14 Laying in the Dark

"Why are we doing this life revealing ritual here?" I ask the woman setting up candles on the floor and lighting them one by one by her fire magic.

"This place has magic residuals that can mask my magic and we won't have to worry about General Min Joon spying on us." Lady Moon replies, opening the candles bundled in a paper that she carries on her left arm.

"Do you believe the real Taeyang is having a relationship with the general?" I ask the elven lady as I wrap myself with a large cloth and start to undress. Lady Moon requires me to remove my clothing while we do the spell.

"I-I don't know…" The hazelnut haired woman simply reacts without glancing at me. The woman's face suddenly changes as I mention the secret I unravel to them.

"Will this help me get connected with Miri again?" I inquire to change the subject of the conversation yet the woman's mood appears to stay gloomy after my first question.

"We'll get our answer once we get to know your body." Lady Moon answers, lighting the last candle on the floor and guiding me to stand in a spot at the center of the room.

"Okay." I nod my head, waiting for the next action that the woman asks of me.

"Remember, I don't know which one will connect to my magic, you will see the memory once it starts." The woman explains, holding my waist to move a step to the left to align my body to the center of the room.

"Okay," I respond to the elven lady's direction.

"Why do I have to be almost naked?" I ask as I fix the large cloth wrapped in my body but Lady Moon did not answer my question.

The cold floor of the room makes my skin shiver. The frightening darkness in one of the remaining spaces of the once prison cell gives me doubts to lay my half-naked body on the floor. Lady Moon convinces me that this is the only way we can find answers on who wants to kill the Queen and prince of the Elf Kingdom of Alfar and how I can break the spell of Lady Shade that stops me from connecting with my dragon, Miri.

Lady Moon draws a white circle marking with her magic. She added a square with each corner pointing to the four basic elements of the world. Fire, water, earth, and wind. Entities balancing nature. Inside the square is a five-pointed star that represents the human senses. Touch, sight, smell, hearing, and taste. Perceptions that bring strength to the body. At the center of the star is an eye. An all-seeing symbol of the sixth sense. Where spirituality can perceive beyond the physical form and reach beyond the world of the living.

As I close my eyes, Lady Moon starts to invoke spells, setting her body on top of me by putting her legs between my torso and sitting on my stomach.

I feel my body gets lighter with each word. Darkness fills every cell of my skin until my core is lifted out of my form. Like a feather, I am lifted away from the foreign body I was caged to by the dragon and I see the darkroom illuminated by candles and light coming from Lady Moon.

As I stand watching the elven woman continue to cast a spell I hear a growling nearby.

"Miri?"

"Did Lady Moon cast a spell to get you out of your body?"

"No. She invokes one to find who killed the real Taeyang but I guess since she called the memory of the body it expels the spirit that is not connected with it."

"That is likely to happen. It also solves the mystery of how our connection gets blocked by the Witch's spell."

"How?"

"The Witch heightens your soul's significance and it disrupts your alignment with your body. The flow of our union gets blocked that way and for us to have a connection again, we need to balance your body's essence."

"Heighten my body's significance? How do we do that?"

"What did the Witch make you do at her castle?"

I blushed thinking about what happened.

"You don't need to be shy of me. I know everything that is inside your mind."

I scoff as Miri reminds me of our connection and question myself how I don't know anything about the dragon.

"Taeyang…" Lady Moon whispers as tears fall down the woman's cheek while gazing at the unconscious body.

My attention goes to the woman sitting on the body that I borrowed in this world. The hazelnut brown hair and the charming face of an angel urge me to feel sad about her situation. Lady Moon's restrained her emotions for the woman she loves only to find out she's gone and secretly having an affair with a general that she treats as a friend. To top that, we accused the real Taeyang as the usurper from the information I got from Lady Shade or the Witch.

