3 A Goal, And A Pretty Receptionist

After they went to a merchant's shop and exchanged the diamond for 50,000 dwarven coins, the group showed Akuma a few inns, and after he chose one, the group bid him farewell and went on with their mission.

Akuma proceeded to rent a room, not a cheap one, but not a suite either, and now was laying on the bed, staring at the ceiling.

'This world is a lot different than my previous one, but in the end, people everywhere are the same. Some are more malicious, and some are more kind, but in the end, at their core, they all start from the same starting point.

I'm sure that this world has people like my father, who thinks that the world belongs to them and that everyone should serve them, and people like the goddess clan, who force their ideals on others in their path on what they consider right, thinking they know better than anyone else. People like the fairy clan, who wish to be left on their own, wishing to get away from the troubles of the world. And people like the giant clan, who doesn't care for others, wishing to enjoy life in their own way.

The difference between the two worlds, is that unlike in my previous world, no one knows me here. No one expects me to be their good little soldier, and no one tries to kill me just because of my race.

But, potentially, if there are people who can have multiple unique skills, multiple original magic powers, then it means that there is a chance that there will be beings here that are stronger than me and my father or the Supreme Deity.

Power attracts power, so if I'll use my power carelessly, it'll be sure to attract other powerful beings, and in the end, someone who's stronger than me will appear.

That being said, I'm not going to just live in the countryside and do nothing.

I was about the same strength as my father, even stronger using the full extent of my original magic power, and yet I lost in the war. Why was that? Because he had a powerful army and allies who he used to tire me out so he could defeat me, while I had a bunch of lesser demons and a small group of nobles who didn't train a day in their life.

So if I'm going to live in this world, seeking the freedom to do as I wish, and not to cower in front of beings stronger than me, I'll need powerful allies. And what attracts powerful people? Power, money, authority, women, and numerous different interests. And the best way to get access to multiple resources is to rule a country, and that's what I'm going to do.

I'm going to use the fact that this is a small country that no one pays attention to, to subtly take over this country, and by being an adventurer, I'll make a name for myself, meet powerful people who I'll persuade to work under me, and then rebuild this country, so it'll be strong enough to attract even more powerful people...' Akuma thought as he started to plan his future plans of taking over the Kingdom of Blumund...

The next day, after eating breakfast in the inn, Akuma went to the guild in search of his first mission. After looking through multiple missions, he chose one where he had to get 20 Knight Spider's fangs from the Great Forest of Jura.

He approached the green-haired receptionist Kaval talked about yesterday, though what really drew him to her were her pointed ears and presented her with the mission form, saying:

"I wish to accept this mission"

"This is a counter for beginner adventurers, sir. I'm afraid you should go to the adventurers' section" said the receptionist

"But I'm rank E, so I'm supposed to go to this sector, no?"

"You're a rank E!? Then why do you want to take a rank B mission? It'll be too dangerous for a rank E..."

"Even if I'm rank E, it doesn't mean I'm weak, you know? I only registered yesterday, so it's only obvious I'll be at the starter rank. I'm actually strong, you know?" Akuma said, flexing his arm and winked

"I guess you're right... it just that there has been a lot of incidents where adventurers died because they took a mission that outranked them..."

"Then let's make a bet. If I'll come back within 5 hours, you'll give me a kiss. That way I'll have extra motivation to stay alive..." Akuma said with a flirtatious grin and wink, causing the receptionist to giggle and blush, and she decided to humor him and said:

"...You're quite confident, sir. Very well. If you come back within 5 hours, I'll give you a kiss, and maybe even more, if you're lucky..." the receptionist said with a seductive tone, leaning forward, showing off a deep cleavage.

"See you in 5 hours!" Akuma said with a playful grin and went outside of the guild.

