21 New Weapons

"Holy shit!" 

Danny screamed looking at the thousands of weapons. There were millions and millions of swords, staffs, claymores and all kinds of weapons. 

And there weren't any people to work. There were short creatures walking around. They looked like little goblins. 

All of those creatures were fully suited in a worker suit and all of them were forging the beautiful weapons. 

Some poured in the molten metals into a sword shaped mold and cooled them down to create the sword. 

"How's this wonder boy! Hahaha!!" 

The old man howled looking at his own creations. 

Claus and the two seniors have already been here a lot of times before, but the smithery still made them breathless.

"What are those creatures??" asked Hannah from the old man. She sounded like she was scared of them. 

"Ahh darling! They are my workers! They are known as Drolls! When you teach them the way and give them what they need to live, they will do anything for us!"

The man said, looking proudly at the minion-like creatures. 

They were very short, about 3 and a half inches in height and the things had long years. It was fat and grey in colour. 

"Wonderful aren't they!" the old man crowed as the drolls forged away. 

Conor looked at the man and the drolls. *Not much of a difference!* he thought to himself looking at the creatures. 

"So... How did you catch them??" 

Conor asked the old man. 

"Oh boy! Don't you know about the creatures that live behind the veil?" asked the old man from Conor.

"No... I don't!" 

The old man stared at Conor in a weird way. "WHAT!!"

Conor got jump scared by the old man's reaction. "And what's the veil?" Conor asked him again, shamelessly. 

Claus placed his palm on his face bearing the embarrassment. 

"Umm.. we just met this team yesterday!" hopped in Reno to clear the confusion.

The old man looked at the 3 members of Conor's team. 

"My my! The veil is the thing that hides all the magic from the normal society.. Only a system user or a person who has interacted with a system user can see and feel the world behind the veil!" 

The old man explained to the team. He looked up at Hannah. 

"Didn't you know? I feel more power inside you!" 

Hannah shook her head. 

"Aish... Well! Now you know! And guys it's the Witch Hunt! Keep your heads down!!" 

The old man howled looking at the 3 newbies. The old man turned to Claus.

"So... Now I know why you decided to drop by.. but tell me one thing! Why decide to recruit new ones?"

The old man asked suspiciously from Claus. 

"Because.. One of their team is a Hunter!" answered Claus. 

Conor, Danny and Hannah finally figured out why Claus decided to let them live. 

The Hunter's system was a system that was very rarely achieved by the players. A man with a Hunter's system is known to live forever or die within a short time. 

"I get it now! All the pieces are coming together!" the old man yelled. 

"Barney! These are newbies! I needed weapons, not a fucking explanation about the vale!" 

Claus was a very angry guy. His face spoke of the temper of the man. 

"Well shit! You could've given them a firm explanation, old boy!" howled the old man as he walked through the smithery. 

"Well not much time to waste!! Follow me!" 

The whole team followed Barney as he moved along the smithery. 

*Cling* *TREEENGG* *TINGTING*

The whole smithery was noisy as hell. Danny was wondering how the old man survived through all these noises.

While they followed Barney, Conor stepped up to ask Claus something.

"So.. Why did you save us? You could've killed us and kept him!" Conor asked bravely from Claus. 

Claus looked at the suspicious face of Conor.

"Because you and the girl have guts! All three of you can survive through this hunt! And I needed to multiply my team in numbers because we have to be prepared!" 

Answered Claus. Hannah and Danny listened closely to Claus. Conor didn't ask more. 

*All these people are driven by the hunger for power! Is it only a matter of time before I do?* Conor asked himself.

There were 3 drolls following them behind. They had little hammers on their hands. They looked like they were guarding Barney. 

"Guys!! Don't let those nasty brutes steal your wallets! Those things are real gold diggers!" howled the old man looking at the 3 drolls following them.

Danny was thinking about the vale they talked about. 

*The veil! When someone interacts with a user they see and feel things beyond the veil!* thought Danny as he walked with them. 

