17 CHAPTER 17 : TRUST

Marley sat at her window watching the rain pour as she scribbled away in her note book, trying to put the words together for a book she'd been writing. For the past couple of days it had been raining non stop, and there were headlines on the news of places experiencing flash floods. Marley didn't really mind the rain, the smell of wet earth and the soothing sounds of raindrops falling on her roof were absolute bliss to her. Her mom always mentioned that Marley had loved the rain even as a little kid. She looked out her window to the city below drenched in water. She hoped Akira wasn't caught in this downpour where ever he was.

Marley grabbed her cup of hot chocolate and sipped on it, a warm sensation rippling through her body.

There was a knock at her door and she wondered who could have moved through this rain and found themselves at her doorstep, ready to disturb her peaceful afternoon.

The girl got up and walked to the door.
