1 Who were you before they broke you

ーElios Jade Cole, 15ー

It was that time, she'd finally been thrown in. Elios, she was mentally ill, she was sent to a mental hospital. But because of her incident, she was thrown in the quiet room, the room for the specialist of mental ill people. She was quiet, she gave in so easily, and now every time she was offered to come out, she declined. She would always say, "I'd rather be here than the hell outside." She thought her room was the only sanctuary, she stayed there all the time, ignoring everything and everyone outside.

It was finally her second year there, it's honestly only felt like five days to her. Elios had a small black crayon from one of the other patients, the only thing she drew on her wall was...A bunny, a small, smiling bunny. Although she loved all animals, she loved rabbits the most. For her, rabbits are the only animals that are considered therapeutic for her. However, she has only few things she considers therapeutic, the second would be...Her friends. In all of Elios's life, she has had a total of twenty-one friends, however, twenty of them suffered being poisoned by her, and the last one friend, was eaten by her. Elios has always been a carnivore, since she was born, she had a craving for a certain meat. However, she was not able to accomplish that until she was nine. She stabbed a thirty-five year old woman, she died instantly of course. Elios didn't know what to do with the body, so, she tore it apart and ate it, she ate it raw to be exact. And that was it, the taste she longed for.

As for poison, it was all thanks to a piece of fur, rabbit fur. A single piece, could easily be turned into an antidote or poison, she rarely used her antidotes, she had sadly only poisoned thirty-one people, but, she had eaten twenty-three people, and all of that achieved at such a young age. Even Elios herself doesn't know why she kills people, she just does. She mainly will find certain people who seem to have a bad life, she manipulates them, and eventually when they betray her, she poison's them. Leaving them to recover in a hospital, all for failure. The people who have met Elios, have always died.

ーElios Jade Cole, 17ー

It was finally her second year, she couldn't sleep, not when she had drawn twelve more bunny's on her wall. In those two years, she has drawn a total of thirteen bunny's, she honestly thought there'd be more by now. However, she still couldn't sleep, she fell back and stared at the ceiling. She lightly spoke to herself. "When will you show yourself? I know you're there, I guess I'm just not ready." She knew she wasn't talking to anyone, she was just speaking to herself, the self of her she wishes to see and show, only so she can hide the real Elios, the Elios with sanity left in her.

Still, she couldn't sleep, she sat back up and grabbed her crayon. When she was done, she had drawn twelve more bunny's on the wall. She was simply just too bored, she had no wish to draw more bunny's. She fell back again, she closed her eyes, and heard a quiet laugh, that turned into a loud chuckle. Then another, and another, and another, all coming from Elios. She howled with laughter that could be heard throughout the building, was this it? Was this the feeling she longed for? Yes, insanity. No, only madness. A small bit of madness, soon, Elios will be the maddest of them all. But of course, only the best people are mad. Elios finally achieved her long awaited feeling, with this, she was able to sleep peacefully.

Morning came, she woke up around 8:37, she was woken by a guard, the guard knocked on her door and spoke softly. "Listen, Cole, you wanna come out? If not, then just sa-" The guard was interrupted by Elios's words, she spoke in return. "No, I think I'd like to come out." After those words, the guard's face lit up with excitement, she swung the door open for Elios. Elios slowly got up and walked outside, outside...The place she was concerned of, oh well. She shrugged it off and headed to the main room. She didn't like talking to people in a crowded area, she grabbed a chair and sat in a corner away from the other patients. Sadly, her alone time didn't last long, one of the patient's came up to her, a girl patient.

The girl seemed friendly, Elios stared at her, mainly so she can memorize this specific girl. There was complete silence, until the girl broke it by speaking to Elios softly. "Hiya! I'm Avaline, you can call me Ava. Oh wait- you're her! You're Elios! Well, most of us just call you the 'mad doctor', so eh." After those words, Elios was still quiet. She did expect to have a nickname, but not that one. She forced a small smile and spoke in return. "Hello, Ava. It's a pleasure to meet you, but please, call me Eli, that's what my friends call me anyway." Friend. Elios hasn't referred anyone as her friend in forever, maybe she has a plan? Knowing her, it's a possibility.

