1 Chapter 1

Let our story begin in a small town called Rose County, there is a beautiful blonde hair young woman, she has blonde hair long wavy soft curls, blue eyes, five feet five inches and one hundred five pounds with pearl white skin. Her name is Angel Knight.

Angel works in a bookstore cafe that serves excellent coffee's, latte's, and so much more. She even gets newest edition of every book. Let's take a look as to see what she's up to.

"Shauna, get table seven a Caramel Latte stat." Angel said to her fellow co-worker.

Shauna Meigs is nineteen years old with short curly brunette hair, brown eyes, five feet six inches and at one hundred pounds. She's been working with Angel for about six months but is quick on her feet.

"I am on it, boss." Shauna said in her sweet voice.

Angel always greeted her customers with kindness including the young kid's who'd want Chocolate Milk to enjoy while their parents enjoyed coffee. One of her oldest customers still greets her every day. She has peppered hair, green eyes, one hundred thirty pounds, and about five feet four inches.

"You always have such a beautiful spirit, sweet Angel." softly speaking Misses Ingrid Carlington.

Angel hugged Ingrid replying,

"As you are my favorite customer, Ingrid, can I get you anything today?"

Ingrid shook her head no patting Angel's hand responding,

"No, it's fine, sweet girl, I am enjoying a good book today."

Angel smirked replying,

"What are you reading?"

Ingrid smiled with a grin responding,

"One of my all time favorite's Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls, oh you would love it, with wild adventure and so much more."

Angel chuckled replying,

"If I wasn't so busy managing this store with tourists I'd be for a good book."

Ingrid patted Angel's hand again responding,

"It's okay, dear child."

Angel gave Ingrid a kiss on the cheek then went back to check on Shauna.

"Everything going okay, Shauna?" Angel said in a stern voice.

Shauna came up to Angel holding her shoulder's replying,

"Scarlett Thomas is looking for you, she's in your office."

Angel let out a frustrated sigh. The thought of Scarlett actually being her in cafe just made Angel's skin crawl. Scarlett was Angel's ex-girlfriend during their high school days. Scarlett has black short wavy hair, blue eyes, one hundred twenty pounds, and five feet seven inches and very attractive. Angel's relationship with Scarlett was very abusive which led Angel to break things off with Scarlett before graduation because she couldn't simply take it anymore. When graduation was over, all Angel wanted to do was just move away and start up her bookstore cafe that she always dreamed about and just have a new life. She never thought Scarlett would find her here in Rose County.

Angel started walking towards her office where Scarlett was waiting for her. Angel opened the door and walked in. Scarlett was still beautiful as ever, even though Angel was sick at the sight of her being there. Just seeing Scarlett was enough to make her blood pressure rise and her stress levels to go through the roof. Not to mention all of the negative memories that came flooding back.

"What are you doing here, Scarlett?" Angel asked.

Scarlett had her hands behind her head with her legs stretched out on the desk as she chuckled replying,

"I am just here to check on you, sweetheart, is that such a crime?"

Angel cringed with Scarlett called her sweetheart. Hearing that just made Angel more furious to the point one could see fumes coming out of her ears.

"You don't belong anywhere near me, Scarlett. What are you doing here?""

Scarlett let out a laugh loud enough that everyone in the store could hear then lowered her voice replying,

"Princess, you are in my court now, I have decided to take over everything you own and place it in my name."

Angel rolled her eyes responding,

"You need to get out of my store, NOW!"

Scarlett chuckled again replying,

"No way, I have a hold on you completely. Remember when you promised that I could have you if anything happened to my life partner?"

Angel backed into the wall startled responding,

"No, no I don't."

Scarlett got up from the desk, walking over to Angel replying,

"Sure, you do, it's what we made as a agreement back in High School after we broke up. We agreed that if either one of us stays single or loses their partner, we hook back up."

Angel shook her head no back and forth repeatedly responding,

"No, no, this can't be that time."

Scarlett got closer to Angel then rubbed her shoulder gently replying,

"Oh yes it is, see because my wife died in a fatal car crash and my children got taken back to Oregon to their real parents, so I am all alone. So, let's say we go show your friends and everyone what a wonderful couple we are again."

Angel felt Scarlett pinching her arm as they exited the office then switched to holding hands. Shauna happen to catch glimpse of them holding hands shaking her head no in disapproval. As Angel locked eyes on a customer that had gray eyes, brunette pixie hair, five feet ten inches and one hundred eighty pounds.

Scarlett gave a jealous look at the customer and pushed Angel to the counter. Angel felt a shiver down her spine as she whispered to Shauna,

"Keep a close eye on that brunette with a pixie cut not sure who she is just know Scarlett is jealous of her."

Shauna winked going to meet the brunette for her order. Scarlett growled in Angel's ear.

"What is that kid doing?"

Angel shrugged responding,

"Doing her job, taking a order."

Scarlett put her hand on Angel's shoulder then dug her nails in replying,

"That brunette is about to be history, order her out of here or I will shoot everyone in this damn store."

Angel squealed with Scarlett hurting her with tears as she called to Shauna,

"Who is that lady you are ordering from?"

Shauna raised a brow then kneel down asking the ladies name as Shauna replied back,

"Her name is Jana, why?"

Angel felt Scarlett pinching even harder whispering,

"Do it or everyone dies."

Angel felt a tear run down her face telling Shauna,

"Jana, needs to leave."

Jana got up from her table walked over to Angel with furious red eyes then stood at the counter with their eyes locked,

"I will not leave this store until I get my reading through and some coffee, I am a customer and not to be picked out of this crowd to be harassed by some bitch."

Scarlett pulled the gun on Angel's back with tears still flowing,

"Please, Jana, I beg you to leave."

Jana looked closer at Angel seeing tears in the woman's eyes then looked at Scarlett with a snarled response,

"You are jealous of me, so you are going to kill the owner, nice woman, real nice. I am leaving so innocent people don't get hurt. Shauna give me a call when that bitch has left this fucking building."

Jana walked back to her table, grabbed her purse and left. Angel felt so bad for that woman, she hadn't done anything wrong. Angel did everything she could not to scream.