I step forward and kneel on the floor to touch Lady Moon's face, and as I reach her soft cheeks the body of Taeyang moves at the same time as mine. The unconscious corpse shifts itself to raise its upper torso and stretch its arms so its hand can clear the tears away flowing freely on the skin of the elven lady.

"T-Taeyang…" Lady Moon stutters, holding Taeyang's fingers with both of her hands, and softly kisses its digits with her pinkish rims.

"Taeyang…" Lady Moon calls out the name once again as I stare at her saddened eyes, she grasps the hand of Taeyang and lays it on her right breast.

My eyes go wide as Lady Moon guides the unconscious woman's hand to grab the flesh mounted on her chest. Her eyes now glow with yearning, lowering her eyelids and biting her lips.

I quickly turn around to stop myself from watching what the woman intends to do next. My curiosity begins to eat away my sense of respect for myself as I hear Lady Moon let out a faint moan over her breath. I bite my lower lip as the warm aura starts to make my body glow from the heat of the woman's action. The quivering sensation transcends into my soul and I sense the euphoria of overwhelming emotion envelop my essence. I wrap myself with my arms to stay calm yet Lady Moon's cravings for desire lingers, sending my thoughts with different images of the woman satisfying her yearning for love.

Love. I recall Lady Shade and the illusion that she cast upon me. How it feels to satisfy your desire and be betrayed by the knowledge it was not real.

I need to stop this.

I stood up from my spot and opened my eyes to see Lady Moon's exposed body on top of the unconscious Taeyang. I don't know how I can occupy the body again but I try to lay my spirit on top of the elven Taeyang. An electrifying sensation engulfs my body and I wake up feeling like I fell from the bed with a loud thud on my ears.

Lady Moon kisses my lips as I open my eyes. Her warm body grinds against mine in a slow rhythm of passion that only our body can understand. The woman's kisses are deep, enticing my tongue to keep my mouth open and taste the sweet sensation it brings. The elven lady's hand fondles my breast with tenderness. I feel myself being swayed by the passion of the woman.

This isn't right.

I lift my arms and wrap them around the woman's body, stopping the motion of our torso from stroking into each other creating fire that warms our core. Lady Moon looks at me with wide eyes, bewildered by my action to stop what was happening between us.

"Why?" The woman asks with a high pitched tone, the pain in her voice echoes throughout the room.

"I'm not the Taeyang you love," I answer calmly with a low presence yet stern sound.

"You can be. You have her body." Lady Moon yells fighting her way out of my embrace.

"I want you to give yourself to someone who loves you," I explain, wrapping her body tighter to mine to stop her from struggling out of arms.

"W-What if I am cursed not to be loved?' The elven lady begins to quiver and weep heavily on my shoulder.

"Fate has its way, you told me that." I gently caress her exposed back with my hand, consoling her from the pain and loss she suffers from.

I close my eyes and let my hands comfort the woman. Making Lady Moon have a sense of security around me is how I can show my deep respect for her. If I am not in love with Lady Shade, I know I would have fallen madly in love with her sister yet fate has put us in a place where we face a life we don't want, and fighting our destiny means chaos and destruction.

"Can we stay like this for a little more time?" Lady Moon mutters, holding tight into my body as we both lay naked on the floor with a large white cloth on our backs and the remains of the woman's clothing to cover our intimate parts.

"We can stay like this as long as you want," I reply, kissing the woman's head as sweetly as I can.

"How about I'll tell you about what happened the day of the first attack of the dragon." Lady Moon says, looking into my eyes and fixing strands of hair that covers my purple eyes.

"Will it be a long story?" I ask and let out a gleam on my lips.

"It is. But first I want you to learn the truth." Lady Moon withdraws the smile on her face and the gloom that I once saw came back as the memories of that day begins to break the woman's heart again.

"What truth?" I ask, worrying about what kind of truth Lady Moon has to confess. I know the woman has been concealing information from me but I don't know the scope of its depth that the woman chose not to speak of.

"I'm the one who killed Taeyang and not Shade."
