52 Chapter 52

In the parking lot of Smallville High as he got out of the red truck. Leonardo pulled his bag out of the back as Clark slung his own over his shoulder. For it was the start of their final year of highschool.

"So did you meet Lana?" Leonardo asked.

"She's different." Clark replied. "Slightly more…stable I guess. Though still throws a fit when told the truth she demands."

Leonardo laughed. "She wants the truth but not all truths are great to hear."

"She is also slightly different, slightly more mature in some ways." Clark mumbled slightly confused.

"Well she did go to another part of the world. She might have had a fling or three there." Leonardo answered by opening the school door. "Anyways, there is a new assistant coach for the football team, or so I heard."

"I thought you didn't care for football." Clark pointed out.

"I don't, but Aurora knows the guy as apparently he caused trouble in her family club and was banned from entry. Which is amazing as they usually allow anyone in and only banned three people in total and he is the third." Leonardo answered.

"What did he do?" Clark asked.

"Try to start an orgy at fifteen and invite Aurora who was a couple years younger than him to help start it." Leonardo smiled. "Let just say neither Aurora or her family were amused and banned him permanently."

"Really?" Clark looked stunned.

"Yeah and it is not because of what he attempted to start, but when being underage and inviting other underage kids to party with adults. That's when the issue comes in." Leonardo shrugged.

"The Kent brothers, please don't talk about such topics on school grounds." Principal Reynold warned as they walked past him.

Later on while sitting in the Torch, Leonardo was laying on the couch looking at the ceiling. He was waiting on Clark while Chloe was working out what order the stories for the next issue is in. When Clark walked in with a weird expression as if he saw something weird.

"I just saw something weird." Clark stated.

"The two pretty cheerleaders in the classroom a few rooms over?" Leonardo looked at the wall.

Peeking through the walls, he saw a few younger cheerleaders in a heavy makeout session while a few of their friends sighed in defeat. Not that they weren't the ones being kissed but due having to fulfill their end of becoming the two girls' servants for the day. Since the bet between the four the two wouldn't make out in a classroom during school hours.

For why such bet was made, Leonardo didn't know nor really cared. Since the group wanted to play like this, then so be it. If nothing else it was a bit of entertainment for him and even if they are discovered, besides some embarrassment, it shouldn't do them much harm.

"What? No." Clark shook his head. "I went to chat with the new assistant coach and found Lana in there with him. Then they began to shift uncomfortably as if they were caught with their hand in the cookie jar."

"Oh." Leonardo shrugged, not really caring.

He really didn't care what Lana got up to or like to play a dangerous game of taboo with teacher dating students. No matter if they were dating before he became a teacher. It was a recipe for disaster and will hurt the school credibility once they are found out. For Leonardo knows that Lana and the heir to a fortune aren't the best at keeping secrets if Clark found out on the first day.

"Shall we report suspicious activity between the two? If something fishy is going on, it is best if the school finds out now instead of later and loses credibility." Leonardo sat up excited thinking it a chance to get back at Lana for the grief of last year.

"Maybe she really was giving him the lay of the land like she said." Clark shifted uncomfortably.

"If her definition of lay of the land is with her back on his desk with her legs spread." Leonardo retorted, annoyed.

Clark didn't retort or try to defend Lana like he would normally do, since he clearly didn't believe Lana's lousy excuse. Not to mention her bad acting but when you have super hearing, it is easy to tell when others lie since most aren't skilled in the art.

"I see your opinion of her didn't improve over the summer." Chloe interjected.

"I seem to have met a teen named Jimmy who interned at the Daily Planet a couple years ago. He mentioned he knew a certain blonde that goes here and the time they had." Leonardo shot Chloe a look.

"Right, nevermind." Chloe quickly changed topics. "So how is my cousin doing on the farm?"

"Troubled by an issue on her college application." Clark sighed. "Anyways she mentioned that she will be leaving later tonight."

"Did a college accept her?" Leonardo asked. "Last I knew, she didn't hear back yet."

"Minor technicality and she just knows she is accepted and prepared." Clark answered him.

--

After school and on the farm, Leonardo and Clark were shooting some hoops. While Lois was packing up her car when a man arrived on the farm and stepped out of his vehicle. He wore the army uniform and had three stars as he looked to be in his late forties.

"You two are good? How come you aren't on the school team?" Lois asked.

"Clark wants to play football, while I am a proud member of the home club." Leonardo replied.

"What Leonardo fails to mention is most clubs at school don't want him and he has no interest in playing sports." Clark added. "He beat the Chess Team president so bad last school year he couldn't join."

"I didn't take you as a nerdy time, Leo." Lois said as if shocked at the revelation. "You know sports is like a one way ticket out of the geek zone."

"Did I tell you how much I am going to miss you?" Clark said, a bit annoyed.

"Well, this nerd as you generously put it, is a slightly well known proud artist and author…part time." Leonardo huffed, before turning to the new arrival. "Good afternoon sir."

"Good afternoon, Leonardo, Clark." Sam Lane greeted them before delivering his news. "Not to worry, though, Clark. You will be seeing Lois more than you think. I'm sure you will be happy to show her around this coming Monday."

"Around where?" Lois and Clark asked.

"Bright and early Monday morning. You start Smallville High." Sam said to Lois.

"I thought you said you graduated?" Clark pointed out.

"She failed the last semester." Sam Lane simply said despite Lois' glare.

Leonardo slapped Clark's arm when he laughed lightly. So he turned to Sam and decided to throw Clark under the bus due to his rudeness. "Clark will be glad to tutor Lois and help her pass her classes."

"I will?" Clark had a strange look.

"He will?" Lois asked.

"Is that a problem?" Sam and Leonardo asked at the same time.

"No." Clark and Lois mumbled.

"Well, I best be off and thank you for looking over my little girl." Sam said and thanked the two.

After seeing Sam off, Leonardo decided to run for it, since both Clark and Lois glared at him. Hence he did the most reasonable thing and ran for Aurora and Martha to protect him.