He finally figured out how he was able to see the ghoul. It was because he touched Linda. 

Suddenly the old man stopped walking. It was a huge showcase of weapons. 

Huge swords, staffs, axes and all kinds of weapons were there. All of them were placed in wooden hangers and boxes. 

"Woah!"

Gasped the set of newbies. There were enormous claymores, enormous hammers and double swords even. 

"Really nice! Really nice!" yelled Conor who suddenly forgot about Claus's confession. 

"Hahaha.. Thank you boy!" said Barney looking at his own beautiful creations. 

Danny was looking at a large red and black claymore. He couldn't take his eyes off the weapon. 

Claus saw Danny staring at the Claymore. 

"Wonderful isn't it! That's just what I wanted you to use!" said Claus, placing a hand on Danny's left shoulder.

Hannah and Conor looked at the sword Danny was staring at. 

"That's a nice one Danny! It might suit you!!" said Hannah excitedly. Conor looked at the size of the sword and the size of Danny.

"It's just perfect!" 

Conor was dying inside. 

"That's the perfect choice Danny! Barney! Give him the Red Ruby!" said Claus and got his phone.

Barney looked at Claus surprised. *A Red Ruby for that boy huh? This is interesting!* Barney thought as he lifted up the sword from two wooden arms which were holding it. 

The blade was very wide. The edges were coloured with red lines and a linear pattern was drawn on the wide blade. 

The blade was heavy like hell. A normal person could never lift the blade up. 

But Barney was an immensely strong mage. He could possibly lift anything. Barney took the sword into his hands. 

Barney took a look at Danny. The boy who was now getting to wield a Red Ruby. 

Suddenly he threw the sword to Danny. 

Danny couldn't decide if to catch it or jump back. Suddenly, he threw his hands towards the sword and gripped it with both his hands. 

Suddenly, he could lift the sword easily, like a wooden stick. The power of wielding the sword was amazing. 

Danny couldn't feel any better. 

*Amazing! This is just amazing!* Danny thought as the boy held the sword with both his hands. 

"Wonderful! Just brilliant!" yelled the old man. Claus smiled looking at the boy. 

"Hahahaha!! Way to go boy!" the man said as he clapped to the boy. 

*What the fuck! This shrimp could lift the sword like it's a feather!* 

Conor was shocked by the boy's skills. Reno saw Conor's face and giggled. 

"Jealous huh? Don't worry! Mages have some tricks up their asses too!" said Reno and patted the boy in the back.  

"Well that's not the end boy.. Now we have to combine the sword with your system! Then it's all yours!!" said Barney and summoned his staff to his hands.

"Hold out your sword gripping it by the bottom of the hilt Danny!" said Barney holding his staff in his right hand. 

Danny held the sword out. Barney gripped the top of the hilt by his right hand.

Then Barney closed his eyes. Suddenly he opened them and a yellow light was emitting from Barney's eyes. 

Suddenly Danny felt a lot of aura coming through the sword into his body. 

"From the power of my soul, let this sword be forged as one!" 

The bright light shut Danny's eyes forcefully.

Barney said as he held the sword. Suddenly, a swirl of yellow dust spinned around them and the sword Danny was gripping onto, slowly turned into a yellow dust and disappeared.

Danny opened his eyes again. 

"Check your inventory boy!" said Barney. 

Danny closed his eyes and opened his

He had two weapons in his inventory now. 

"I have the sword!" jabbered Danny. 

"So? The other two newbies! What are you waiting for? Go find your weapons!" said Barney looking at Conor and Hannah. 

Reno smirked at Conor. "Let's go boy!" said Reno and dragged Conor by the hoodie of his white jacket. 

Then Draco took Hannah to check out a good weapon for a vampire. 

Danny and Claus stood alone with the sneaky drolls as the other four searched for their weapons. 

~ Conor ~

Conor took a look at the set of staffs inside the glass boxes. All of them were floating. It was magical and the aura could be felt when they were close to them. 

