A promise she can't accomplish

"I am sorry, Yu Yao." Chen Rou Jiao grinned awkwardly toward the man in front of her. "I cannot accept your feelings."

Although Chen Rou Jiao said with cautioned, but she never hesitated. It was the truth. She will never like Yu Yao, her classmate. Though they knew each other since the first year she study at their college, she never saw him more than friend.

They were both standing at the middle of the vast and luxurious balcony at the prestige hotel in the city. They were having dinner at that hotel for celebrating their final year as the college students.

There was not a single living things at the balcony except for Chen Rou Jiao, Yu Yao and the plants. Whilst the bright light illuminating the balcony secured her, but the cold night breeze approached her exposed shoulder, made her shivered. But she stayed calm, facing the Yu Yao who seems lost of words. Just wondering until when she needs to endure the coldness before Yu Yao started talking.

Yu Yao stared at Chen Rou Jiao with eyes widened in shock and disbelief. For him, he always saw her as his soulmate. She was the perfect girl he met in his whole life. Chen Rou Jiao also treated him so well. How come she rejected him after he gathered his gut to make the confession?

"Why? Do you have someone else?"

Chen Rou Jiao, still grinning, shook her head. " No. I really don't have any feelings toward you."

"You lie." Yu Yao pursed his lips. "I will make sure you accept me one day. Even if I have to wait till my last breath."

Chen Rou Jiao taken aback with his determination. Her grin also disappear from her rosy lips. "But.."

Before she could able to finish her words, Yu Yao left her right away at the balcony without spared her a glance.

"I seriously have no one else." she sighed. Chewing her lower lips, Chen Rou Jiao stopped expecting Yu Yao to listen to her. She also feel uncertain with what she claim to be the truth.

Her almond eyes peered at the entrance blankly. She confirmed with herself that she did not have someone else, but why did that person popped out in her mind when Yu Yao questioned her just now?

Chen Rou Jiao exhaled softly. She turned to the edge of the balcony, crossed her arms and laid them on the handrails, while staring peacefully at the starry night with a trouble mind.

She had not bothered to go to the party immediately because it's was not the a warm place for her. Beside she feel isolated in the huge hall, although her friends, Pei Xin and Chun Hua also went to the party with her 10 minutes ago. Well, before Yu Yao called her to the balcony.

Now, she just wanted to be alone.

She really did not have someone else, but she had someone who rented in her heart for free, and that same person, also betrayed her trust free of charge.

Li Da Zhan.

The person she love at the first sight when they were in the same group to do charity for orphanage house during their sophomore year. He care so much toward the children and treated them like his own, melted the fragile heart of hers. Thus, like a fool, she immediately fall for him. Luckily she was a bit smart to keep the feelings for herself up until now.

They were from different department in the university they studied. She was in the Computer Science meanwhile he was in Architecture. So the percentage to meet him was really low if not because of college events.

Despite the Li Da Zhan was popular among the students and lecturers, Chen Rou Jiao had no time to care about that due to her part time jobs.

A commoner like her, who went to the prestige university that produce a lot of famous icons in various fields with full funded scholarship could not to be compare to the wealthy heir like Li Da Zhan. Even Yu Yao was the third son of the owner of Yu Co., a trading company that worth billions.

She needs to find extra money to support her daily expenses. So, other than studying hard to graduate with flying color, she also needs to work to survive.

That was why, when she saw his kindness toward the needy, she could not help but admired his sincereness. They became close and have a nice conversation when they met.

Nonetheless, when Li Da Zhan accused her for stealing, she felt the world trampled down on her, the hatred he tossed to her made Chen Rou Jiao drowned in an abyss she wished never get to the surface anymore.

She remembered she cried quietly in her dorm bathroom, late at night. Cursing and mocking herself for trusting him to defend her, but he rather joined the other side without listening to her explanation. She swear to forget her feeling toward him.

But.... will she able to do that?

"Of course I can!" she shouted at the sky. "I am Chen Rou Jiao. I am a strong girl who able to survive in this harsh world. Just this crazy feeling, why I can't let it go? If I still love him, I am a trash."

Chen Rou Jiao said to herself. No matter what, she was proud of herself. She managed to get rid of her feeling towards the person who had hurt her.

At that moment, fireworks garnished the night sky with its powerful and beautiful explosion. Chen Rou Jiao astonished with the magnifent view. "Uwaaa... so beautiful."

The variant color and beautiful pattern of the fireworks made Chen Rou Jiao caould not get her eyes off from them. The flowers was enormous and explode many times, created an innocent smile on her face.

The fireworks seems try to tell her to let go of her worries and blooms to a new person. The person who could make her own life decisions including fall in love with someone new. Chen Rao Jiao nodded firmly.

She jumped happily like a child when watching the fireworks started to getting bigger and merrier. Clapping her hands and beaming innocently.

"How beautiful. How beautiful." she laughed excitedly. She able to act like that because she knew no one around, no one can judged her behaviour.

Chen Rou Jiao took a step backward but she was not aware her high heels stepped on her long gown. Could not control the situation, she fell backwards.

She screamed out of scared but luckily someone managed to catch her and she eventually fell into his embrace. She also quickly wrapped around that person neck to support herself.

Chen Rou Jiao startled when she found out the person who help her was the same person she swear to forget. Her eyes met the astonished heavenly eyes before it slowly turned cold. She felt like the time stopped and her heart pounding like a machine gun.
