3 The Girl's Bathroom

The rest of the weekend went by uneventful. He spent most of his time at the library reading or working on assignments. He tried to spend as little time at home as he could. His parents seemed to like it that way as did he. The less time he spent around his family, the better he felt. When he wasn't in the library, he would go off into the woods, find a nice secluded spot, and read. He read all kinds of books, history books, fighting books, educational books, but his favorite were the adventure books. He always dreamed that he could go on adventures like the characters he reads about. He fantasized what it would be like to be brave and courageous.

That following Monday, he went to school like any normal kid would after a weekend break. "Hey Streetrat!" he heard a voice yell as he was placing his books in his locker and getting prepared for his first class of the day. His muscles tightened as he knew who's voice that was.

Slowly he turned around and found Roger standing behind him with an arm wrapped around Lindsey, his older sister, both glaring at him with disgust in their eye. "What do you want Roger," Forest responded, not wanting to deal with either of them, especially this early in the day.

"Oh look who is giving us some attitude babe," his sister said to Roger. "Yeah, maybe the boys should teach him a lesson, who is he to talk back to us like that?"

Roger whistles and his posy of boys, who must have been lurking somewhere near by, came into view. There were about five of them in total not counting Roger and Lindsey. "Show the Streetrat here who his superiors are, and that he is not to show us attitude." With his arm around Lindsey, he walked away leaving Forest to be tortured by the five boys left behind.

They all gathered around him with evil smiles on their faces. One sent a punch to his gut, knocking the air out of him. Once he was down for the count, the other four grabbed his arms and legs and dragged him to the female bathroom. "Little girls belong in here," Caleb, the one that punched him, had said.

They took him into a stall, shoved his face in the toilet, and flushed it. "That's what you deserve Streetrat, you are no better than shit in a toilet." Caleb kicked him again as the four others laugh.

Just then, the door swings open and the boys all look up to see who is entering. Cindy stands in the doorway glaring at each of them. "What are you doing in the girls room," she yells. "You better get out of here before I tell Mr. Collins."

Mr. Collins was the principal at Red Stone High School. He was nice enough, and tried to deal with bullying the best he could. But, when you had parents like Forests, who just don't care if he gets bullied, there is only so much a principal can do. He has given these boys all detention countless times, but to no avail. Roger's family was wealthy, heck he was the mayor's son. All he had to do was cry to daddy, and daddy would wave a few dollars around and all was forgotten. Everyone could be bought.

"Go ahead and tell Mr. Collins, what will he do, put us in detention again?" He rolled his eyes at Cindy, "we are done here anyway, let's go guys." They all filed out of the bathroom. Cindy comes over to Forest and helps him up. "Why do you let them do this to you?"

He glared at her, anger adamant in his eyes, "LET THEM?" How could she think he let them do this, like he had any control after being hit in the gut then held back by the other four guys. "You seriously think I let them do this to me? I was just like, okay guys, I'm ready, go ahead and hit me, hold me down, and give me a swirly in the girls room!" He rolled his eyes as he straightened his clothes out and tried to fix his hair to the best of his ability. "Why do you come around me Cindy, if you are just going to judge me like everyone else?"

Without waiting for an answer, Forest walks out of the girls bathroom leaving Cindy standing there in shock. He didn't care, he was tired of her constantly coming around him, especially if she was going to judge him. He didn't need her help anyway. He could take care of himself. He learned at a young age not to rely on anyone.

He decided to skip his first class, it was only a review day for the test tomorrow anyway, plus Roger was in that class. He did not want to see him so soon. He snuck himself into the library, found a cozy area hidden in the back, sat down, and pulled out his book.

The book he was reading was a fantasy book about a knight and a dragon who had become best friends after the knight saved the dragon from being killed. Together they go on adventures and save the world. He loved books like that and wished he could live a life like that.

He opened his book and began reading. As he read he felt his world slip away from him. His head began to spin. He closed his eyes for a brief minute, and when he opened them, he was no longer in the library at Red Stone High.
