7 You're Hero's
When it comes to cooking Theodore becomes blind and deaf to the world outside of the culinary arts.
He started by dividing the beef into 300 portions.
Form each portion he loosely shaped it into a 3/4-inch-thick burger and made impression in the centre with his thumb.
Season both sides of each burger with salt and pepper.
Brush the burgers with oil. Grill the burgers until golden brown and slightly charred on the first side for 3 minutes.
Flip over the burgers. Cook beef burgers until golden brown and slightly charred on the second side until cooked.
Adding thick slice medium cheddar cheese to the still-hot burgers.
Sandwich the hot burgers between the buns and serve immediately. Not forgetting the dill pickle slices, caramelized onions, Tomato, iceberg lettuce and his own personal secret sauce.
Theodore called out while still flipping burgers "If you could please wash your hands first"
After his words, the ordinary-looking dark brown round wooden tables opened up from the centre presenting a water fountain.
The Avengers and the kids came out of their little food fantasy seeing the water fountain.
Sticking their hands into the flowing water fountain they found themselves feeling a tingling sensation all over their hands.
They couldn't help feel the need to thoroughly wash every nook and cranny. The water fountain stopped and sunk back down as the table closed up.
"Interesting, my hands aren't wet. Hey, chef, you wouldn't mind me opening a table or two find out how it works," Said, Tony while looking down his hands.
"Yes, I would so stop. Think nanites" Said Theodore while still making more burgers.
"So you've even got nanites. Jarvis clear my schedule for the next month or two. I can't allow ourselves to be bested" Said Tony
A few minutes later Theodore was done and created a mountain made up of 300 burgers with every single one looking identical.
*GULP*
Never in their lives have they looked at a mountain of food and thought it was beautiful but today that's exactly what they see.
A beautiful golden brown bun, lush light green lettuce, glistening red tomatoes, rich brown caramelised onions, succulent sliced pickles, thick orange sauce, bright yellow cheese that melted around the thick juicy burger with a bun on the bottom.
'Perfection' Was the thought that bounced around their heads.
"100 for Thor and the best beer. . . 20 for Steve. . . 2 for Natasha. . . . 5 for Clint with onion rings. . . . 40 for Jennifer and 5 for Tony, one for Rose and Chloe Is that alright" Asked Theodore
None of them gave a verbal answer as they blankly nod while their stomachs gave a terrifying growl filled with hunger.
"Hulk, Meat!" Said Mini Hulk in anger
"Don't worry the rest is for you?" Said, Theodore
"Meat," Said Hulk with an understanding nod
Theodore then made all their orders appear at the table.
Thor looked at his order and then looked at kid Hulk with a small mountain in front of him "Come now little friend, you are much too small to eat all of this"
As Thor reaches over at his food Hulk throws out a punch.
Before a connection was made figure appeared like a ghost. The figure held Hulks fist up high forcing him to dangle loosely.
Thor's reaching hand was grasped at thumb and pulled back causing him to bend forwards in agony.
Looking up the smiling Theodore that dealt with their scuffle like they were children. His smile was warm but his eyes stabbed their very being.
"I'll let this slide as Hulk is mentally just kid but Thor if my memory serves me right you are an adult. If this happens again I'll. . . BAN you from eating here" Said Theodore seriously
Hulk seemed to of understood as his natural angry face changed to that of shock before speaking with a stutter "M-M-meat"
"I understand" Said Thor with a pained face
"Good, now please enjoy" Said Theodore as he sat down with the girls and Hulk.
The Avenger was momentarily frozen still from how easily their main force was so easily dealt with.
They came back from their stupor realising that their food was waiting to be eaten.
Slowly picked up the burger, brought it their mouths and bit down with a delicate force.
The moment they bit into they felt themselves fall into soft green pastures of the great outdoors.
They felt the suns heat caress their skin as the cows in the region mooed joyfully and frolic around them.
They saw farmland growing lettuce, cucumbers, onions and tomatoes. The farm's plants swayed to the warm breeze that passed through.
