15 CHAPTER 15: Liar...

"Give me back my crystal globe!" Ashen screamed lunging at Makin, as he tried to snatch the globe back only for Makin to avoid him completely not even allowing him to get close,

"Oh..what do we have here…"

"You were able to get the crystal globe," said a boy Ashen had never seen or noticed before as he suddenly appeared in the clearing where he stood in front of Makin,

The number two was written across his shirt and since Ashen was unfamiliar with him, he immediately assumed that he belonged to another class since his proud face and light brown hair was something he hadn't come across,

"Ashen?" said the second person that joined them in the clearing who turned out to be Wein, Makin's best friend who took one look at the situation in front of him and could only sigh deep within him,

"Dosan, can you believe that this rabbit wants to steal my globe from me?" Makin smirked turning around to speak to the first boy who had arrived first while informing him with one look, the role he was going to have to plan,

"Liar. I got here first," Ashen shouted, with a flushed face as he battled his fear and his need to pass the test and get back the globe which actually belonged to him, trying his best to meet Wein's eyes whose gaze was fixed on Makin as he tried to figure out if his friend was really telling the truth,

"Rank 50?" Dosan spat out almost as if he drank something bitter that he found hard to stomach, as he looked at the boy standing in front of them with a scroll on his face,

"Know your place, 50," Dosan addressed him, using his rank with no interest in knowing his name before, taking a step closer to Ashen from the Makin's side where you stood,

"Makin got here first cause he's obviously rank one and would have definitely been faster than you. If the globe belongs to you then why is it in Makin's hands?" Asked Dosan with a fierce smirk on his face knowing fully well that there was no way Ashen was getting the globe back as long as it was in their hands,

Hearing the question, Ashen himself grew still, seeing as how they were three and he was all alone since no matter how many times he tried to meet Wein's eyes whom he thought would actually care to know the truth, he never once looked at his face,

"Better luck next time," Makin said in a sing-song voice the moment he saw all the fight leave Ashen's eyes completely whose shoulders drooped, bending his head to hide the tears that pooled at the corners of his eyes as Ashen again felt useless and weak, incapable of defending the little amount of good luck that had unexpectedly dropped in his lap,

"Let's go," Dosan said with a smile, glad that they had been able to finally get the globe without much trouble on their own part,

Turning around with all the confidence in the world Makin held the globe looking at it with a delighted expression on his face as Dosan and Wein followed behind him as they all made to leave when suddenly Ashen's voice was heard from behind them,

"Take my globe and the minute we get back, I will report you. I will tell the headmaster that you stole it from me and you and I both how strong his moral code is?" Ashen said in a loud voice with an unyielding look in his eyes unwilling to let the globe go without a fight, squeezing the wand he held in his hand tightly, prepared to begin casting spells if it came down to it,

"...and who exactly is going to believe you?" Dosan asked as he mocked Ashen, turning half of his face around to look at the tiny bug that still dared to speak to them,

"...Noone at first but that's until I ask the headmaster to use a truth spell on me and on each of you," Ashen boldly said with a smile, seeing that the more he spoke the more feasible the plan seemed and the more annoyed Dosan and Makin got, cause even though Makin didn't speak to him and continued holding the globe, his silence told him a lot more,

"Makin don't mind him...no one is going to believe him and the headmaster won't even pay attention to him. I mean look at him..his rank is the lowest compared to you," Wein persuaded, as he began doing his best to convince Makin to ignore Ashen the moment he noticed the nasty expression on Makin's face,

Which instantly pissed Ashen off, seeing as the words Wein said actually worked and Makin was just about to continue walking away,

"If what Wein said is true then why then did the headmaster give me a gold wand meant only for students in their fourth year," Ashen proudly said lifting his wand with pride, as the bottom half of it lined in gold could be clearly seen even from where Makin stood having already turned around to see the nonsense Ashen was spilling from his mouth only to become more aggrieved to find out that it was true,

"Even the gods know that I was really going to let you live but you just had to be a smart ass…" Makin mumbled to himself low enough for anyone but Wein, who was standing right beside him to hear as he instantly paled the moment he heard it.
