4 To the sea and onwards [edited]

[General POV]

The day after the news, Morpheus and his family packed their things and left for the trip. The reason why they had to leave their homeland was never told to Morpheus, but that wasn't necessary. They didn't know, but Morpheus had reincarnated, so in this case, he just needed to connect the dots.

He heard that in the small village they lived in, people started to disappear, coupled with the fact that his father was a cold and bloodthirsty vampire. We can already see the result. In short, even not counting the reason why they had to leave, he always suspected that the reason was that his father was close to being discovered.

The place where they were going was also not told to him. Little did he know that the place he was going to at the moment was the worst place to go in antiquity.

The sea.

[Main Pov]

"Dad, when are we going to arrive? We've been in this old wagon long enough, I just want to stop and take a shower.'' I ask while mumbling. We've been traveling for almost a month, and this trip is just awful. I take back what I said before about loving the past; it sucks here. A simple trip that should last only a few hours by car, or even less, a few hours on foot, ends up becoming a trip of days and more days.

"My little Morpheus, be patient. The path will be much easier soon. Just be patient. And to answer your question for the thousandth time, soon we will arrive at the next village." I hear his answer already in disbelief. We've been on this trip for so long that I think I'll end up dying. Already stressed with all this delay, I look at him and speak.

''OK.'' I'm tired of it all. In my old world, I was just a big city boy. I'm not used to wagons, much less used to going days and days without showering. My stress got so bad that I ended up yelling at him, a nice thing to do, yelling at a man who could kill you at any moment, or end up doing something even if death makes me play with Aunt Didyme and talk to her. Unfortunately, she also comes with us.

Most likely the biggest contributor to this trip being hell is my "dear" aunt. She has such a talent for stressing me out that I'm impressed. Superman has kryptonite, while I have something much worse. Unfortunately, I have Didyme.

Luckily, my aunt is sleeping at the moment. At least I have some peace and quiet, for the moment, of course. The only good side of this trip is that I am growing up around this time. Now I look like a 2-year-old, thanks to that, I feel physically stronger. It is also much better to walk now. My legs are not baby legs anymore, and that is very good. I remember that in the movies Nahuel said that he reached adulthood at 7 years old.

The funny thing is that, in my case, it won't be that bizarre because, in my last life, I was 13 years old. If we add those 7 years that it will take until I grow up, apparently it won't be that strange. I've always felt very uncomfortable with the image of a 7-year-old in an adult's body. This is very strange, even stranger is the fact that Jacob Imprinting on a child.

But, in short, it's really good to be a hybrid. Growing up so fast is very interesting, and with this brain of mine, I can evolve at an enormous speed. While I was lost in my thoughts, I heard a noise, a noise that made me get up quickly.

"Hey Morpheus, this time it's true. We've finally arrived." After hearing this, I run out of the carriage to see what was in front of me. The first thing I see is an immensity, along with the classic smell of the sea. Yeah, in front of me, there was only seawater, nothing else.

"What is this?" I look at my dad questioningly when I see a smile plastered on his face. After a brief period of silence, of me looking at him, and him smiling at me, he starts talking.

"We still have to cross the ocean for a few more days. I didn't tell you because I wanted to see your surprise reaction, my little Morpheus," my dad said with a smile on his face. I looked at him, and I could feel the anger rising in my head. If he weren't a super strong vampire that could kill me in a few seconds, I'm sure I would try to beat him.

"A surprise?!" I let some of my anger subside, not too much, but enough. I hate Mr. Lunatic Aro. After this hellish journey so far, I have to endure a few more days on a "boat". I wonder if the boat is at least safe. Is there anything really safe and reliable that was made three thousand years ago?

[General Pov]

Morpheus and his family had a horrible sea voyage. The means of maritime transport available until the 11th century BC are practically non-existent, and the few that do exist are of such poor quality that the best of the best is nothing more than crap, so bad that a single day trip can feel like a trip to hell. But despite this situation, Morpheus, a small young man in the body of a child, had to spend several days inside a small boat, a real suffering for him. Morpheus was so upset with the whole situation that he almost didn't speak during the whole trip. The only thing he really did was train with his powers.

He told his father about his ice manipulation powers, something that really surprised his father but made him very happy. Aro, as a power-hungry lunatic, was more than happy. Little Morpheus didn't know that, because of that, Didyme's future turned out to be even more uncertain.

Aro wanted to further increase the power of his newest family, so he came up with the idea of transforming Didyme as well, but in the end, he abandoned that thought as he believed it would be better if she could develop a little more before transforming.

Even though Morpheus showed his ability to create ice, he preferred to hide his ability to generate fire. He knew that his father was very dangerous, and that this power in the future would be a good secret weapon against him.

And so the trip unfolded, which had as its objective the Peloponnese peninsula, located in the southern region of Greece. It was also the cradle of one of the best-known civilizations of antiquity. They went to the house of the Spartans.

To be continued.
