14 An unexpected reunion

Kahoru felt Takahiro's warm body embrace her.

She was stunned.

Her emotions filled up. She had never felt this way about anyone. Kahoru always had a mask on. She was usually cold. Normally people had to fight their way through a thick wall. But they gave up and left.

"Cry all you want."

Kahoru's wall immediately turned into an open field. Her emotions she had suppressed for four years had spilled out of her eyes and she let everything out. She cried for the next hour.

Why did her wall suddenly let him in? Was it because he was her husband?

Takahiro stayed in their embrace, gently patting and combing her hair, trying to comfort her.

They both stayed in each other's warmth and Kahoru mumbled. "Thank you."

"Little lady can you repeat that?"

"T-thank you so much."

"It's no problem. The food is cold now. I'll go reheat it."

"Okay."

Takahiro took the plates and reheated them in the microwave. He waited for a few minutes and came back with the food.

Kahoru watched as Takahiro walked back and fourth. He sat back down after he placed his dishes on the table.

"Let's eat."

"Yes. Let's eat."

The couple went back to eating the rice porridge and baked salmon.

"Takahiro."

"Yes?"

"You're really good at cooking."

"This is the only thing I can make."

"Oh, really?"

"Mm."

Kahoru gazed at Takahiro while he ate. His rice porridge was really nice. It looked like he cooked it a lot.

After their meal, they took the plates and bowls and washed them. Takahiro washed, and Kahoru dried. They stood together in silence, only hearing the sponge rubbing against the plate, Tap water running and plates hitting each other.

"Go take your medicine and go to bed. You've done enough. I'll finish up."

"Okay. Good night."

"Goodnight."

Kahoru grabbed a cup and poured warm water into it. She put the tablet in her mouth and chugged it down with water.

She placed the cup in the sink while her husband washed the dishes, and she headed upstairs.

She went to brush her teeth and washed her face that was dried with her wet tears. She must've looked stupid, Kahoru thought.

She dried her face with her face towel and headed back inside the bedroom. Kahoru fixed her eyes on the king sized bed.

She walked over to her side of the bed and settled herself in. Kahoru laid on her side and closed her eyes. In a matter of seconds she fell fast asleep.

It was a Saturday morning and Kahoru woke up later than usual. She rubbed her eyes and looked at the clock. It was 11am. Kahoru turned her body to only find an empty side. Where did Takahiro go?

She yawned and stretched her arms and legs.

Kahoru sat up and walked into the bathroom. She washed her face and headed downstairs. The living room and kitchen was empty. She went to see if Takahiro walked into the study, but he was not there.

Growl!

Kahoru froze and put her hand on her stomach.

"I'm hungry..." She made her way back to the kitchen and opened the fridge.

There was literally nothing! All there was, were energy drinks. Kahoru closed the fridge and opened the pantry door. There was also nothing but protein bars.

"How can you live life like this? There's no food in here."

"Like I said, I only eat out."

Kahoru jumped and suddenly turned around. "Takahiro? You're back."

"Mm." He held a bag full of takeaway food.

How did he get home without a sound?

They went to the dining table to spread the food out. It was a traditional Japanese Breakfast. There was rice, baked salmon, a rolled omelette and miso soup.

They started to eat. Kahoru was not a fan of the taste, but it was still edible. Takahiro gazed at Kahoru, who was making weird faces.

"Little lady."

"What is it?" Kahoru looked up at the big boss.

"Tonight, I will introduce you to my friends." He rested his cheek on his palm.

"Your friends?"

"Mm. Get ready by 5pm and wear something casual."

"Okay."

"You don't need to finish it if you don't like it."

Kahoru paused and looked at Takahiro. Did he read her mind?

"I'll finish it. Its rude to not finish your food."

After their meal, Takahiro disappeared into his office and Kahoru was getting ready.

She was in the hidden closet, at the back of the Master bedroom closet. It was like a hideout. She was choosing an outfit that could keep her warm.

Her makeup was rather light. She wore a natural pink lipstick. She left her hair alone and it had a natural wave to it.

Kahoru wore a black long sleeved shirt with a Khaki dress coat. She wore black tights underneath. It felt cozy in her outfit.

Ever since getting married, her sense of style has definitely improved. She did not have any of her old clothes left. They were all thrown out by Takahiro.

Kahoru walked to the study to check up on the big boss. She knocked the study door, slightly opened the door and popped her head inside.

Takahiro was focused on his work. His typing was heard from outside. He noticed Kaho pop her head in and turned his head to her.

"I am ready."

"It's still early. Can you make some tea?"

"Okay."

Kahoru walked into the kitchen. She filled up the electronic kettle and turned the power switch on.

While the water was boiling, she went to grab a mug from the cabinet above and a small bag of green tea from the pantry.

Kahoru waited for the water to finish boiling and poured it into the mug. She filled the rest of the cup with cool water, to make it enough so her dear husband wouldn't burn himself.

The little lady grabbed a saucer and supported the mug with it under the mug as she held the mug in her hand.

She walked into the study and placed it on the desk. She stared at his face. He wore rectangular framed glasses and she noticed he had a small beauty mark just under his right eye.

She realised how handsome he was up close and her face started to burn.

"I-I'm going to wait outside."

"Mm okay. I'll be done in five."

"Okay." Kahoru walked out into the living room and sat down on the couch. She picked up a magazine and the model on the cover was very beautiful.

"This is Yu Entertainment's Magazine." She briefly read it and it introduced the actors, singers and models that were currently in the company.

This magazine would've been popular. It had many celebrities and a small biography for each of them.

Kahoru heard the car keys jingle and turned to see Takahiro hold them near her ears.

"Let's go."

The pair walked to Takahiro's car. It was a black Maybach Exelero. Wasn't this the most expensive car in the world? It would've costed a whopping eight million dollars!

Kahoru suddenly stopped in her tracks. This car was too expensive for her to sit in. Takahiro opened the passenger door and led her in. She looked around inside and the interior was too much for her to handle. She was overwhelmed.

The interior was a cream colour. The back seats had adjustable seats with leg rests. There was more leg room than what economy class in an airplane would have. There were T.Vs on each seat.

Kahoru was never going to get used to sitting in this car.

She had never seen Takahiro drive, and as they drove to the location they were going to, Kahoru gazed at big boss.

"It's rude to stare little lady."

It was because he looked incredibly cool driving. It was not a long drive but they finally reached their destination. Takahiro parked the car and the couple hopped out. She looked at the sign outside the place.

It was a cafe bar called Takayoshi. It was closed for the night but Takahiro walked inside like he owned the place.

Kahoru quickly followed him in. The cafe bar was a little noisy as she saw five people chatting. Something felt familiar and so she walked behind the boss.

"Hiro! You're here! Come join us." One of men called out to him.

"Yeah! Come!" A woman who looked like a model also called out. She looked half Japanese.

It couldn't be them could it?

"I'm here to introduce you to my wife."

"Wife? Since when did you have a wife Takahiro?" Another man came out of the kitchen he noticed a small figure in Takahiro's shadow.

"You all know her." Takahiro stepped aside and wrapped an arm around Kahoru's shoulder.

"This is Yukimura Kahoru."

Kahoru looked at everyone's faces. Then it all hit her. The friends she thought were her true friends.
