Chapter 28: Suppressing A Lizard With Brute Strength

Later healing up, Kaya and Roman were ready to go deeper into the floor. They managed to fight over 550 demonic beasts and ate every one of them without stopping. Kaya had earned over 23 Fire Elemental Points and 36 Status attributes 11 Strength, 10 Agility, and 17 Intelligence. Roman had also earned his fair share of 12 Fire Elemental Points and 21 Status attributes excluding the first one he had eaten.

He was very happy with his gains. The futile effort he had long thought was paying off not just a simple payoff but double at that. He wondered if he could also get the Monster Eater skill that Kaya introduced to him since he still was aching when he ate the monster meats. Thankfully though, with his accumulated Fire Elemental Points, he'd be able to lessen the burning sensation by a lot. If he had known this beforehand, he could've started building the foundation of his tolerance and he could've already attained the Strength of Kaya. He could only regret the disgust he usually had with monster meat since now, any dead monster he found was a treasure trove of elemental and attribute points.

He was curious as to why Kaya was also collecting the bones of the monsters, he could understand that those materials could be sold but they only come for a cheap price since their quality could be considered very weak and it's usually only bought in bulk. It couldn't be used in fighting since its information already stated that it's a material so he could only think of how he might use it in other ways.

A few minutes later, they arrived at a stalactite cave, this cave had hundreds of these stalactites from below and the ceiling, it was hard to move around the cramped space due to the stalactites. From above, Kaya immediately spotted a giant humanoid form. It was standing on the ceiling but it had its body covered by a red flesh-like blanket and its face could be seen looking like the mix between a furry pig and a sabertooth.

"It's the boss, Dragk, a bat-type demonkin, compared to the normal type of bat-type, Dragk doesn't fly despite having wings but makes up for it with its hard defense, body flexibility, and speed. These stalactites are unbreakable and Dragk will use it to his advantage by hiding and defending himself, it's hard to confront him in melee range since one might just end up punching the stalactites which repel any incoming attacks back. Its skills are-..."

Before Roman could continue with his words, Dragk awakened and hissed at the two. Kaya quickly pulled out one stinger and threw it right at Dragk but it simply swiped one of its claws and disintegrated the attack.

"My stingers can't even reach it."

"Bug-type materials are weak against fire, we have to resort in other ways."

Roman pulled out his flintlocks and shot right at Dragk but when Dragk tried to hide on a stalactite, the bullet he shot bend and hit right at its skin.

Roman was aghast at its durability, he had enhanced the attack to hit right at its furry head but the damage was still negatable. It could regenerate its health by 2% every 5 seconds which is 400,000 HP and the damage he dealt was simply a drop in the bucket. With how the terrain works, they were placed at quite a disadvantage. They'd have their stamina decreased before they could even drop its health by 1%.

Seeing the huge difference in attributes, Kaya opened his window panel and switched his title from Weak Hero to Lonely Defier. Immediately, he had a huge boost in his status attributes. He had become a tier 2 player temporarily and when he activated Flash, his body left an after-image appearing instantly at the hiding Dragk.

Botulinum Toxin!

With the huge increase in his strength, he held Dragk's head and used Crunch. This immediately caved in his head breaking the cranium off as it screamed in the pain put with the open brain, Kaya placed a drop of Botulinum Toxin as all the brainy guts and veins melted to a hotpot instantly killing it.

Kaya immediately gained 2 levels from killing the boss monster while Roman gained 4 levels in an instant. Since they were in a party, the experience distribution was 60% to the party leader and 40% to the members but in their case, since Kaya had the highest contribution, he gained 80% of the experience while 20% goes to Roman. He wasn't disappointed but in fact, he was surprised. Too surprised at what had just happened.

'He killed the boss...just like that.'

He had all this plan planned out in his head but Kaya just went in there and killed it with sheer force. He didn't even make it go berserk since, with just two hits, the health of the monster went down by 40% to 0% in an instant. That was just ridiculous, the boss monster had 20 million HP but Kaya still overwhelmed it. Was his strength unfair? Most definitely! Is this a bug? I don't know. Roman's jaw hung by his face.

Piles and piles of items fell on the ground after the Dragk's body disappeared. Since he was at a party, the items wouldn't be immediately placed on his inventory. Before Roman could process what had just happened, Kaya called him.

