10 Dark Souls: Don't be squeamish.

Wanting to get it out of the way, Drake dragged all the available bodies to the ash Cemetary courtyard next to the broken chalice, where he had found the shield.

Using his knife while trying not to throw up, he made incisions into the arm opening up the sinewy muscle.

He pulled on the humerus bone, not quite finding anything humorous about it, and tried to rip it out but It was locked in place by the joints, so Drake had to wedge his dagger in between the bones and cut out the cartilage, after which, it came out with a sharp twist, sounding like the snapping of wood.

Drake did this for all the Hollow limbs before moving on to the ribs. He slit open the tissue surrounding the sternum. Placing his foot on its pelvis for anchorage, he reached in and, with all his strength, pulled back, directly snapping apart the rib cage.

Leaving the Hollows pelvises (Drake didn't want to even think about cutting apart anything down there) spines and heads in their now mushy deflated remains. He moved his bones and piled them inside the chalice.

"I'll file them down later, first I gotta scout out the monster, I'm gonna need a rough idea of its size before digging out a pit," Drake talked to himself and finding comfort in his own words, he tried to forget what he had just done.

Drake walked down the path he knew the lizard to be down, it was filled with deep water, so deep in fact that it came up to Drake's upper waist, he waddled through this, his feet smushing on the muddy floor. Drake held his Estus flask in his hand in case it floated out of his pocket into the murky water, never to be seen again.

He reached the bank and crouched down stealthily, moving along the right-side rock face he edged his way slowly up to where the Crystal Lizard rested.

Peeking out from behind cover, he spotted it.

It sat upright over the smashed fragments of several tombstones.

The creature had six demonic limbs, each one larger than Drake's entire body, its skin was a gritty tar-black, and at the end of each wrist was a sinister three-pronged claw hand. From parts of its hind legs, its upper set of arms, head, and back sprouted out frosty blue crystals.

It was an imposing devilish creature.

Factoring in all the variables Drake modified his plan, he would have to dig a bigger pit than he expected to have to for one.

It was also gonna be tricky to bait the creature into following him to the trap he dug, without getting killed, he couldn't make one this side of the cemetery, not knowing how good the things hearing was, and he didn't want to risk the chance that it would find him.

Alternatively, it was likely to catch up with him if he dug the pit on the other side of the cemetery and had it chase him through the water.

Even if he lured it successfully and it fell into the pit trap if reality mirrored the game, that thing had a heck of a jump, He would have to think up a method to keep it trapped in the pit. Otherwise, it could just hop out.

Drake noticed an inclined slope path behind him. He clambered to its top.

At this precipice, were a few protruding rocks, marking the edge to a seven or eight-meter dropdown.

The drop stopped by at the deepest part of the water Drake had waded through to get to this side.

"The water looks deep enough to jump into, and I'm sure the water will be a better buffer for me, than the monster."

Drake factored the terrain into his plans before returning across the water to his bone pile, and he got to work.

Using the rough stone of the chalice as a file, he filed down both the ends of each bone in his collection till they formed lethal sharp points. On the thickest side of the bone, with his knife, he notched in a spiked barb, that would hopefully hold the lizard in place. He ripped up some tree trunks from nearby, using his shield to shovel them up, and hammered his bone spikes into them, using all but one of the bones.

He used the last bone to fashion a spear, using a thick flexible root as the body he carved it down until it was wieldy.

Next came the most arduous part so far, he dug out an approximately 6 and a half meter cubed pit, his shield now being his go-to staple shovel, even after being enhanced by multiple souls, it took him the better part of a full day, leaving him completely exhausted.

He threw down his bone spiked trunks into the pit and climbed down on wooden stakes he had carved out and hammered into the pit side, he scooped out little burrows in the earth, shimmied the trunks in as best he could, before packing them down with the displaced dirt.

The pit was almost done, Drake just needed to mesh together a cover, so the trap was hidden from the monsters sights.

"Tomorrow, I will get the rest done tomorrow," he told himself before slouching over, leaning and sliding down the pit wall before nodding off. Dead tired.