They were pulled out of their vibrant fantasy as their first bite disappears into their digestive system.
Clint looked at his burger in astonishment and asked: "W-what was that?"
"What you just experienced is the highest level of cooking. This is the ability to portray and deliver emotions through taste, which inturn creates an image" Said Theodore with a cocky smile
"It felt so real," Said Tony as he looked at the surrounding he had returned to.
"Hehehe the cows looked so silly, Moo," Said Rose as she smiled happily.
"I liked the dancing tomatoes," Said Chloe as she pulled out her little pocket sketchbook and quickly drew a red ball.
"So what you think" Said Theodore with a keen spark in his eyes
"Tender, juicy and full of natural flavour, crunchy, earth. Simply incredible!!" Said Jennifer she grabs another burger before stuffing it down her throat.
The others followed on after her.
Natasha was just barely keeping her calm and collected persona as she bit into her burger and signalled towards Theodore to come to sit at her table.
Theodore did not mind and stood up and left the kids table and sat at Natasha's table with just the two of them.
Theodore smiled seeing her eyes dart from him to the burger and said "Go ahead ask your questions"
"What are your motives or objectives?" Said Natasha as she bit into the burger.
Theodore smiled while pointing to the kid's table and said "That's my motive"
Natasha gave an understanding nod and asked "Is that truly your motive?"
Theodore replied with a sigh and said "A persons motive change depending on their circumstances. You understand this, yes"
Natasha nodded before taking another bite
"If someone threatens my original motive to keep my girls happy and healthy then my new motive would be to make that someone disappear. You understand this, right? Family comes first" Said, Theodore with a suggestive voice.
Natasha's hand stopped and shook hearing those words and his tone before asking "Just how much do you know?"
"Sadly too much to keep track but don't worry I'm not trying to threaten yours. When the time comes you can ask for my help" whispered Theodore
Natasha stared into his deep blue eyes looking for any signs of deceit.
"So any more questions?" Said, Theodore
"Yes, are you. . . ." Just as Natasha was about to ask Jennifer shuffled across from her table with her tray of 40 burgers and said daringly ". Single"
Theodore was taken back by her blunt question but still replied simply with "Yes"
"O-okay that umm good," Said Jennifer while looking away timidly
Theodore played dumb and asked, "Why is it good?"
"Umm I'm just gonna enjoy my burgers, Thank you," said Jennifer as she eats away at her stupidity
"So your question Natasha?" Said Theodore
"How long have you been prepared for Loki's plan?" asked, Natasha
The Avengers stopped eating thinking how terrifying the ordeal would have been if not for Theodore's appearance.
This did not include Hulk as he was enjoying his food wholeheartedly.
"It's been two months," Said Theodore
Tony was the first to reply "Why did you not just deal with the rest?"
"To the people, I would not be looked at with thanks but with fear because my strength sits far too high above their imagination. Unlike you guys, you struggled and with pure willpower, you faced an army and won" Said, Theodore
"But we didn't need to struggle?" Said, Tony with a tightened fist
"I disagree, do you actually think that this will be the last invasion. If so then you need a reality check. There will be more invasion. The world needs people who will stand and fight even when the odds are not in their favour. They need Hero's like the Avengers that can relate to the feeling of being small and weak. You guys are Hero's, be proud of your achievement. My existence can never take that away from you. So remember your heroes" Said Theodore
Theodore was not lying even with all the strength in his body he was still not eligible for the title of a hero and that's simply because he does not have the same ideology that a hero posses.
If anything Theodore is a tactician one who goes into the battle with malicious preparation. If it doesn't appear to be in his favour he retreats allowing the other to take the territory.
Theodore is a dad above everything thing else. Theodore's life is the foundation of his kid's happiness.
His noble sacrifice would only cause pain to his daughters and he would never allow his daughter to experience such a painful thing.
"I'm not suite to be a hero but I can give a hand if necessary," Said Theodore honestly.