Conor spotted a staff that looked heavy and strong. He pointed to the staff and said, "This one's good!"

Reno looked at Conor. "Nah.. Mages don't have that much strength.. They aren't meant to be melee attackers!" 

Reno said, looking at the boy. Then Barney came to them. 

"Yes.. that one doesn't fit the boy!" agreed Barney. "But this one will!"

He showed them a huge double headed spear. It was a purple and a white double headed spear. 

"What the fuck! That's a huge melee weapon!" yelled Reno, shocked. It was wrong. Mages only used a staff.

"We'll... Always remember guys! If you wanna master the game, don't play by the rules of the game!" howled Barney. 

Then he took the spear out of the glass box and handed it to Conor. 

Conor held it up. It was light and easy to handle. Suddenly, a bright purple flame lit up the two ends of the spear.

[ Moonstone spear unlocked ]

"Wait what! I haven't even combined it with my system yet!" Conor said, confused by the reaction of the spear.

"Well that's one advantage of being a mage kid!" said Barney. "You don't have to merge a weapon which is not wielded by a player!" 

*Heh! Not bad after all!* thought Conor as he made the spear disappear. 

~ Hannah ~

"So what's the best weapon for a vampire?"

Hannah asked Draco while she searched through the swords to find a one that fitted her. 

"I have 2 short swords.. I don't know what might fit you though!" said Draco. 

Hannah looked at the swords inside the glass boxes. There were various kinds of weapons, even katanas. But none of them quite suited Hannah. 

"So... Don't like anything here?" asked Draco.

Hannah shook her head. 

"Hmmm.. What's going on here! The girl doesn't have a clear decision?" asked Barney who has finally come to help Hannah. 

"No.. They just don't suit me!" said Hannah.

"As a vampire, it is hard to find a good weapon!" said Barney. "But as a Smith! I must know all the secrets!" 

Barney took a very long sword inside a scabbard from one of the glass boxes. 

Then he handed it to Hannah. 

"A long sword! The best possible weapon a vampire could have.." said Barney and gave the sword to Hannah. 

Hannah took it and removed it from the scabbard. The sword was indeed very long. And it was easy for Hannah to handle. 

"This is a sword which you can train on your own.. As a vampire, your moves are blessed with the skills of this sword." 

Barney jabbered as the girl slowly lifted up the sword. 

"This is indeed very nice! I think it suits me!" said Hannah, smiling kindly at the old man.

"Yes! It does suit you!" said Draco. 

"I think you're a vampire higher than level 10!" said Barney. 

"Yes I am! And I think I can merge the weapon on my own.. Can't I?"

"Indeed you can!" answered Barney.

The girl closed her eyes and exerted her mana into the sword. She placed the scabbard on the top of the glass box and gripped onto the sword.

Suddenly, the sword disappeared into ashes. 

[ Long sword unlocked ]

"Hahaha.. I unlocked it!"

Jabbered the girl. Draco patted the girl on the back. 

Danny, Conor and the two seniors watched her as she unlocked her weapon. 

"Bravo!" 

Suddenly, Danny and Conor yelled the same thing at once. 

The girl blushed shyly. Danny and Conor looked at each other expressionlessly. 

*TREEEENGG*

Suddenly a bell rang throughout the smithery. 

"Oh shit! It's another customer!!" yelled Barney. "Well you know the rules right Claus! No-one is revealed and no fights in the smithery!"

Suddenly Barney snapped his fingers and-

*ZWOOSH!*

All six of them disappeared. 

Danny opened up his eyes again. They were back at the van, right on their seats.

"What the fuck was that!"

Conor yelled from the back. 

"Well... Barney has more customers who are players just like us! He can't reveal their faces so.. yeah this happens!" explained Reno. 

"Well now it's time to get back guys! Otherwise we'll get attacked right now!" said Claus and started the van.

*VROOOM*

The team took off from the city.
