The Setting - Mystara

Mystara is the world this story will take place in. It is one of the original DND adventure settings. (Current books, i.e. 5th edition, takes place in the Sword Coast setting. Which is also where most of the video games take place i.e. Baldur's Gate). There is a great website/resource called Pandius.com which contains all the old source materials from way back (between 1981 and 1996) and has several PDFs to help people understand the setting and other stuff if I can interest you in the world.

I'll update the auxiliary volume with new locations and stuff as the story progresses. But I'll start with the basics.

Mystara contains 3 principle landmasses: Brun, Skothar, and Davania. ( there's also a massive island called Alphatia, think Australia). The "known" or "civilized" world is similar in size to Europe located on the Eastern edge of Brun. (Davania is the biggest continent)

There is also a underworld or hollow earth sort of thing going on as well, and the remnants of a extremely technologically advanced culture that blew themselves back to the Stone Age. Elves dwarves humans all have their own distinctive cultures. ( there are orcs and dragons too).

Magic plays a large role in this world as well. There's a whole country ruled by a upper class of wizards, there are gods who take deep interest in the lives of their chosen mortals.

I'm sure there is lots I missed but It shouldn't matter until I actually start posting chapters...
