33 Daily Quests ~ part 02 ~

Danny and Conor walked into the woods as the sun sunk deeper into the earth. The skies were getting darker by the minute.

"Well it's good that it's dark. I think more Veil Lurkers will come at night!" said Danny as he walked along the woods. 

There were mosquitoes in the forest in the evening. The constant mosquito bites were a headache for the two boys.

They walked along the wood jumping over rocks and holes. 

"Where the fuck are you! Veil Lurkers!" Danny yelled, getting tired of looking for the beasts. 

"Screaming won't help! And don't scream! The police may still be scouting these areas!" said Conor. 

*Crack* *crack* *Crack*

Sticks and fallen down twigs hidden among the wild grass broke, each step they took. 

The grass in the forest was wildly grown, the grass blades were almost tall to their knees. 

"Any way to track down one of these Veil Lurkers?" asked Danny from Conor. 

"Nope!" answered Conor. 

"Shit! Well-"

*GRAAAARRR!!!!*

Suddenly, a growling sound came behind some trees. The creatures were hiding in the shadows, only the red eyes of the beasts can be seen by Danny and Conor.

*Shit! What the fuck!* 

Danny quickly summoned his claymore to his hands. Beside him, Conor summoned his spear. 

"Get ready!" yelled Conor as he charged his spear with lightning.

[ Mana : 61/100 ]

Danny's claymore lit up with a red fire as he charged with mana. 

[ Mana : 65/100 ]

The light emitting from the two weapons suddenly revealed the beasts lurking behind the shadows.

"Jesus! White wolves!!"

Danny and just read about them in the house. There were 5 white wolves surrounding Danny and Conor. 

[ White wolves : Common Veil Lurkers known to live in deep woods. In appearance, they are covered with white fur and immensely huge in size. ]

The wolves were gigantic and they were covered with white fur. Without its ferocious teeth, the beast was beautiful.

Suddenly, the wolves started to bark and jump at the two boys. 

But the two boys tried to slash them and the 3 wolves backed off, failing to sink their claws into the boys.

"Get away!" 

Danny yelled as he swung the sword at the wolves. *This is going nowhere! Time to make a move!*

Danny quickly jumped over the wolves. The immense power of a Hunter made him shoot into the air. 

Suddenly, he threw his claymore at one of the wolves in mid air. 

*GRRRAAAAARR!* 

The claymore sunk into the beast's back. It died instantly.

"Ha! Take that bitches!" Danny screamed as he landed back on the ground with a thump. He quickly summoned his sword back and got ready for the other two wolves. 

Meanwhile, Conor quickly dashed to the back of one of the wolves and tried to sting it with his spear.

But the wolf was fast. The wolf quickly dashed sideways and tried to attack Conor with it's deadly claw.

Conor quickly ducked and in the split second, he had a clear opening for the wolves heart. He was under the wolves head. 

Conor instantly stung the beast right in the heart and the spear sunk into it, shocking it with lightning.

2 beasts were dead but 3 more wolves circled around them, trying to make them their dinner. 

Danny looked up at his mana.

[ Mana : 54/100 ]

There was enough mana for the players. The advantage was for the players. 

*Now die beasts!* 

Danny dashed to the two beasts in front of him. The two wolves didn't back up this time. The wolves leapt at Danny as he dashed towards them.

Danny swung his sword towards a wolf and two of the legs of the beast got slashed. But the claws of the other wolf slashed Danny's chest.

"Idiot look out!" 

Conor quickly dashed towards the wolf who was attacking Danny and slashed it. By the immensely powerful slash, the wolf got beheaded.

The wolf which was cut by Danny was lying on the ground bleeding to death. Danny quickly killed the beast before it made any more moves.

There was only one white wolf left now. The wolf jumped back and forth with uncertainty. 

Suddenly, the wolf dashed back and ran through the forest. A white wolf was never good alone. It always needed a pack. And these ones were still younglings. 

"That's right! Scram!!" yelled Conor at the wolf. 

"That was a close one!" said Danny as he looked down at his wounds. The wounds have already closed up.