"Roman, check out the loot!"

Kaya gleefully exclaimed. Roman briefly came back to his senses and hurriedly went or Kaya's location where he saw a pile of equipment on the ground. It was composed of weapons and armor, and both Roman and Kaya were in awe. With this, their curse had been lifted.

'Weapons!'

'Armors!'

They said to themselves simultaneously. Kaya immediately checked each weapon out. Although he couldn't use any of them, he still kept the weapons that he could use in the future. He obtained one tier 1 Unique weapon which was an Axe and immediately let the Fighting Monarch's Orb absorb it. Afterward, he checked out some of the armors but didn't find anything he liked. Their loot distribution was 'Choose what you want', there was nothing sort of hierarchy in it since Kaya treated Roman as an equal while Roman still treated Kaya as his superior so he showed Kaya the equipment he wished to pick since they might be interested at the same items. I Kaya liked the item he wanted, then he'd swallow his own pride and give it, plus he already felt grateful since Kaya basically soloed the boss.

They also gained a few spell scrolls and basic arrays. Arrays are tube-like poles that are attached to the ground and release a wide protective dome that could have various effects. It could heal any allies inside the dome, deal damage to enemies inside, protects them from outside harm, increases ally attributes, or weaken enemies and monsters.

Kaya gave the three arrays to Roman who nonchalantly accepted it. Kaya then grabbed the Floor-2 Scroll and ripped it in half. Immediately, a magic circle appeared below their feet and both disappeared right after.

As soon as they arrived, Kaya pushed Roman away causing him to tumble to the ground. Roman wondered why Kaya did such a thing when he didn't do anything to anger him but when he looked up, he found Fire Salamanders spewing flames at Kaya.

"Brother Alon!"

As soon as the bath of flames dispersed, Kaya stood still. His face looked annoyed despite only losing 2% of his health. His Chainmail armor had been destroyed by the flames and his Cloak had only 20% of its remaining durability left. He immediately retrieved the Cloak back to his inventory afraid that it might be destroyed as well. Now, he was shirtless revealing the thousands of scars on his body. When Roman saw how majestic he looked, he was astonished.

"So.. beautiful."

As a straight man, Roman couldn't help but be in awe at such a refined and marbled body. Kaya had everything, the height, the body shape, the looks, and damn even the talent. There wasn't anything that Kaya was not, if there was a fight between aliens and humanity then Kaya would most likely be the candidate to be the leader of mankind.

Kaya pulled out all of the fire bones in his inventory and formed them into a flaming dagger. With the increase in his Fire Element, he was now able to conjure flames into his weapons. He threw this throwing daggers in blinding speed as each struck the heads of the Salamanders. They tried to melt the bone but fire against fire would just result with more fire. Roman also didn't stand still to watch, he fired hundreds of bullets right at the Salamanders each hitting their weak spots and only missing quite a few.

The hundreds of Salamanders spewing flames at them didn't stop coming, this was entirely different from the 1st floor where they could rest easy and wait, this time it was almost an endless number of Salamanders and each of these salamanders are tier 2 monsters. For tier 1 players, this should be impossible to defeat and yes, this possibility affected Roman greatly but Kaya was like a never-ending chainsaw, grinding at the monsters with two clubs in his hand which he made from the bones of Hellfiends.

Roman had slowed down after 2 hours of nonstop shooting and his magazine was going to empty soon. There were still hundreds of these salamanders and they didn't show any signs of stopping as time passed, a few stronger salamanders entered the fray. Roman knew this was a failure but as he stayed in the rear, Kaya continued to surprise him more.

Despite facing hundreds of Salamanders by himself, he wasn't showing any signs of tiredness as his speed was increasing. He was being bombarded by flames and spells but his health remained in constant regeneration. He wondered what kind of item Kaya was wearing to remain standing with no stop at all. He admired him more as determination burned his eyes. He didn't care if he cleared out all his bullets, as long as Kaya continued fighting, he will be there to support in the rear.

In reality, though, Kaya's health should've long depleted since the burn Effect slumped down his healing factor from his spell vamp and Lifesteal. He only managed to maintain his health after using the Golden Gauze. He covered half of his body with this bandage, each on his arms, his neck, and down to his waist. This looks protected his silk gloves from being destroyed since he also covered them with the bandage.

