1 THE BEST FRIEND.

Scarlet woke up to the strong rays of sunlight shining through her bedside window. She turned and looked at the other corner of the room to find that her best friend's blanket had already fallen to the floor.

She furrowed her brows as she walked over to pick up the blanket and place it back onto the person sleeping peacefully. She looked at the perfectly sculpture face with pale skin and perfect-angled brows. She smirked at what she was looking at. How could one sleep so soundly and look like an angel sent from above.

Scarlet has always been in love with her best friend for as long as she could remember. Their parents were very close, hence they were already destined to be best friends since birth. Very often, both families would hold gatherings and short trips together.

Although they had already spent most of their younger years together, Scarlet wished that they would never part ways. Every year on her birthday, she would always make the one same wish. Which was for her and Alex to stay the way they are, together, FOREVER.

She wanted to hold on to that wish so badly. So when she learned that Alex was working towards attending university in Singapore. She started to buck up and put her mind into studying hard, just so she could follow Alex to the same university. Which also explain why they were roommates now. They have moved all the way to Singapore, away from their hometown in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Scarlet had really enjoyed the 2 years living under the same roof with the person she loved dearly. But since it was already the last school term, Scarlet would have to come out with another reason for them to continue staying together.

Alex was born a bright child, being at the top of every class, and was always the teacher's favourite. On the other hand, Scarlet and books never really get along. So it was really a surprise for everyone when she announced she got accepted into NUS, one of the top university in Singapore. She wasn't born stupid, she just hated to use energy to understand things that she wasn't going to use at all in the future.

"Hey...." Alex's eyes suddenly flew open. Which almost caught Scarlet off guard. "I was dreaming about a land where you could have unlimited pizza. It was like paradise." Alex said with a sheepish smile and sleepy eyes.

Scarlet just stared blankly, unsure of what to reply to what she just heard. "You're fucking weird!" She finally said after a few seconds.

They were going through a strict diet, which excluded pizza or deserts from their menu, for a whole month. Funny thing is, Alex was the one that suggested the diet. And was already thinking of breaking the rules just after 2 days.

Alex smile then turned to the other side, placing the pillow above her head to block the sun and mumbled"I'm going back to Pizza land... "

"NO! WAKE UP!!!! It's way past noon already!" Scarlet exclaimed as she shook the body furiously in front of her. "You're not going to sleep away another beautiful day..." she whined.

"Alexis!" Scarlet yelled again as she got no response. She never really know what to do with the person in front of her. Alex always got her way around Scarlet, as Scarlet was extremely soft-hearted towards Alex.

"Okay. Okayy... " Alex said sleepily as she slowly climbed out of bed. As she head over to their tiny shared bathroom, she peeked out with her toothbrush stuck in her mouth with toothpaste foam and said "Could we go get pizza? I'm really craving it..."