Hunter's heal very fast, but there are some systems that have more regeneration power. Danny's sweat shirt was ripped by the claw of the wolf. 

"Not another one! What the fuck!!!"

Danny waa going crazy. He couldn't let every single one of his clothes get pierced just like that. 

Danny looked up. It was nightfall. Then he looked at the time. 

[ 07:37 pm ]

"Goddamn!! Let's get out of here quickly!" said Danny. Then he looked up at his energy bar. 

[ Energy : 15/100 ]

*That's deadly! I'm almost out!* thought Danny.

Conor only had 14 energy units left. Both of them were in a hard position. 

"Well then! Let's move it! Only one more to go!" said Conor and pulled out some snacks from his pocket. "And... I brought these just in case we ran out of energy!" 

Conor knew that they would run out after running 2000m. So he decided to bring some snacks and chocolate bars just in case. 

"So! Where are we going to find Chrosmos?" 

Conor asked Danny, giving him some snacks and a chocolate bar. 

"Dunno! I asked Draco and he sent me a picture of a page of the codex that was written about Chrosmo, but it said that they were extremely rare creatures. It said that they could be found anywhere... Even in your backyard if you're lucky!"

Danny uttered as they walked out of the forest. 

Conor finished the snacks in no time and placed the covers back in his pocket. 

Danny finished his share too.

"So... We can't really stay here any longer! Let's hope to see one in the neighborhood!" said Conor.

Both of them walked to the road and stood there. There wasn't much energy left in them. They ate all the snacks but they were still so hungry.

Danny's energy bar was filled up for a decent amount. It was enough for him to get home. 

The two couldn't walk all the way home. They were too tired. 

Luckily, a taxi passed by them. Conor quickly stopped the taxi. 

"Hey! Can you drop us off at Parker's Lane?" asked Conor bending down. 

"Yes! Get in!"

The two boys got into the taxi. 

The taxi drove to Parker's Lane and then dropped them off at the turn. 

Danny and Conor stepped out and Conor paid for the taxi. Then, the taxi drove away. 

"So... Well today was good! And big things to do tomorrow!" said Conor looking at Danny. 

Danny didn't look like he was satisfied. Because he needed to complete the daily quests so desperately. 

"Yep... At least two quests completed!" said Danny. Then, he looked around the neighborhood.

"Wait!!! It's a... It's a Chrosmo!"

There was a Chrosmo floating around the roof of Mrs. Bethany's house.

[ Chrosmo : A blue creature that always floats around. Can be seen anywhere, but it is a very rare creature. The creature is made out of a blue smoke with no certain physical appearance. ]

The Chrosmo was floating around the rooftop. 

Danny looked at Conor. Conor's eyes were already on the Chrosmo. 

"Ummmm...." 

Danny started to run towards the Chrosmo, not wasting another minute. 

Conor wasn't second to Danny. Mrs. Bethany was Danny's aunt's friend. And now, the two boys were going to climb up to the roof of the house. 

Suddenly, the Chrosmo floated down, towards the street. 

Danny and Conor stopped in their tracks. Instantly, they turned around and ran towards the street. 

*I'm gonna get it! I'm gonna get it!* 

Conor was running like hell, towards the Chrosmo.

*No way! Not gonna let you get this one!* thought Danny and started to run faster. 

The two boys were in a race once again. 

The Chrosmo floated down and was floating around in the street at a height they could reach.

*YES!!! YES!!!!*

The two were almost there. Almost... Almost...

Danny suddenly jumped at the Chrosmo. Conor was right beside him. The two flew through the air and-

Danny fell down on the street with the victory in his hands. Conor fell down right beside him. 

"HAHAHA!!!! I FUCKING GOT IT!"

Danny screamed as he crawled back to his feet. The neighbors looked at them wondering what they were doing. 

"Crazy kids!" said the old man who was looking through the window of his house. 

Conor was face down on the road hugging the dirty streets. "Ughhh! I lost!"

"Hahaha!!! I WON!!!!!"
