1 Prologue

Kai sat on the floor of his bedroom looking at the things she left behind. He hadn't known just how painful leaving her would be. He knew he had no choice. That his parents would take any way possible to tear her away from him and toss her out of life but he still had a small spark of hope in his heart that maybe he would find a way for them to be together.

All he could remember were her sobs as she cried into his chest after he told her that they couldn't be together.

He tried to compose himself but silent tears made their way down his face as his mind replayed all those moments he had spent with her. He had known he was the heir to his father's business empire and came from a long line of rich and noble ancestors but he had hoped that he would be allowed to find his own happiness.

He had been such an idiot. He closed his tired eyes as the moonlight coming from the windows illuminated his handsome profile which managed to look beautiful despite his pitiful appearance.

He wished she found happiness again as he was unsure if he ever would.
