3 Gift

In the front of the Yun Clan's gate, countless alchemists were aligned, waiting to be allowed to enter. Left to them, some dejected people were going back to the feet of the mountain.

Clearly, it was those ones who had already tried, but only to fail in front of the problem. Some of the people on the right file, who only came to try out their luck as their refinement skills and knowledge where insufficient to face such a troublesome matter, had their spirits affected by that somewhat dark aura and could only choose to resign.

But they were clearly a minority, and the right file was still as long as one's gaze could see. After all, the reward promised to cure the young master of the great Yun Clan was evidently not small.

At the gate, two elders, as well as some guards in a dark and fierce armor were separating the human line into two files. One was those alchemists under the fifth tier, and the other one the alchemist of the fifth tier and above.

Clearly, the last file did not have many people. But those people all exuded, without exception, a majestic and dignified aura. As the elder in charge of them greeted them, he ensured that a guard escorted them to the room where the the little boy was currently lying, sick.

As for the other line, the elder politely asked them if they had heard of such a case before. And those quite renowned alchemist could only leave after their negative reply, as the elder thanked them. However, such things were not absolute. As an example, on the second day, an middle aged man with a burly appearance was allowed to enter, after describing that his grandsons had almost the same problem, but as they were twins, one got the cold illness while the other one got the hot sickness.

Such cases of someone from the second file entering occured around ten times a day. Clearly, this number was quite small, and there was no lack of jealous gazes shot toward them.

However, in three days, no one managed to cure the little Yun Yang. Due to this, the atmosphere in the palace was quite morose.

To thank those alchemist who met the criteria and were allowed to enter inside the palace, the Yun Clan gave each of them ten thousand gold coins, even if they did not manage to find a suitable medicine. This little amount of money could  be counted as a compensation for the travel.

In Yun Yang's room, some people where standing next to the bed as an old man with a long beard was examining the bedridden child. This old man was well known in the Xia Empire. His identity as the alchemist of the imperial clan, as well as his tier six alchemist reputation was sufficient to grant him notoriety throughout the whole empire, as well as in the surrounding empires.

Right now, his Spiritual Force was spread around the little boy, enveloping him within a cocoon. As the Spiritual Force invaded Yun Yang's body, the old man frowned, seemingly facing something unexpected.

After a long while, he retracted his mental strength and sighed in a somewhat shocked manner.

"I'm not really certain… But…" The old man hesitated for a moment before speaking his doubts. "He don't seem like someone who is sick at all... However, the seed of his qi seems a little unstable. It don't seem like he will die. But if this goes on, he will become a cripple."

The old man sighed while shaking his head, feeling pity for the little boy, as well as for his family.l To think that the son of the Yun Clan's Leader would become a cripple at such a young age.

He bid his farewell and slowly left the room, letting time to the people here to digest the shock brought by this information.

In the room, lit by the evening sun rays passing through the window, a man held his wife who was crying in his embrace. A bitter smile covered his face, as he thought of how hard life would be for his son if he was to become a cripple so young.

However, as the leader of such a big clan, his spirit was evidently not weak. As time passed, he quickly recovered and hid the sorrow in his heart, conforting his wife.

"Don't lose hope. There's still time. Hopefully someone will come and help him."

As the sun disappeared behind the mountains, darkness slowly spread across the sky. In a room, a child was quietly sleeping, his skin slowly became cold, and he started to shiver.

His mother had fallen asleep on a chair from fatigue and anxiousness. The only person awake was a eight years old girl.

Yun Shan had to go back to care of the matters of the clan and left some time ago.

In front of the door, a beautiful woman suddenly appeared, without making the slightest noise. She appeared like an fire fairy, her red hair cascading downwards, falling under her buttocks. Her fairy like face wore an enchanting and elegant smile, her green eyes were so clear that one could sink into them and lost himself inside, his mind mesmerized by her charm.

Her slender body was flawless, and if one said she was the goddess of the flames, no one would doubt this.

As she took a peek inside the room, she gently knocked against the wall to announce her presence before walking inside. However, her body appeared more like sliding than walking. If one looked closely, it appeared that she was walking on thin air, five centimeters above the ground.

As she drifted inside the room, Yun Xun sensed her presence and turned around, before coming to a stop, seemingly shocked by the smile of the beautiful lady walking inside the room.

As she neared the bed, she eyed the little boy shivering under the blanket.

She then extended her Mental Force and eyed the situation inside of Yun Yang's body, before shock flashed past her eyes. However she quickly recovered and smiled before taking out a jade medallion.

The jade was of two colors, each one intertwining with the other. One was a bright clear green, the other one was a slightly dark amber. Inside of the jade piece, there seemed to be a long, thin hair. This hair was extremely thin, but also extremely mysterious, because the more one tried to sense it, the more it would be difficult to sense it.

She slowly hung the medallion to Yun Yang's neck before withdrawing her soft hands.

As she eyed the little boy, she smiled and said to his sister :

"Please don't talk about my venue. If they ask where this medallion came from, tell them it's a gift from the flame's goddess." A mocking smile appeared in her eyes before she slowly walked out, saying one last sentence. "Do not withdraw this medallion from him, if one do such a thing, the medallion will burn him to ashes."

As she her body neared the door, she suddenly vanished, an after image slowly fading into nothingness.
