8 Chapter 7

The warm ball of light filtered through his thin eyelids awoke him from his deep slumber. Rays of brightness cast squares onto the glossy stone floor, reflecting onto several objects in the room which decorated its otherwise simplicity. He blinked a few times, in an attempt to help hiseyes adjust to the illumination directed right at his defenseless looking figure.

Suddenly the sun shone directly onto the male's fair skin.

By the curtains was a small child around 12 years old, jumping excitedly up and down.

His facial features were babyish, big eyes, soft skin and a button nose. The child had a thin face, yet was handsome nonetheless. His bone structure was symmetrical, cheek bones high and prominent. But baby fat still lingered on his face, it became apparent in a few years he would be unbelievably handsome. Currently he was still only a child in the eyes of cultivators.

"Shifu! Shifu! Wakey wakey! I'm hungry~"

The child whined childishly as he tugged the inner robes of the half awake male.

"Leave shifu alone Liu."

By the window sill was an extremely handsome male who seem to have a sinister but elegant aura around him. His black siloutte stretched across the floor. The wind gently ruffled his He had tousled black hair, which was thick and lustrous. The sun caressed his smooth skin, free from any blemished.

His eyes were a mesmerising ruby red, flecks of silvery light performed ballets throughout. His face was strong and defined, his features molded from granite. He had dark eye brows, which sloped downwards in a serious expression. His lips were drawn into a hard line across his face.  His strong clause hands, slightly rough from wielding a blade was holding a book.

When Fei first picked him up he was dirty and thin. But by fourteen he was filling out, he had muscles from the intense sword training. By 15 it wasn't just the girl's after him. He had grown into those features, his bone structure was fine and perfectly symmetrical. It was manly. And as he aged he became all the more striking, as a silver-fox

His whole being looked to be someone close yet to far from reach.

"But I'm hungry and shifu makes the best food! Okay I won't complain...."

He began soaking, his whole being slumping. Looking similar to a lost puppy.

By now the once sleeping male was fully awake. He sat up and began stroking their head of hair of his youngest disciple affectionately.

-------------------

"I'll make breakfast soon. Okay?"

"Thanks! Shifu is the best in the whole wide world."

Fei lips couldn't help but quirk up slightly but it was hidden by the mask by his mask. But Cheng still noticed it, his heart couldn't help but jump slightly as he stared at his master.

Fei's  head turned towards the direction of Cheng. Although he can't see him the spiritual flowing out of him was immense and the concentration of it was thick.

"It seems you have come back safely. I have no doubt in my mind you didn't succeed."

"Thank you shifu. It is thanks due to your guidance."

"It was not from me, I just pushed you along the way. You deserve all the merits."

The sound of boot clicking against the wooden floor could be heard. Cheng picked up the white silk on the bedside table and got behind where his master sat. Fei felt a piece of silk wrap around where my eyes were located and was gently tied into place.

He tilted his head back slightly.

"Thank you."

"I promise I'll find the ingredients and formula to find your eyesight back."

I shake my head slightly.

"No need to worry yourself over such measly matter."

"Bu-"

"Just focus on your cultivation okay? I have already found the formula and nearly got all the needed ingredients. So no need to worry."

That was half a lie and half truth. He hadn't actually accumulated enough points to purchase the formula but he as an alchemist probably had nearly all the materials needed to make the concoction.

Cheng still had some doubt in his heart but let it go. He had already told himself he would protect this man the minute he decided to trust him.

"Now I need to go and make breakfast. Both of you behave. Why don't you both do some training together. Okay?"

Bot of them bowed respectfully, cupping their fist.

"Yes Shifu."

Fei turned, heading towards where the kitched was. Making sure to not step on anything as his vision was impaired.

----------------

Autumn had finally decided to come around. The leaves had changed colors, lining the trees with speckles of orange, red and yellow. When the wind blew they came down, breaking delicately off of tree branches and fluttering down to earth like a colorful rain.

This autumn breeze has a way of moving his hair, of tousling it into buoyant curls. It carries with it the fragrance of earth, soft after the washing of the rain and a sweet and steady sense of joy. It dances with the canopies of flame.

As newly chilled air moves the clouds, streaks of brilliance break through from a patient sun. Fei let his eyes rest for a moment, feeling the ambiance of street, hearing the sounds, taking in the aroma, letting my brain be still.

To little Liu the falling leaves were like crispy fried starfish, brown and ready to stamp on until they broke into a million fragments. Just seeing them was like eating five candy bars. His arms got crazy pumped and his legs just had to run.

He milled about the courtyard in where they had been training at, bolting up and down the path until he was either satisfied with his destruction or out of breath; and should any have the audacity to fall while he was watching he exterminated them with extreme prejudice.

The scent of mouth watering dishes wafted through the air causing the know tired and hungry child to cheer. His stomach also showed it's excitement by rumbling loudly.

