5 The Players

*BEEP! BEEP!*

The alarm went off. After a lot of sleepless nights, Danny finally opened his eyes without his usual sleepiness. He slowly yawned and looked at the alarm.

[6:30 a.m]

"Time to get up!" he said to himself as he took his head off the pillow. Danny usually gets up early, even though he sleeps late. But today he was out cold since he was too tired, the day before.

After he woke up, he went straight to his morning bath and got dressed for school. Wearing his normal jacket over the t-shirt like every other day, he went off to take the breakfast.

His aunt had prepared slices of bread with peanut butter. His nephew, Clara, who was 2 years younger than him, was eating the food in a hurry.

"Got practice Clara?" asked Danny. Clara was a blonde girl with fair skin. She looked cute and she was friendly. Unlike the aunt, Clara was a good person.

"Yes bro," said Clara in her innocent tone. "Hehe.. Well good luck making it in time." said Danny as he sat down on the other side of the table getting ready to eat.

<Energy: 100/100>

His energy was full. From the looks of it, sleeping kept his energy unused. His aunt was on the phone, calling her boyfriend at the start of the day.

"Wretched bitch!" thought Danny looking at the nasty woman. She had already left two husbands. Clara was the child of the first husband. Her brother was taken away by her father, when the aunt and the guy divorced.

Clara hated her mother. The reason her father got divorced was because the aunt was having an affair with another person. She hated her for separating her from her little brother.

Danny was a fast eater. He gobbled down the food even faster than Clara. As Clara finished her plate, Danny was too. Both of them got their hands washed and took off from the house.

Danny always loved to have a little walk through the neighborhood in the mornings. As Clara and Danny got off their lawn, the morning school bus came. Most of the students who had training or other curricular activities in the morning, took the morning bus to school.

Well Danny wasn't a guy who did any of that, so he just walked to school in the morning, talking with one or two of his acquaintances.

The morning bus stopped right in front of their lawn and Clara ran to the bus waving Danny goodbye. Danny waved back as the girl got on the bus.

The bus took off and Danny was  stranded alone in the streets. He watched as the bus went down the street. Then he looked at the neighbor's house. "Ahhhhh.. The girl." said Danny with a grin on his face looking at the house.

But waiting there for the girl to show up was stupid. Since it was the first day, the parents must be dropping her off. So as usual, Danny started to walk down Parker's Lane.

About 30 houses lie on Parker's Lane. It was quite a big street. And at the end of the street lies their school. Mostly kids from other streets took the bus. Parker's Lane was the closest to their school.

After about 20 minutes, he reached the school. Kids were flooding in, through the gates. Entering the school building, Danny passed on through the hallway. Some kids were giving off newspapers, playing around, ganging up and flirting in the hallway.

It was the usual morning. Danny walked into his class, "The class of Weirdos." Most of the kids called them weirdos since most of them were lazy kids, but each one of them were skilled. And it was a miracle that all of them have been in the same class since kindergarten.

So every year their class still comes to the top ranks in the exams. Some kids were sitting at their desks playing cards. Some were just looking at their phones.

As Danny walked into the class, suddenly a strange feeling came up. He was feeling something powerful near him. As Danny walked to his seat it got stronger and stronger.

He was a bit scared. He looked around. Suddenly, he had his eyes caught on another guy in the class. It was a boy.

"What the hell is this!"

The boy was giving off a strange aura. Suddenly the boy looked back at him. They both looked surprised. "What the hell is happening!!" Danny thought as both of them looked at eachother, shocked.

"Is he another guy with this game thing! Is that... Is that another player!!!"

Danny was shocked. A guy in his own class had supernatural powers just like him!

"What now?? Would this guy kill me! Do I need to kill this guy! The mission said, "Kill a player!"

Danny was clueless. He had no idea what to do. Suddenly the bell rang. All the students quickly went back to their seats and sat down. The mathematics teacher rushed into the class.

Danny and the other student couldn't do anything. They can't reveal their powers to others just like that. The other student was a guy who moved into Parker's Lane 3 months ago.

The guy was a white haired boy, handsome and had fair skin. His hair was messy but it fitted him. He was wearing a black shirt in a white jacket. Danny had talked to him once or twice before. But he wasn't much of a trusted friend. The guy had dead eyes. Those eyes tell a sad story.

Danny's heart was beating, he was wondering if it was his end. But can he fight him? What powers does he have? All of these questions were not yet answered. But since he was an acquaintance, there was a slight chance for Danny to think that he wouldn't fight.

Suddenly another strange feeling came from outside of the class. "Another one!! Could it be another one!" thought Danny as he looked at the doorway. The door opened.

It was the new girl who moved into Danny's next door house. She was another player. "Things got a whole lot worse!!" thought Danny looking at the newcomer.

She was a blonde and her eyes were blue. She was almost as tall as Danny. As she stepped in she got startled too. Then she looked in the direction of Danny and the other boy.

Her eyes told she was scared as much as the other two. "NOW! Everyone! Meet your new friend! Let's ask her to introduce herself shall we?" yelled out the teacher as the girl was staring at the two boys.

The girl suddenly turned to the teacher and smiled. "Okay girl. Let's hear a few words about you!" said the maths teacher to the girl, showing her to the front of the class.

She stood in the front. "Umm.. I'm Hannah. I like to read books mostly. And.. I would like to get to know you all." said the girl, with some trembling words.

Then she walked through the class to an empty chair. To Danny's surprise, the empty chair was in between Danny's chair and the white haired boy's chair.

"Nice.." said Danny as he looked at the girl. The girl sat there looking at the two boys.

"What's happening! Just as I found my new date! And if she wants to kill me she'll kill me straight away! Probably in sleep!!"

Danny was frightened. Hannah was his new neighbour. It's not hard to kill each other when you live next to each other.

"Ok people! Get your books out!" yelled out the teacher as he started the lesson. Now the three players had no choice but to wait and see what happens. Who will make the first move?

After about half an hour of explaining the lesson, the teacher started to jot down the math problems on the white board.

As the teacher turned around, most of the students reached for their pockets to get their phones. Danny was a student too, so he did the same.

He searched for the phone inside his pockets, but they were empty. "Oh hell no! I left it at home!" said Danny as he bumped his head on the table, purposely.

Danny looked at the boy and the girl again. Danny was on the right row to the girl's and the other boy was on the left one. They looked at eachother again. But this time the glance wasn't deadly. It was a worrying one.

As the hours flew by, with the lessons, the school ended. The bell rang and all the kids rushed out. Danny got lost in the sea of kids rushing outside. He couldn't keep track of Hannah or the other guy.

Danny lost sight of them. "Well maybe it's for the best. Maybe I won't die until I get home." said Danny as he walked to the gate.

"Eh! It's that guy!"

To his surprise, the white haired boy was waiting at the gate. It looked like he was waiting for him. He gestured from his hand to come there.

Danny was surprised. The guy didn't have the intention to kill in his face. Danny went to the gate and stood beside him.

"Let's wait for the girl to come too." he said in a calm tone. "Ok.." said Danny looking at the big crowd of students, waiting for the girl to appear.

Then they saw the girl appearing exiting from the school building. Everyone came to the gate, so they just had to wait there. There was no way to run and it seemed like there was no reason either.

As the girl came closer, the white haired boy also signalled the girl to come there. Then the girl also came.  She smiled at the two. Then they smiled back.

"Do you have rides guys?" asked the boy from Danny and Hannah. "NOPE" answered Danny. "No.. I walk." said Hannah.

"Oh.. then let's walk home and have a little chat on the way." said the guy as he stepped out onto the street. Then both Danny and Hannah followed him.
