6 A dinner with Father

Kaho woke up the next morning feeling gruggy. She had slept later than she normally did after all the thinking she did last night.

It was a Saturday morning and it was also Kaho's day off. She looked at her alarm clock.

"9am... what should I do?"

Kaho did not know what to do so she turned on the T.V. When she was about to change channels, something caught her eye.

It was a commercial for a Jewellery brand.

The models were very pretty and the bracelets stood out. At the end of the commercial the company's name showed.

"Love...Luxury?" Where had she heard that name from?

"Maybe I should see for myself." Kaho turned off the T.V. And headed towards the bathroom to get ready.

She only tied her hair back and put on a grey snow jacket and blue denim jeans. She also put on a black beanie and wrapped a brown wool scarf around her neck.

Kahoru was not picky on clothes, so she just wore what she had.

It was still winter so it was quite cold.

She grabbed her umbrella and bag and made her way out. For shoes, she wore her mustard coloured Timberlands.

Kaho made her way down the elevator and out of the building. The moment the automatic glass doors opened, the cold air seeped in. Kaho felt the cold and shivered.

"M-Maybe I shouldn't have gone out..." Kaho wrapped her arms around herself and started walking towards the station.

Kaho's breath had turned into vapour each time she breathed. Her face felt numb and her nose stung. While she walked, she adjusted her scarf and wrapped it around her face, covering her nose and mouth.

It helped A little. Although Kaho still thought she was going to freeze to death. She then finally arrived at the station.

Kaho scanned her train card and made her way towards the big signs with the train timetables.

"Ginza..." She looked at the train times and headed towards her platform.

Kaho stood in the middle and waited for her train to come. She felt like every second was too long and started to get impatient. Was she going to die of hypothermia?

As Kaho was thinking, the announcer informed that there was a train approaching. She watched the rails in the direction of where the train was coming from, eager to get out of the cold.

Train... please hurry up!

The train had finally come and slowed down in front of her. She walked to the side of the doors to ensure that the passengers inside were able to get out.

As the doors opened, a lady and a child walked out. No one else did, so Kaho walked inside. The warmth had finally hit her, and she went to find an empty seat to sit on.

Kaho could finally relax. After twenty-five minutes outside, she thought she was really going to freeze.

...

As time passed, Kaho had her earphones in. It wasn't loud, as she needed to hear the announcement.

"The next station is Ginza Station. The doors will open on the left."

Kaho took out her earphones and placed them back in her backpack. As the train slowed down, She stood up and walked towards the left door.

As the doors opened, Kaho once again felt the cold. She needed to head to the mall to feel warm again.

Luckily the mall was only two minutes away so she sped there.

The mall was a massive rectangle building. From the ground to the top level, it had glass all around. Kaho stared in awe. She then looked for the entrance and walked inside.

The moment she walked inside, her eyes grew wide. The whole shopping mall and the outside we're both luxurious.

She didn't feel like she belonged here.

She headed for the map and searched for Love Luxury. It was located on the second floor. After searching, she made her way towards the jewellery store.

Kaho glanced at some other shoppers. Most of them wore something luxurious. She felt slightly uncomfortable but she brushed it off.

She soon arrived at Love Luxury. She didn't need to go inside to see how high class the store was. But she was curious to see what they sold.

Before she could walk inside, an attendee walked out of the store and turned to where Kaho had come from.

Kaho turned to see what the attendee was looking at and quickly turned back.

What were they doing here? Were they possibly stalking her?

Out of all people, it had to be Hasegawa Keiichi and Risa.

Kaho then, suddenly almost choked when the attendant had called the couple, "Boss!"

That's right... back in high school, rumors were going around that Keiichi wanted to open a jewellery shop. He even had a name for it already.

"Love Luxury..."

Kaho then realised that she was just standing there. She had to hurry back so the couple wouldn't catch her.

"Ah! What a coincidence Dr. Yukimura!"

Keiichi's voice had her freeze on on the spot. She turned around and bowed.

"Yes. What a coincidence."

"What brings you here to our store?"

"Your store?"

"Yes."

"We had only just opened this store a month ago. I hope you take your time looking around our store!"

"Yes. I gladly... will."

She turned to Risa, and Risa was death staring her for some reason. She was not happy at all. As Kaho looked at the time, it was already 1pm. Her dinner was in five hours but she still needed to head home to get ready.

"I am sorry but I have to leave now."

"Why so quick?"

"I have plans with someone." Kaho bowed again and quickly left the store.

She hurried down the stairs and as she was about to leave the mall, something had caught the corner of her eye.

Kaho stopped dead in her tracks and turned her head around to look at the window. She walked towards the window. On the mannequin was a baby pink Aline dress.

Kaho's eyes sparked and walked into the store.

"Welcome!" An attendant greeted her with a warm smile. Kaho nodded her head and walked towards the attendant at the cash register.

"Excuse me I'd like the pink dress from the mannequin please."

"As you wish miss."

Kaho went to the fitting room to try the sizes and paid for the one that fit her.

After she left the mall she went straight back home to get ready.

...

It was now 5pm, an hour until Kaho went to meet her father for dinner. It had been a long time she felt pretty.

She put on natural makeup with a peach eyeshadow and a red lip tint. Her waist long hair was a half up style and was straight with soft curls hanging at the end.

Kaho wore her pink Aline dress. It was a turtle neck dress with tight sleeves that had reached passed her elbow. The length of the dress reached under her knees.

Was this really her? Kaho stared at herself in the mirror deep in thought.

Before she ran out of the house, she had found some old nude pumps and a beige handbag.

The handbag was given by her mother when we're shopping but kaho never found the opportunity to use it after.

Kaho then realised, maybe she cared a little about herself. Otherwise she wouldn't have felt nervous about her looks. She wanted her father to compliment her.

Was she trying to deny everything that happened in her life by saying she did not care?

Maybe that was why.

It was 5:30pm now and Kaho had finished getting ready and headed downstairs. She waited for her taxi to come and headed towards the location.

She had arrived ten minutes earlier and spotted her father also getting off of the BMW.

"Father!" Kaho had called out to her father.