Fei balanced all of the plates on his arms expertly. The servants looked from afar slightly worried. By they had grown accustomed to their master. He was actually sweet.

"The renound 'Icy Beauty' is actually a kind soul!

It brought them to tears and with Fei realising their morality was increased and they became more devoted to him.

Cheng walked over to his shifu taking the plates and placing them gently on the table. The sound of porcelain against the stone could be heard as it was placed.

All of them took a seat. Just as Liu was about to dig in Fei said,

"Mind your manners. Remember what I taught you?"

'You need to know it. Your future wifey need to be impressed by you!' Fei thought internally as he scolded his youngest diciple.

"Sorry shifu. I remember."

The child picked up his fork and elegantly placed it on a plate.

Cheng placed a chicken wing into his masters bowl, then smiled affectionately. It was enough to charm any girls or at least make their heart flutter.

Fei's eyes slightly widen. 'What a gentlemen thing to do. I feel like a proud mum. I deserve a pat on the back! Did you see that System Xiao UWU?!"

[Yes master! He is growing so quick. Your doing so well master. I can already see him being a fine husbando! It's enough to bring me to tears. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧]

'Hehe. Watch your master strut his stuff!"

[I shall master! Fight on! (ง°ل͜°)ง]

Cheng silently stared at his master who was eating absentmindedly. He noticed sometimes his shifu would space out, accidently dropping his food or chopsticks but didn't realise it. He couldn't help but find his master cute.

It made him happy that only he could see this side of him. Other then Liu, if that child got in his way he wouldn't hesitate to throw him away. He was to clingy and needy. Which Cheng highly disliked but his master was fond of him so he would have to wait.

"Shifu, shifu! Can you teach me the 'Plum Blossom Techinque', pretty please!"

The childish voice snapped Fei out of his talk with his system.

He sighed helplessly at the child.

"I can but I need to see how far you've progressed."

"I'm already in the *Late-Stage of Qi Condensation! Isn't that enough."

*Refer to chapter 1

"You should focus on breaking though to the next stage. Also I now need to make preparation for the pills to aid you when your about to advance into the Foundation Establishment stage. Be patient then I'll teach you it okay?"

Liu slumped down in his seat before saying sulkily,

"Okay..."

Fei felt a little helpless and rubbed the child's hair gently.

"Be good, I'll take you and Cheng somewhere if you behave. Okay?"

Liu's ears peaked up, he jumped out of his seat. Jumping up and down like a little rabbit.

"Can we please go to the festival where the fireworks are going to happen! Pretty please!?"

Fei smiled helplessly and nodded. No emotion showed on his face but his tone and actions were filled with warmth and gentleness.

"Are you find with this Cheng?"

He nodded slowly.

"Anywhere with you master is fine."

Fei nodded, he had the urge to chuckle at his disciples words. He was quite the charmer. Igf he said those words to any female or even men they would be swooned easily.

"Be careful with your word choice Cheng. Someone could easily mistake those words for a different intention.

Cheng's eyes darkened. 'What if I want you to think of it like something else? Would you still cre for me like you do now?'

Fei took something out of his inner pocket of his robe. It was a small red pouch. He handed it to Cheng.

"Take this. This is a congratualtation for getting yout first sword and to aid you in yur future cultivation."

Cheng smiled charmingly and took the red pouch. His fingers caressing Fei's as he grabbed it. Fei payed it no mind. Cheng felt his fingers yearned more to touched those delicate long thin fingers. But now was not the time.

He opened the gift, inside was various pills, tailsmens, money and a *feng shui coin. Cheng grabbed the charm.

*Feng Shui Chinese coins are a symbol of prosperity and luck.

He stroked it affectionately his eyes trailing to his quiet and stoic master who was sipping elegantly on a cup of tea. The autumn leaves fluttered slowly to the ground. The whole scene was one he wanted to imprint into his mind. His master holding a porcelain cup with his jade like fingers, his thin and gentle figure sitting elegantly, his hair and robes fluttering gently in the wind.

All of the things in this life is what he yearned for in his past. But this man caused desire to grow in his heart. The feeling was not bad.

Liu saw his master and his *Gege and *Shizun together and got jealous.

*elder brother in Chinese  other meaning are dàgē (大哥), gē (哥), kūn (昆), xiōng (兄)

*Teacher or master, shifu means the same thing

"Shizun how come Cheng gets a gift but I don't!"

"That's because he is older and did something to deserve it."

"But but! Aren't I in a high cultivation stage compared to others!"

"Don't compare others to yourself. I already said I would reward you once you advance so work diligently."

"Okay..."

"Now you finished eating go back to cultivating. I have some matters to settle."

With a flick of his sleeve he was already off to the assembly hall.

'That damn elder, I knew he was planning something but not so soon.'