Avaline smiled sweetly and shook Elios's hand enthusiastically, she was probably just acting friendly. Well, the introductions were over, Elios and Avaline spent all the free time they could together. They mainly just discussed their past and the reason their here, Avaline never heard the full reason Elios was here, she was quite shocked. But not as shocked as Elios was when she heard Avaline's story. Turns out, Avaline is full on maniac. She see's things no one else really can, she thinks it's a talent. Oh great, she's one of those. Those delusional maniacs.

As the day went by, they indeed grew closer, but Elios still couldn't actually call Avaline her friend.

Free time was over, Elios and every other patient were sent back to their rooms. Elios gladly went back to her room, but once she sat in her corner, she could feel something. But what? Was it another emotion? No. It was a tune. She could see no person around, maybe it was Avaline's, Avaline's tune was added to Elios's mind. Since was Elios was at least twelve, she could hear the melody of people's hearts. The song everyone had, was truly beautiful, she also used that to decide if that person should die. Avaline, you might meet a terrible fate for meeting Elios.

Great. Another year, but, Elios finally made a 'friend' in this hell hole. However, nothing really changed, except Elios would go outside every chance she got to hang out with Avaline. Well, actually, manipulate.

She's been here for quite some time, it was time. She's been thinking of a plan for at least 7 months, she won't give up on her murdering streak. Well, it was breakfast time, Elios sat right next to Avaline, like always. But once it was almost time to go, Elios sneaked into the kitchen, of course she didn't get caught. What did she do? Simple, she quickly grabbed a sharp steak knife and hid it in her patient coat. When the guard's checked everyone for silverware, they didn't find Elios's knife. Honestly, those fucking idiots. Now that was over, everyone had free time, again. Elios ignored Avaline, as she was crafting a mask, a rabbit mask. A white rabbit to be exact. Elios had a wonderful plan, hopefully it would actually go as planned.

Free time was once again over, Elios was sent to her room with her mask, and a few extra supplies she snuck to make a weapon of her own.

It was officially time, Elios finished her finishing touches on her mask, and her weapon. Now, she had to risk her life to prove what she is. She depended on nothing but luck. She grabbed her steak knife, and pointed it directly at her throat. She had to do it, there's no turning back. She gripped the handle of the knife as tight as possible, and she did it. She stabbed herself straight through the throat, pure red blood slowly dripped from the knife and her neck. But...She was still breathing, she was fine? No. Maybe she didn't do it hard enough. She chuckled softly, as she then started constantly stabbing her throat, again, and again, and again, and again, until...It just wasn't fun anymore. She pulled the knife out of her throat, she was still alive, or perhaps, just dead? Maybe even both? She's not dead, but she's also not alive? Eh. Oh well.

Elios's luck worked, now to continue her master plan. She quickly put her mask on, and grabbed her hand crafted weapon. In her empty hand, she used the steak knife to open her door. It actually worked? Jesus, this place's locks suck. Well, at least her plan was doing well so far. Now, time for the main event, the fun part.

Elios would probably get caught by a guard, and she needed to lure all the patient's, so she hid in the shadows, undetected, and unseen.

The guard that usually checks on Elios walked down the hall, only to see Elios's door wide open. She quickly ran to look inside, she could see nothing, but a bloody steak knife right in the middle of the room. Fear filled her body entirely, she quickly ran to main office to tell the other guards, "Elios Jade Cole, she's not in her room! She's escaped!" This of course caused a panic and emergency throughout the entire facility. Elios had already gotten to other patients, and of course stabbed them constantly in the chest with her weapon. There were only few guards and patients left.

At least 37 minutes passed, everyone was dead. The guards, the patients, except for Avaline. Elios had saved the best for last. Avaline was scared, she was stuck in her room, shaking with pure fear. The only sound that could be heard were the footsteps of Elios's hospital shoes. Elios was so close to Avaline's room, she started singing as she continued walking. Her soft voice, could be heard throughout the building.

As she sung the last words, she was now face to face with Avaline. A grin spread across Elios's face as she spoke softly. "Oh Avaline, you should've expected this. As you've possibly heard, no one meets Elios, and lives to tell the tale. So now, you must die, but don't worry, I'm sure you'll love the pain you're about to receive." Avaline was speechless, she could do nothing but sit there in silence, and accept her fate.

How wonderful, yet sad. Poor Avaline, she was so kind, but that kindness led her where she deserved. Only to be eaten by Elios, all that was left of Avaline, was her skull. But of course, Elios kept it as a sort of gift. Elios Jade Cole had finally got back into business, but now, she has a new taste, and a new murdering spree.
