35 Barney's System

"What are you waiting for Barney! Is there a problem??" 

Saber uttered to Barney as Barney stopped behind. Barney was looking at the far end of the park. 

"Is there a problem!" Saber yelled to Barney once again. 

"No! There's no problem! Just gave me some chills!" Barney yelled to Saber. Saber chuckled. "Come on idiot! You might get eaten by werewolves!" 

Barney hurried along with them. 

The 4 of them were going together. They knew that it'd be a bad idea to split up. 

Saber looked around at the place. He had been there more than 10 times before, with his wife.  

"This place hasn't changed though... Just like I remember!" said Saber as the memories of his beautiful wife came back to him.

*Can't wait to see our daughter Tes! I'll be home before her!* Saber thought as he moved along with the team.

Tony pointed the flashlight to different places and searched for any clues or suspicious things. But there was nothing.

Then they walked deeper and deeper into the park. The rain was making the walk path overflow with water now. 

*Splash* *Splash*

A splash went by, each footstep they took. 

Barney was waiting for the 3 humans to reach the player at the end of the walk path. 

Because of the heavy rain, they couldn't see anything clearly. But for Barney it was different. He had the mana vision that made it all clear.

Barney stopped for a moment and concentrated on the walk path. Suddenly, his whole vision became vivid with a lot of colours. 

The rain was light blue. The environment was green. The 3 men in front of him were orange in colour now. And the man standing at the end of the road was blue in colour. 

The whole world looked like oil paintings to him. 

He absolutely knew what system the man was. He had seen the same thing before. A blue ghost-like soul. It was a werewolf. 

Werewolves were very powerful at night. Barney quickly stopped and waited. Saber, Tony and Jason moved on towards the werewolf.

But Saber was getting suspicious of Barney already. 

"Barney! What the fuck are you waiting for! Come here!" 

Saber yelled to Barney who was waiting behind. 

"I think something's there!!!" Barney yelled to Saber. Suddenly, the two in front of Saber turned back too. 

"What??? Where???" Saber screamed, startled by Barney's words. "Where? Where is it???"

Saber quickly reached for his gun in his utility belt. Tony and Jason were already ready to fire with their guns. Jason had two pistols and Tony had his shotgun.

Saber had the fastest reloaded gun. The bullets were inevitable. It was called the BO7. It was a backup gun but the damage was incredible. 

"Right there! I think I see something! Let's move it!" said Barney who suddenly became brave. 

The 4 men rushed towards the player. As they got closer, Barney felt the aura emitted from the player. He certainly knew that he was a player at a high level. 

He felt like the aura emitted from the wolf is equal to him. 

They got closer and closer. Suddenly, they saw a man standing in the middle of the park. 

The man had long white hair. He was soaked wet, because of the rain. The man was just standing there. 

His eyes were yellow. Unlike the werewolf who was covered with fur, this one mostly looked like a human. 

"You! You right there! Hands up and kneel down!!" Saber yelled at the man pointing the gun at the head. 

The man was looking right at them. He didn't look like he was afraid. His hands were in the pockets of his coat. 

He looked like a normal man.

There was no response by the man.

"YOU HEAR ME!" 

Saber yelled again. Tony quickly pointed the shotgun at the man. Jason was holding his pistol at the man's head too. 

Barney was behind them and he slowly reached for his gun in the back of his denim. 

"We're counting to thre-"

"I hear you, officer!"

Suddenly, the man replied. His hands were still in his pockets. 

"So! Kneel the fuck down! What are you waiting for??" Saber yelled at the man. The man suddenly had a smile on his face.

"But tell me one thing! What did I do? I just walked around at Sleepless Walks! Isn't that what it's made for?" 

The man argued. He had a slight smile in the corner of his mouth. 

"I know that! So... We just need to check you! There's a series of murders happening in Calliberone, including Mandorin. So... We have the authority to check the humans at anytime!"

Saber reasoned with the suspicious man. Their guns were still pointed at the man.

"Well... Check away then." 

The man knelt down with his arms held up. It was raining heavily. The man wasn't even wearing a raincoat. 

Saber searched his pocket and patted him down to check for anything suspicious. There was only his wallet, mobile and some candy bars. 

Then Saber got up. He knew one thing for sure.

*This is just idiotic to check him like this! Werewolves transform! What should I do now?* he thought. 

After patting him down, he stood behind the man, thinking of a way to check the suspect. There was no possible way. 

He looked up at Barney. Barney knew exactly the thing going on inside his mind. 

*Just wait, Saber! He'll show his beast!*

Barney thought to himself looking at Saber. Suddenly, he got an idea. He was suspicious about the man. *What if the man didn't make any moves!* 

He quickly gestured to Saber, telling him to bash the man on his head.

Werewolves were always angry creatures, so with a little bit to startle the man his monster would pop out. 

Reno had no idea what to do. So he just decided to bash the man's head. 

*THONK*

Reno bashed the man's head with his gun. 

*GRRRRR*

Suddenly, a growling sound came from the man. 

"Kneel down right now! Kneel down!" Reno has confirmed it. The man was a beast. 

"Hehe... You got me... Looks like we have some mess to clean up!"

Long and sharp nails popped out from the man's finger tips. 

Suddenly, the man dashed to Jason and he dug his claws into Jason's body. Blood spattered all around as the man's chest started to bleed. 

It only took the werewolf a split second to dash to Jason. 

Suddenly, his eyes went to Ton-

*BANG* *BANG*

Saber took two shots at the man without thinking twice. The bullets went through the man's body. 

But the man wasn't even hurt. His wounds closed up in the speed of light.

Suddenly, he dashed to the back of Tony. Tony was holding the shotgun. The shotgun was a powerful weapon and an enemy for the werewolves. 

The werewolf kicked the man and Tony went flying into Saber. Saber quickly jumped back and escaped the hit.

Tony tried to crawl back up, but the pain was too much. The single kick delivered by the werewolf felt like getting hit by a car.

He coughed some blood out. 

*BANG!* *BANG!* 

Two bullets whistled past the werewolf. Neither of them was successful in hitting him. 

The werewolf was lucky this time. 

Now the werewolf's eyes were on Saber. 

"Now it's time for you to go! Along with your friends!" 

The werewolf dashed towards Saber and slashed the man's chest with his claw. The werewolf was too fast. Saber couldn't even see it's moves.

The claw ripped Saber's shirt and stained it with blood. 

Suddenly, the werewolf got hold of Saber's leg and pulled him. Saber tripped down. 

"Off you go!"

The werewolf spinned Saber around and threw him into the ruins of a statue. Saber was out cold now. Tony was too helpless. Jason was almost bleeding to death.

Then, it was only Barney left. 

The werewolf turned around and-

*CLAP!*

Barney was right in front of the werewolf's face. Suddenly, he clapped his hands close to the werewolf's face.

A large shock wave was created by the clap. 

The werewolf got thrown into the air and fell down some metres away from Barney. 

"Hahaha! You can't defeat me!" yelled Barney. 

Suddenly, Barney's eyes turned yellow and the man's eyes were like a cat's eyes. Thin lines drawn in those yellow eyes. 

"A Goblin! Nice one you got there!" said the man standing back up. 

Now, Tony, Saber and Jason were out cold. So Barney was safe to reveal his true face.

"Yes! And you're a talented werewolf!" Barney replied to the werewolf.

The two now knew that they were players who are close to their levels. Both of them were elite rankers.

"Well... Time for one of us to level up!" said the werewolf.
