8 Living together

The food had finally arrived.

The table was filled with shabu-shabu. Everyone dug into the dish. There was also Sashimi and some pork tempura spread throughout the table.

The Ichinomiya and Yukimura family enjoyed the meal. They were talking about the marriage.

"Kaho, starting from tomorrow, you should be living with Takahiro from then. Isn't it what newly weds do?" Sayaka asked.

Living together? Kaho didn't talk. She was dumbstruck when she heard that she was going to move in with a man she barely knew.

Even though she knew him for many years since childhood, they had not seen each other for 16 years. Although they did meet four years ago, but they did not realise that until today.

Kaho was nervous about moving in. All she did was stuff more food in her mouth, as she listened. She had never been married before, so it was rather crucial to listen to what Sayaka had to say.

" Takahiro's house is west of Tokyo. It's a nice quiet area. You need to go in via security gate, so it is safe enough."

Kaho nodded her head. After their plans with the marriage it was time to leave. Kaho was preparing to go home with her father. She just finished renovating her apartment but she still stayed at her father's house to keep him company.

Just before she could properly move and settle into her new apartment, she, instead was going to move into Takahiro's home.

...

It was quite chilly outside so Kahoru and Makoto hurried into the BMW that was waiting for them.

After they got into the car, a tap came from outside. Kahoru looked towards the window and winded the window down.

"Yukimura, I will pick you up by noon tomorrow at the residence. Don't forget anything."

"That soon?"

"Mm. My mum wants you to move in as soon as possible."

"Okay I'll pack tonight."

"Mm."

Was 'mm' his favourite sound word or something?

"I'll see you tomorrow." Kaho bowed.

"Goodnight."

The window winded up and the BMW drove off. As they drove, Kahoru realised most of her clothes were at her apartment.

"Father, could we drop by my apartment so I can grab some clothes?"

"That is fine. Ito, please proceed to Kaho's place."

"Yes sir."

The car then changed routes and made its way to Kahoru's apartment. The car stopped and she had told Ito and Makoto to wait in the car.

She ran upstairs and walked into her small apartment. It only had a bathroom, a bedroom, and a small kitchen and living room combined.

Because her room just finished renovating, she still had a few boxes left to unpack. Kaho ran into her room to grab her suitcase and stuffed some clothes and her necessities inside.

She also had clothes at her family residence, as she sometimes stayed there. Kaho decided to pack the rest of her clothes when she got home.

After grabbing the things she needed, she locked her apartment and went downstairs. Ito was waiting for her so he could help carry her suitcase.

"Thank you Ito-san."

"It's my pleasure."

Kaho stopped back into the car, after Ito placed the suitcase in the trunk of the car, they drove off.

"Are you sure you didn't forget anything?" Makoto asked.

"Even if I did, I can still come back and collect it later."

"Well said."

...

After half an hour, they finally got back, Kaho wasted no time and hurried inside to start packing. She folded the stuffed clothes and ran around her room to find her other things.

Once she finished packing, Kaho, went to take a bath. As she sat in the bathtub, she sighed.

What had she gotten herself into?

She stared at the steam rising from the bath water.

"I guess I'm married now huh?" She never thought she would get married but to only be in an arranged marriage. From now she was just going to go with the flow.

After her bath, Kaho dried her hair off and went to bed after.

...

It was the next day and Kaho woke up from her alarm. It was 7am.

She got up and got ready. Kaho didn't have many good clothes so she just wore black denim jeans and a plain beige woollen jumper.

Her hair was tied up in a messy bun so it wouldn't fly all over the place.

After Kaho packed, it was 10am. She headed downstairs to eat breakfast.

She sat down quietly and ate her rice and eggs with miso soup on the side. She watched her family enjoy their meals and chatter amongst themselves.

After breakfast, she went back to packing. It was almost noon, so Kaho grabbed her suitcase and dragged it outside. She stood and waited for Takahiro.

A few minutes later, black Rolls Royce turned up at the doorway. A man in a brown suit walked out and he walked towards the back of the car door.

He opened it and Takahiro slowly stepped out.

"Tanaka." Takahiro's cold voice had made the brown suited man shudder.

"Y-yes master?"

"Place her belongings in the trunk."

"As you wish." The brown suited man named Tanaka walked up to Kahoru and bowed to her.

"Greetings my lady. My name is Tanaka Ryōma. I am your husband's Secretary. I will be around you often."

"Tanaka Ryōma?"

"Yes my lady."

"Long time no see. It's me, Yukimura Kahoru."

Ryōma froze on the spot. He blinked quickly a few times. "Come again...Ms.?

"We were in the same class on the second year of high school.

After realising it was an old classmate, Ryōma let his guard down, completely forgetting about his boss. "Yukimura-san? Is that really yo-"

"Tanaka!" Takahiro's voice boomed.

"Yes master...This way Ms."

"A-ah..."

Ryōma lead Kahoru towards Takahiro. Takahiro stepped back inside of the car to give room for Kahoru to walk in.

Ryōma then put the suitcase into the trunk and started to drive out of the residence.

As they drove, there was an awkward tension in the air. As Ryōma was driving, he decided to continue the conversation with Kahoru either way. It had been nine years since they saw each other.

"Yukimura-san, since when did you get so beautiful?"

"I... uh did everything everyone else did to lose weight. It kinda just happened."

"I see. It really has been a long time. We were even in the same study group."

"Mm! It was fun."

"Don't hit on my wife, Ryōma."

"I am very sorry."

'Wife? To think he'd ever call me his wife.' Kahoru thought to herself.

As they bickered, they had finally reached Takahiro's house. They also went through security. As they drove through, the houses around were beautiful. The land Takahiro owned was large.

Although, out of all of the houses Takahiro's house was the prettiest.

"You May go now Tanaka."

"Yes Master." Ryōma proceeded to leave.

They walked inside and Takahiro showed her around the house. First he showed her the garden.

The garden was a traditional Japanese garden. It had a Patio towards the left side.

There was a horizontal deck by the door and from the outside, it felt like they were in the Edo period.

The home was also a double story and he had showed her Everything a house had. Last but not least, The bedroom.

"Here is the bedroom. Leave your luggage here."

"Okay." Kaho placed her suitcase next to the doorway and she then looked around curiously. She felt like something was off.

"Wait, Ichinomiya-san, isn't this your room?"

"Yes."

"Then why am I sleeping here?"

Takahiro turned around and took slow steps towards Kahoru. With each step he took forward, Kahoru stepped backwards until she got cornered. He placed his hand on the wall next to her head.

A kabedon? Was he insane? Kahoru was expressionless on the outside but her emotions inside were screaming.

Her heart was beating super fast. She wanted to run far away but her legs would not budge.

Takahiro brought his face towards Kahoru's ear.

"Because the guest room is only for guests and you are simply my wife. Am I not wrong, Pouty?"
