1 Reasoning/Formatting

Hi, I really enjoy the book Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, but because I do not really know much about Korean culture and folklore/myths I decided that it might be helpful to make a guide.

The book, or rather novel, is also super long and while reading it I had a hard time keeping track of everything so this is just a quick way to get to know the context behind certain parts and information that is not widely known to many westerners.

This guide is going to be structured in a way that it will cover the entire chapter, which is done in multiple parts on the translation at least, maybe even chapters for shorter ones.

In this I will include the characters that are present in the given chapter(s) because there's typically a whole lot. I will cover the characters' names as they are written (and will be written when the translator changes over halfway through) both in english and in Korean. I'll also include a pronunciation guide and a short overview of the character.

Once a character becomes reoccurring I will stop including them after 5ish chapters in a row and will only re introduce them if they have been absent for a while.

Folklore is also very important to the story and I will include the myths/legends that the (original) author assumes that the reader knows as it is targeted towards a Korean audience.

I will try to include as much as I can to make the novel easier to understand, as there is so much information given to us because the novel is hella long.

Constellations and the basic workings of the book will also be included, but only when there is not much exposition (author directly telling audience what something is) or the exposition is stretched out.

Honestly I am doing this for my own benefit for when I undoubtedly re-read the book again, but I hope it can help someone else understand better too.
