2 An unusual illness

Two days after this incident, where Yun Yang was discovered in a strange state by his grandfather, everything had returned to calm at the Yun clan. The little boy had been regularly checked by his father, who still couldn't find any abnormalities. Somehow, other than being relieved, he was even more worried of the boldness of his two years old son. Still, the peaceful and serene atmosphere of the mountaintop eased the worry from Yun Yang's parents' hearts.

However, this little bit of peace didn't continue for too long. As the little boy continued to regularly escape from his nurse's surveillance, he would go and run into the numerous halls of the palace. He alone was sufficient to break the quietness of the clan.

His joyous laughter and liveliness caused smiles to appear on the faces of the servants, while those in charge of him didn't know whether to laugh or cry, facing this angelic little demon.

By one day of summer, the usual liveliness of the Yun clan was replaced by quietness. As Yun Yun, Yun Yang's big sister came to wake him up, she found him moaning under a great fever.

Immediately, she ran to her mother, to tell her about her brother's illness. Soon after, they came to the bedridden two years old young master, and her mother checked the little boy's condition.

She was quiet worried to found out that his forehead was hot to the point where one could cook an egg on it. She quickly issued orders to a maid to bring a bucket of cold water as well as some medicines to alleviate the fever.

When the maid came back, Yun Xun swiftly undressed her son and used a white handkerchief to wash his body with the water, before placing it on his forehead to cool up the heat.

She also fed him with medicines to alleviate the fever. However, his fever kept on climbing. As time passed, Yun Yang's fever gradually resorbed and he woke up at the end of the afternoon.

As everyone thought he would be completely healed, his temperature continued to cool down. As Yun Xun used all of her time to take care of her son, her worry intensified, and slowly spread around her.

Finally, Yun Yang's father, Yun Shan, got free of his duties and came to see how is son was doing.

Durong the following days, this cycle of heating up and cooling down of Yun Yang's temperature continued, no matter how many ways his parents tried to make him recover.

Even Yun Cheng and the Yun clan's alchemists couldn't do anything to cure this strange illness.

As the illness couldn't be healed by any means in their possession, they issued a warrant promising a huge reward for any alchemist who could manage to heal the Yun clan's young master, and describing the symptoms.

With the Yun clan's influence, the news swiftly spread through the Xia Empire, where the Yun Clan was located, and passed through the frontiers, spreading across the other empires and countries around the Xia Empire.

In a luxurious inn, faraway from the Xia Empire, two men were talking about the breaking news. As one of them brought the matter of the Yun Clan's young master, the other suddenly asked

"You plan on going there ?" While saying that, he seemed a little doubtful. As the other man heard that, he replied mockingly

"As if. Even the Yun Clan's alchemist, who is probably a fifth or sixth tier alchemist couldn't do anything. How am I supposed to help, I only stepped in the fifth tier two years ago. Other than sixth tier alchemists and higher, I'm afraid nobody have the ability to help."

" Ah..." His companion quietly sighed, feeling pity for the Yun Clan. To find a tier sixth alchemist was no easy matter.

Alchemy might be something that anyone can try, but the number of people who can step into the fourth tier was really low. One must know that if the Mental Force is sufficient to climb up to the third tier of alchemy, one must fuse Qi and Mental force in order to step into the realm of tier four alchemist. As to those legendary seventh tier and above alchemists, not many people knew which kind of energy they were using...

The man on the left suddenly commented

"What a strange occurrence... The rumors says that the little boy's body is alternating between extreme heat and extreme cold. However, to think that he can endure such a weird and strong illness, it does not seem to be natural... Maybe poison..."

As the man, who seemed in his thirties spoke, the younger man on the right side of the table countered him

"As you said, with such a strong illness, how can he survive ? However, poison is made to kill, and what would be the use of poisoning someone with such a potent poison if it could not kill him. Therefore, it is unlikely to be poison. It's still an extremely strange case." He said while accentuating each time he used the word poison. A slightly mocking smile hung on his face. The older man shut is mouth before sighing and he suddenly switched the topic.

"Have you heard of the auction that..."

As the two men continued to talk, a small shadow of around one and a half meter tall moved in a corner before exiting the inn without anyone noticing...

That mysterious person who was clothed in black and wearing a doupeng sucked in a deep breath of air before softly muttering in his heart "hot and cold cycles... Master, maybe this time I've found a suitable successor for you."

Suddenly, that mysterious person vanished without drawing any attention, as if he had never been here.
