The first wizard squib

Chapter 10: The first wizard squib

Lying on a steel table, Stephanos stared at the dark ceiling with peace of mind as Simon drew a transmutation circle on his chest using his own blood.

Unlike any other, this one was created exclusively by Simon for this moment, fusing his magical DNA with Stephanos's inactive DNA and forcing him to awaken artificially.

Looking at the old man who had accompanied him for 4 years, Simon felt bad that he had to abandon him after the experiment, whether it was a success or not. But they both understood, and Stephanos backed away. He hesitated at the last second and didn't accept Simon's actions in the warehouse.

Simon was also feeling bad, he didn't want to have to hurt children himself, but he knew that in this world, power is the only thing that really matters. Without it, you can't protect anything you love.

- What do you look for, Simon?

- What?

- What are you looking for?

- Why ask this now?

- ...

- ...

- When I was 8 years old and my older brother received his acceptance letter to Hogwarts, I will never forget my mother's smile

- ...

- She was rather happy for him. Then it was my other brother's turn, and again she was overjoyed. But when it was my turn... in the end, all I could give them was sadness and shame.

- ...

- My sister also suffered from some anxiety until she was 10 years old, when she finally awakened her magic.

- Tell me this isn't going to change anything, Stephanos.

- I know. I want you to know what my objective is. In the end, all I wanted was a second chance to see them…one last time.

- ...

- ...

- I would say…power, I guess. This would be the quickest and most objective response and can be said to be the basis of everything. But in the end, what I seek is something greater.

- For example...?

Simon didn't respond, he just finished drawing the circle and took about 250 ml of his blood and put it in a bag nearby to transfuse Stephanos.

Looking at the boy, Stephanos understood that no matter what happened, whether the process was a success or not, he would be killed.

- Can I ask a favor?

- Sure

- In my room, in the second drawer of the desk, there is a letter. I hope I can send it to my daughter.

- No problem.

- Thanks,

- Don't thank me, Stephanos.

- It's okay. I know you're a good kid, Simon. If it weren't, you would have given in to power a long time ago.

- ...

Stephanos wasn't completely wrong about Simon's inclinations, but he definitely wasn't a good person. Honestly, with their current power, messing up the entire world economy would be child's play. He could literally create a city of gold out of thin air.

Simon also had the ability to create incredible chimeras that obeyed him. Although the hybrids were a bit skittish, if he tried a little, he could also come up with a way to control them and create an army.

Simon didn't do this kind of thing for 2 reasons: the first was because it was a lot of work, he didn't want to work so much that he would end up being the enemy of the world, at least not for now. And secondly, it would be really boring to just be another Voldemort, create a bit of trouble here and there, and end up alone in some hole.

What Simon wanted was to do something greater than Grindelwald did, he heard several stories about him from Stephanos, things that weren't in the films, and he had to admit, this was a great dark lord. Compared to him, Voldemort didn't seem like much, of course, in Simon's view. For this and other reasons known only to Simon, he wanted to do something so great that it would break the balance of the entire world. Make his name resonate throughout the wizarding and Muggle worlds.

At the same time, he also wanted to have an "ordinary" life, or as close to it as possible, given his current conditions. He wanted to have friends, get into a relationship, get married, and have kids.

Simon knew how contradictory the nature of his goals were and how difficult it would be to strike a balance between the two. But that was the fun of everything.

While he laughed a little at his own goals, Simon looked at Stephanos, who responded with a simple wave. Placing his hand on the circle on Stephanos' chest, Simon began the transmutation as soon as his blood entered his veins.

Blue rays began to tear the poor man apart from the inside as he rearranged his DNA in an extremely fast and painful way. Stephanos felt like every little piece of his body was being destroyed and rebuilt at the same time.

- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

- Hang in there, Stephanos. You must resist. This could be the key to how others like you can finally be accepted.

- AAAAAAAAAA

Stephanos struggled against the steel table so violently that the steel clamps that kept him trapped began to hurt him.

Stephanos' screams were deafening, but they didn't seem to bother Simon much, who was now looking at Stephanos with a smile as he increased the energy in the circle.

He felt the same energy within him growing within Stephanos.

- Come on, just a little more.

Simon continued, and after a few seconds, he finally stopped. Looking at Stephanos, who was sweating and bleeding from his seven orifices, with some parts of his body bruised and bleeding, he smiled faintly

- Congratulations, Stephanos. You are a wizard now.

- Seriously…so it was…a success?

- Yes

- I can…finally…see them again…

- Of course,

- Thank you...Simon...

Stephanos died within seconds of awakening his magical power. Simon looked at Stephanos's body for a while before removing his gloves and picking up a notebook.

Squib transmutation for a wizard. The process was successfully completed.

