2 BEING DIFFERENT.

30minutes later, they finally left home and headed to a local pizza shop. Scarlet could never go against Alexis wishes. As long as her best friend was happy, she was willing to compromise.

Ever since young, Scarlet's instincts had always been to protect Alexis. Even though Alexis was actually older than Scarlet by a few days. Scarlet was a daredevil and have never been afraid of anything.

Although Scarlet's actions were a bit tomboyish, she had natural feminine curves. It wasn't that she didn't attract the opposite sex, but no one was actually brave enough to approach her. Scarlet favour gothic clothing, so she had to her a mysterious unapproachable aura.

When they were still in high school, Scarlet already realized the differences between her and other girls her age. While other girls around her were gushing about boys and finding ways to attract the hottest guys in school. Scarlet couldn't even be bothered to dress up for anything. She practically wore pyjamas to school.

Scarlet mostly spent her time trying to avoid the dramas around her, though she still enjoys watching a good show. Like when Rachel Koh, the self-proclaimed hottest chic in school, will do all she can to get the slightest bit of attention from Scott Swardovski - Scarlet's elder brother.

Surprising, but yes. Scarlet was related to the hottest guy in town. Although they were from the same family, one was an attention seeker, while the other couldn't help but avoid being noticed. But since practically every girl in school went gaga over Scott. Scarlet found it hard to stay unnoticed as she was seen as the back door to get close to Scott.

Since girls were always pretending to be nice to her, hoping to get closer to Scott. She couldn't help being disgusted by their whore actions. Probably the reason why she was disgusted by both genders was due to having a dirtbag brother and slutty schoolmates.

...

Upon reaching home, Scarlet noticed it was already past 8. She still had to complete her assignment if she wanted to make it before the deadlines. She sighed to herself. If only she didn't force Alexis to head out earlier that day, she wouldn't be in such a tight situation right now. The trees shook furiously against the wind, forecasting a huge storm later.

"If it rains, I won't wake up till tomorrow!" Alexis said childishly giving a slight jump. Scarlet smiled at the sight, Alexis looked really cute. They were both 20 years old, and although Alexis was book smart, Scarlet was street smart which made her slightly more matured.

Inside their small rented apartment. Scarlet was busy doing up her assignment, while Alexis was busy texting Davis. They have been seeing each other on and off for about 8 months now.

Scarlet peeked at Alexis through the mirror on her desk and sneered when she saw the smile on Alexis's face, she looked really happy. "Who was Davis to make her smile that way?" Scarlet thought to herself. She was jealous and felt a little sour inside. Lucky for her, Davis was a senior and would be ending his term next month.

Scarlet and Davis never got along, although she couldn't find any faults in him. She refused to believe any guy was worthy enough of Alexis. She also couldn't be bothered to be nice to him. Because to her, Davis was just another guy that will end up hurting Alexis. And when he does, she'll break him.

Suddenly, Scarlet's phone rang. She furrowed her brows to the sight of the caller ID. She contemplated for a bit, wondering if she should answer the call. As she was about to pick up... the ringing stopped. She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding.

At that moment, footsteps could be heard outside, followed by loud bangs. Then a familiar voice called out "Scarlet! You home? Alexis?" That voice... belonged to the one person she wished didn't exist in her life.
