1 Forest A. Fischer

Forest A. Fischer was a normal kid. He went to a normal school, lived in a normal town, and had a normal family. Or at least from an outside view he did. In reality, Forest was far from normal. He was a book nerd, and very smart. Because he was so smart, he was also bullied by the kids at school. He was shoved in lockers and called all kinds of names.

His older sister also bullied him. She was probably the worst of them all. She had bullied him his whole life, once he entered high school it just got worse. She convinced the whole school that he was left on the streets as a baby and their parents found him and took him in. That was not the case. He was born into the family as her younger brother. However, due to her stories, he was dubbed the nickname Streetrat.

"You have my homework for me Streetrat?" Roger, the tough wrestler, and Forest's sister's boyfriend, bullied him almost as much as she did.

"Ah, yes... r-rright here Roger."

Roger ripped the paper from Forest's hand as his possy of boys, also on the wrestling team, yanked his pants down and knocked him to the ground. The whole school laughed and laughed.

Embarassed, Forest ran home and locked himself in his room. Now Forest's room isn't the traditional room for a sixteen year old boy. Forest lives in the basement of his house. He has a small bed against the brick wall with a blanket and one pillow. He has a dresser with a limited amount of clothes. On the side, there is a little bathroom with a small sink, a toliet, and a stand up shower.

His parents are not the greatest parents, if you couldn't already tell. They despised Forest. He was not their version of normal, so they threw him in the basement with a few items and pretty much forgot he was there. He is only allowed to come up for dinner after everyone had already eaten and was to take it back to his room.

He didn't care. He didn't want to be around them anyway. He knew he was different from them. They never did anything to keep the bullying at bay for him either.

"That is what you deserve," his dad had said to him one day when he came home with a bloody lip and black and blue eye. "If you were normal people would leave you alone." Forest glared at his father as he went down to his room in the basement and cleaned himself up.

He also didn't really have any friends at school either. There was this girl though, Cindy. He didn't really care for Cindy. She was a short girl with black glasses and curly blonde hair. Cute enough. But he didn't like anyone, and preferred to be alone. Cindy was two years younger than him and a freshman. She was a tough little thing. Any time he would get bullied or tortured in school she would stand up for him. The bullies always seemed to back down from Cindy.

Forest didn't like Cindy standing up for him. He constantly told her to leave him a lone and to stop fighting his battles. The bullies made it harder for him too, "oh is your girlfriend gunna come stand up for you?" they would say. It really angered him.

"Oh my gosh, look at this!" Kaitlyn, one of the girls in his class exclaimed waving her phone around. Forest rolled his eyes. He could never understand why people were so obsessed with these cellphones. He didn't have one and he was perfectly okay with that. There is nothing he could get from a fancy phone that he couldn't already get from his books.

"Omg!" another girl exclaimed, "a meteor shower tonight in our town! This is going to be exciting!"

Now that did catch Forest's attention. He loved science, well really anything to do with learning. Watching a meteor shower was probably the coolest thing ever. He had never seen anything like that in all of his sixteen years of life.

As everyone made plans to watch this meteor shower, Forest made his own plans. It was Friday after all and he didn't have to go to school tomorrow. A camping trip could be fun. Just him, his books, and the outdoors. He would be away from his family, and anyone in his life that causes him pain.

After school, he gathered up what little camping supplies he had; a flashlight, an old sleeping bag, and a lighter. At least he could start a fire while he slept under the stars. He left the house and headed for the open field. The field was on the other side the woods that surrounded the town. It wasn't owned by anyone, or at least that's what people believed. Still, people didn't like to go there, they believed it was haunted.