Result: The study object successfully awakened the recessive magic gene within itself but died a few seconds later.

Reason for Failure: Possible incompatibility with donated blood, probably the blood of a magician linked to the family must be used, awaiting new test objects to confirm the thesis.

Another factor could be the body's way of protecting itself against magic. The thesis that abortions cannot use it due to the body suppressing the magic gene must be studied in more detail.

Simon closed the notebook and took Stephanos's body to a different room, one he had never shown Stephanos before. In it, large glass cylinders were exposed on both sides, along with some floating bodies. Most had pieces missing or some kind of deformity, they were the first prototype homunculi created by Simon.

Just a foundation for something bigger. Transmuting a human body is not difficult, the reason human transmutation is a "failure" is that people try to bring their soul back, which is impossible, at least in the FMA universe. In this new world where there are ghosts and the like, Simon was confident he could bring people back to life, he just needed to study a little more.

Taking Stephanos' body to one of the cylinders, Simon carefully placed him and poured a strange green liquid over him. It was a strange chemical solution that would keep Stephanos' body from rotting and keep him afloat while appearing to regenerate his body's injuries.

- Don't worry, we'll see you again, Stephanos, or rather... XXXXX

Simon left the room and went to rest, it had been a stressful day, and he still needed to check his left eye after all.

At the headquarters of the Ministry of Magic, Fudge was furious, complaining to the Aurors about the warehouse explosion.

- Didn't you find anything?

- Yes sir.

- How come they can't find anything? What about witnesses and clues with Muggles?

- There were no witnesses at the scene, sir.

- And all we discovered was that the truck was transporting human beings. It was probably an attempt to carry out some type of ritual, but it went wrong as there was nothing else in the place.

- Any bodies?

- Nothing

- And what about other clues?

- Due to how chaotic the magic of the place is, we think it will take at least a month before everything returns to normal. At that point, any hope of finding anything useful is zero.

- Damn... Moody, what's your opinion?

Moody, who until now had been sitting silently thinking, looked at Fudge, who immediately shrank a little. The markings on his face, his artificial eye, and his own history made Moody someone to be feared.

- I have the impression that there is something more to all of this, and whatever happened at that place... whoever was responsible must have achieved his objective. But Dawlish is correct. Any attempt to get any more clues will be useless.

As he was thinking about what to do, a middle-aged woman came in from the office, angrily looking at Fudge.

- Amelia. What's the problem? We are discussing an important topic now

- If it's so important, why wasn't I informed?

- Well-

- It doesn't matter, Moody, what happened?

Seeing Amelia tell him, Fudge was a little angry, but he held back a little. Unlike him, Amelia actually had the respect of a large part of the Aurors, although she was still subordinate to him, her presence was much more appreciated by many.

- A possible ritual using humans as some type of sacrifice was carried out last night. We have no idea if it was successful or not, but the magic at the site is in a chaotic state and is impossible to use, at least for now.

- Is this really possible?

- Yes.

- Fudge, what are you planning to do now?

- I'm going to send a message to Dumbledore, the school year is about to end, and he'll have some time off. I'll ask him to check the place out.

- In fact, he is the best choice now. Moody, could you accompany him?

- No problem.

- Dawlish, you're still on this case for now, at least until Dumbledore comes. Anything useful you find out would be good for us.

- Yes ma'am.

- You can leave

- Finally, if you will excuse me, I've got some Death Eaters to catch.

Watching Moody and Dawlish leave, Amelia finally found herself alone with Fudge.

- I don't mind it being Minister Fudge, but I hope you follow the rules. The next time you move one of my Aurors without my authorization, it won't be so simple.

Amelia turned and left, going to take care of other matters. Fudge just snorted at Amelia's threat, he didn't really care about her that much. As long as he maintained the support of Malfoy and Dumbledore, he would be more than safe. He wandered into his own thoughts and delusions as he sent a letter to Dumbledore, who at this moment was having to deal with two major problems

The first was the arrival of Harry Potter in the next period and his connection to Voldemort. And the second was a new prophecy made by Professor Trelawney last night.

************

I am still alive. With my thesis approved, I can finally start my field research. Do you know what it means? That's right, I'll have to find a way to post at least 3 caps a week, but don't worry, you'll receive them.

I still have no idea what this prophecy will be like. So far, only one reader has written me one, and I'm quite happy with it, but I'd really like more people to give their ideas. I find this fun.

As for the poor corpse of the poor squib, it will be used as the basis for the first Homunculus to be created, and guess what? You chose it.

So I'm going to open a poll that will be available for 48 hours. The one with the most votes will be created, and as for what it will look like, I will leave that honor to you, reader "Kinshi", the biggest donor of power stones in the work. After me, of course :)