"Stupid kid. He doesn't even know that it takes 4 hours of walking to only get to the forest. Though, I guess that every young adventurer that meets Lorelei-San for the first time will think with his dick..." said one of the older adventurers that saw him taking the mission and listened to his conversation with the receptionist Lorelei, who in the meantime was thinking:

'That young man... he has no magicules at all, but that's impossible, as every living being has magicules in their bodies, and I can see the exact amount of magicules in their bodies using my "Enhanced Magic Sense" skill that my family had for generations. I never met someone whose magicules I couldn't see, and I even met some S-ranked adventurers that passed by the guild...

I'll report it to Fuze, and use this new adventurer's attraction to me to maybe get a grasp on his true capabilities. If he's extremely strong, we need to make him attach to Blumund, so we'll finally have a strong individual who lives in this country...

Besides, a young, handsome, muscular, and charismatic man like him will surely be tasty...' Lorelei thought, licking her lips as a spark of arousal coursed through her at her last thought.

2 hours have passed since then, and the story of the bet between Akuma and Lorelei has spread through the adventurers, that sat at the bar in the adventurers' sector, laughing on behalf of the "foolish rookie", and it was finally the time for Lorelei's break to start, as she went through the door that leads to a room at the back of the guild, and used one of the magic circles in the room to teleport to the fifth floor, where the guild master's room is. As she appeared in the room, she saw a man working on some papers.

This was the Guild Master of Blumund's Freedom Association Branch, Fuze. He was a mature man with spiky black hair and the left side of his hair colored white. He had a scar across his left eye. In the days when he was an adventurer, he saved her from slavery during one of his missions, and Lorelei has been following him ever since, looking up to him as if he was her older brother. Fuze lifted his head up to meet Lorelei's eyes, and asked:

"Lorelei? What brings you here?"

"I wanted to tell you about a new adventurer that registered yesterday. I don't know how, but he can hide his magicules from my skill. Even S-ranked adventurers couldn't do that, so it must mean he's even stronger than them! We'll finally have a strong adventurer in our country!"

"Don't be too naive. Even if you can't see his magicules, it doesn't mean he's stronger than S-ranked adventurers. He could have a unique skill that hides his magicules. We need to get a grasp of his abilities and personality" Fuze stated

"I think that I have a way of doing that. He is attracted to me, seeing that he made me bet that if he comes back in five hours from his mission, I'll give him a kiss. I'll use his attraction to me to try and find out more about him"

"And you accepted it? That's unusual of you..." Fuze said with confusion in his voice

"I decided to humor him, seeing that it was a rank B mission in the Jura forest, so I figured he simply didn't know that 4 hours will be lost only to get there. And besides, he is a charismatic and attractive young man, which is completely my type, though if it will be discovered that he only bluffed, as most do, then I won't be as interested anymore"

"Then I don't see what there is even to discuss if he's that foolish to believe that he can complete this mission in five-" Fuze said but was interrupted when another one of the receptionists, the one who registered Akuma yesterday, looking shocked.

"Lily? What happened? I was just telling Fuze what happened in the morning. Is everything okay?" Lorelei asked her fellow receptionist with a worried expression

"I came to call you, and maybe it's better if Fuze-Sama will come too..." Lily said, and the three went down, and as Lorelei opened the door, her eyes widen in shock as she saw the topic of their conversation walking into the guild, holding a huge sack over his shoulder, and as he made eye contact with her, he smirked widely, approached her and said:

"There you are! They were a lot weaker than I thought, so I took the chance, and instead of 20, I collected 100 fangs. I'm sure the client will be happy. And because they were so weak, it took me only 2 hours!"

"H-How???" was the only thing Lorelei could say, and Akuma's smirk widened even more as he got closer to her, and seeing he was taller than her, he tilted her chin up using his unoccupied hand, the act making her blush as he said:

"I told you, didn't I?" he said and leaned forward, so his mouth was next to her ear

"I'm strong" he whispered in a husky tone, sending shivers down her spine, arousal coursing through her body. He then dropped his hand and turned towards the sales sector, and started walking away from her, saying:

"I'll be looking for that kiss, miss pretty receptionist~~~" he said while waving back...
