5 Entrance: Meet the main Character

Looking out the window at nothing in particularly. I let the voices in the room drift away and let my mind wander. I'm thinking back to the same strange dream. That I've been having for a while now.

Frustrating as it is when I wake up. I can't remember a thing about it. Even when I try to remember it like now. I'm just left with a dark emptiness and this time a cold chilling reminder.

"Hey Bethana?"

I jerked my head towards the other's, "What?" I said looking at one of my best friends', Josey.

"You zoned out again? she said looking across the room directly into my eyes with her inquisitive gray-blue ones.

"Humph"

I turned to a worry strickened Meg, "Are you getting any sleep? Maybe we shouldn't have brought you here..." she said with a forlorn glance in my direction.

"IIII 'ummm alright" I responded straightening my back where I was sitting in the windowsill.

"Cause that sounds so convincing" Meg said sitting cross legged on the bed.

"Hey! what's with the elbow?"

"Stop pressing her, Meg. She'll tell us when she's ready." spoke Josey.

"I know but I wish she wouldn't look so down". Responded a dejected Meg.

"Hey guys it's about time for us to meet our Tandemins' (1)" exclaimed Shaina storming back into the room.

Meg rolled her eyes before entering into lecture mood. I looked towards Josey who gave me a wink before sitting back against her pillowed headboard.

Sighing, I turned my head to once again look outside the window. Hearing Meg say, "First we have to be put in our Sects(2). Then we can find our individual Tandemins, Shaina....".

Is the last thing I heard before my mind drifted back to before entering the academy.

(1) Tandemin-a senior partner that each student has, belonging to the individual Sects.

(2) Sects- The four groups of the school. That are based on specific characteristics that resonates with each person. This excludes the Freshman through Senior ranking. That also exists with in the academy.
