announce their relationship to their friends. Everyone was ecstatic and overjoyed for them.

Finally! They got together. After so god damn long-

Okay okay, let's cut off there and get to the lovely moments, now shall we?

As soon as Zayd and Kari got together, they had many lovely moments together.

Such as snuggling on the couch. Kari desperately holding Zayd back from killing someone who had just tried to flirt with her. Zayd accidentally walked on Kari in the middle of changing clothes, and it wasn't even 5 seconds before they literally appeared on the bed and did the deed (With Kari's consent of course)

Zayd willingly bought pads and took care of Kari when she was on her painful period cramps. He even turned on Netflix and basically wrapped her up in a burrito and just had her kept in his arms. (Haha I wish I had a bf like this but dis shit is hard to find or probs just does not exist)

It was literally, let me tell you, LITERALLY. O N E. Y E A R. Before Zayd couldn't take it anymore, and just bought a ring and proposed to Kari in the living room. (Hey it's a nice proposal)

<How it went>

Kari was sitting on the couch, snacking on her bag of chips, her eyes glued to the TV. Just as she was about to get up to get a cup of water, she heard a thud and turned to see Zayd on one knee on the floor.

She slightly tilted her head as Zayd took out the ring box, opened it and look at her with puppy dog eyes.

"Marry me?"

"Sure but can I get my water first? My throat is parched."

Kari, this time, was very glad. That it wasn't public this time and privacy. She gladly accepted the proposal and since she was insanely kinda lazy. And busy with writing her drafts and making she doesn't die at her editor's hands plus her fan's comments by going over the deadline. She left the wedding planning to Zayd who gladly took up the job.

Kari really didn't care how her wedding would turn out, she trusted Zayd very much to handle their wedding while she worked her brain to death trying to write. (Pain of all writers)

Anyways, their wedding was fucking grand. Like holy shit. All the citizens of Oscerstan were invited, and it was held there. Imagine the shock of her friends when they realised that there was literally a fucking species that lived right under their noses. (Aside from Kari's Teammates, spirit pets, the boys, demons and Shadi)

Immediately when the princes saw the state of the demon countries, they instantly just forged up some alliances contracts and handed them to Zayd to sign while they tried to kiss Kari's asses if they ever make one mistake and won't get instantly annihilated by this mega-power country.

Like bitch no, they weren't risking it. You wish. You DREAM.

Back to topic, the wedding was outrageously grand. As I swear, the whole country was rented out for their wedding honestly.

Even Kari was dazed and bewildered when she realised the extent of the grandfulness her wedding held.

It was a trillion times fancier than the princes' weddings.

*During the wedding reception*

Kari pointed at one of the authentic, medium-sized, diamond globes that were each and located at every single mulberry white-silk clothed table right in the smack-dab middle. "Babe, isn't that too much-?"

Zayd smiled and rested a hand on her shoulder, he bend down to whisper in her ear. His warm breath tickled her ear, "Of course, not dear. In fact, I think it's too little!" Kari's ears turn red.

"Man, I wish I was rich."

The guests and employees were honestly just used to seeing daily intense PDA from these two every day now.

They just chose to ignore it and continue on with their conversations.

Eventually, the wedding finally started and then walking down the aisle shit thing.

Orchestral music filled the air, as roses and petals flitted down gently, flowing from side to side and landing on the carpeted ground gently.

With her arms entangled with one, from her mother, the other, from her father.

The bride smiled happily, her baby purple wedding gown, exclusively and custom-made just for her, wrapped around her body curves perfectly.

Slowly, her feet walked across the carpet. She slowly untangle her arms from her parents as she picked up her ground slightly to scamper towards Zayd.

She stretched out her arms and hopped into Zayd's arms, giving a small, brief kiss on his lips before she turned to look at the elderly man dressed in a priest-liked outfit. A brown book was laid out in his hands.

With a gentle smile, he took a deep breath and read out the vows.

With her arms wrapped around Zayd's next, proudly, they both recited their vows together, turning to look at each other in the eyes.