When his clubs would melt, he pulled out another one and if it melted again, another one was made. He did this process vice-versa and didn't stop until he emptied his stock of bones and materials.

"Let's try this out."

Kaya pulled out the Monster core he obtained from one of the goblin champions, Gurek. The grayish marble was swallowed by Kaya like a pill and he activated Gluttony. He could immediately feel the dispersion of the monster core in his body as its effects enveloped him with a cool breeze.

[Swiftness(1)- Increases the player's attack and movement speed by 100% and each successive critical strike unleashes the next attack to deal a fan-shaped wind blade that deals 1000 (+100% Wind Element) and stuns them for 0.2 seconds.

Like a raging hurricane, Kaya drilled through the crowd of salamanders like a bulldozer as he traverses his way to the center and when the final wave arrived, a giant blue salamander appeared in the rear.

"Big bro! The Butane Salamander is activating Methane Beam! Dodge it!"

The Butane Salamander's scales glowed in bright blue color as a beam of blue flame shot right at Kaya. Kaya knew that if he faced this flame head-on, he could die so he instinctively activated Black Fog that made him untargettable by 2 seconds.

Roman didn't waste any time and assisted Kaya. He had already spent all of his bullets from the salamanders and had run dry but he still had a trick off his sleeve. He struck the monster Array at the ground and followed it up with two more and quickly, a blue barrier spread around the area.

As soon as the duration of the invulnerability ended, the flames still beamed brightly so Kaya activated Flash but he was too late by the split second as both his torso and boots were destroyed leaving him butt-naked with his huge cock dangling out of his body.

"You fucker!"

Furious at what had happened, Kaya summoned the Queen Wasp's Stingers and formed them into a Spear.

Made from the Queen Wasp's Stingers, it's very thin and has low durability. But due to its sharpness and high affinity with poison Elements, it can penetrate a target's defense by 90% and deal 300% poison-based magic damage. Its strength is equal to 150% of the player's strength.

Kaya didn't waste a single second and dashed right at its head as he struck the spear consecutively with each one dealing 1% of its health and quickly dropping its health by 80%. The spear's durability fell by 400 points and before it could counterattack Kaya's bombardment, Kaya threw the spear right at its left eye pushing the spear halfway through but didn't stop as he punch the other end of the spear so the entire spear could lunge inside its head as it went through the other eye completely blinding it. Its health had fallen by 70% from that successive strike.

[Blue Salamander has gone Berserk]

It bellowed in rage as it started spewing blew liquid flames all around the area as the scales in its body burned in bright blue. Kaya immediately retreated after seeing the predicament, this was the first time he had seen a boss monster activates its berserk so early.

"It's forcibly activating it's berserk! Although it can only expand its powers by 50% it can remain sane at this point. We can only run away and wait until its berserk ends!"

Roman explained to Kaya as he dodged the Salamanders that attacked him. He threw bombs and throwables at the Salamanders since he had no means to attack them anymore. After Kaya understood what was happening, a grin etched his face.

'I see.'

"What are you doing?!"

Roman was surprised as he found Kaya going straight towards the rampaging berserk salamander. He had no idea what was going on in the man's head.

Kaya immediately switched his other title and put in effect another title, Berserk! This boosted his entire strength in leaps and bounds. Both the Lonely Defier and Berserk had made it possible for Kaya to overwhelm any berserked tier 2 boss and the blue salamander was the same case. Leaping right at its blue flames and he wasn't afraid of the incoming damage as the bandage sustained him from any attacks that come his way. He threw a huge uppercut at the Butane Salamander's jaw causing it to shut its gaping mouth up then held it by the chokehold and suplexed the fucking beast like an absolute Chad.

Its lower abdomen had none of the burning scales that gave it its high defensive attributes and it was currently opened on sight so Kaya having no remorse whatsoever bombarded the poor lizard with a barrage of punches each carving a mark in its body.

Kaya was not stopping, as soon as its health had fallen by 30%, his Lethality activated sharply increasing his overall attributes more and he then thrust his hands inside the neck of the Butane Salamander holding it between its spinal bone.

Crunch!

As soon as he activated the skill, the entire insides of its thick neck crumbled to goo including the spinal bone he choked as the Butane Salamander wriggled from the pain and halted to an end.
