3 Weird monsters and some answers

You have never seen weird monsters like this in your whole life. You think to yourself while staring at a sludge like monster near the hospital bed.

You subconsciously wrap your arms around little Hiroki and you feel like something is between you and him. It's like you are holding him but you are not at the same time. Like a barrier surrounding him, you can't actually touch little Hiroki.

Panic kicks in at that moment and you have no idea what to do. Whether it is the weird looking monster near your bed or the strange barrier surrounding your baby, you are clueless to do anything.

Little Hiroki looks towards the monster then, looks up to you with his blue eyes and cries.

Does he see the monster too?

You wonder while trying to keep little Hiroki calm.

Soon, little Hiroki calmed but cried again soon enough. However, this time it was as if he was irritated by something.

You had to call the doctors because he wouldn't stop crying and when the doctors ran a few tests on him, they found nothing unusual. But, they still suggested that it might be his eyes as blye eyes are usually more sensitive and he was still a baby. So, you got him some glasses to cover his eyes. However, it was only a matter of time until he starts crying again. Eventually, you ended up with some glasses so dark that no one would be able to see through, yet, little Hiroki seems to have no problem at all. You are quite sure that he can actually see through the glass.

Strange...

You think.

But, you're still glad that he doesn't have any other problems with his eyes except for being so sensitive.

After being discharged from the hospital and solving little Hiroki's eye problem, you returns to your daily life with him.

Weird stuff still follows you even after coming home. You figures as you see a weird monster out of the corner of your eye.

Apparently, little Hiroki sees it too because you notice him crying everytime weird monsters are in your sights.

"What is happening to us?"

The question plagued your mind.

For four years, you just saw the monsters here and there. You never actually got attacked so you let your guard down eventually which actually was a bad move because you almost got attacked by a weird monster then. But, little Hiroki enveloped you in his barrier just in time. To you, it was a mystery how he could do that. Whenever you asked, he said it was something he knew how to do it since birth even though he still struggled to control it properly.

"Mom, are you alright?"

Little Hiroki asks in a small voice, pulling you out from your inital shock.

"Yes, sweetie. I'm fine."

You said, while ruffling his white locks gently. Little Hiroki smiles and hugs you tighter to your delight.

"I'm going to protect you from weird monsters, mom." He claims.

"Then, I'll be in your care, Hiroki chan." You says with a chuckle.

He is a blessing that came into your life..

You smiles contentedly.

Nanami was just about to jump in and rescue a woman who was about to get attacked by a Grade-2 curse when a little boy with sunglasses pulled her into a hug. If it was only a hug, he would've just brushed it off. What surprised him was that the curse's attacks didn't reach to the mother-son duo.

Like a barrier surrounding them, the curse's attack stopped.

He knew which cursed technique allows the user to manipulate and distort space at will.

Limitless...

A cursed technique inherited within Gojo clan.

So, why would a random child he met on a street have it?

He heard the boy promising his mother that he would protect her from monsters in the future.

He noticed how the boy refered the curses as monsters.

Does he have no knowledge of curses?

Curious, Nanami approached the duo.

"Hi, little one."

He bent down so that his height would be at the kid's eye-level and said.

"Hi."

Hiroki replied quietly as he looked up slightly. Then, he turned to his mom as if he wanted to ask her who this man was.

Blue eyes....

Nanami noticed the blue eyes from the side as soon as little Hiroki turns to face his mother and the white locks his mother was ruffling.

But, what surprised Nanami the most was the blue eyes itself.

Because those eyes were not normal blue eyes.

It was six eyes, a rare ocular Jujutsu inherited within Gojo family.

Limitless and six eyes...

He suddenly recalled a certain senpai from high school.

"Do you have anything to say to us, sir?" The woman asked him.

Still in shock, Nanami thought for a moment before finally saying, "I'll show you something first."

He then turned towards the monster who was trying to breach Limitless and used his cursed energy to finish it off.

"Wow!"

Little Hiroki exclaimed excitedly while the woman seemed surprised.

Nanami studied their expressions a bit and then stated, "Both of you can see curses."

"Curses? Is that what they are?" The woman asked.

"Yes. Do you not know about them?" Nanami asked.

"No. Actually, I have never seen any before in my life. I only started seeing them after giving birth to little Hiroki at the hospital. That's when I realize he could see them too because he would cry whenever one of those things is in our sights." She replied.

"But, I noticed earlier that the attacks didn't reach you. So, seeing those curses aren't the only thing you can do, right?" Nanami turned to little Hiroki.

Little Hiroki gave a small nod. "I think I can make a barrier so that those monsters cannot reach me!" He said excitedly.

"You did well for a kid." Nanami praised him.

"Can you..explain why Hiroki is different and why we could see them? And the thing you did to that..curse?" She asked, hoping to finally find some answers.

Nanami frowned.

How did she not know anything at all?

"Let's start with introductions first. I'm Nanami Kento, an ex-Jujutsu sorcerer." Nanami introduced himself.

She frowned briefly at the word ex-Jujutsu sorcerer, not knowing what that meant but quickly introduced herself, nevertheless.

"I'm (l/n) (f/n) and this is my son, (l/n) Hiroki."

Nanami nodded and started explaining to her,

"So, to answer your question , those monsters you saw are called curses. Normally, people cannot see them. Only people who have cursed energy to a degree can see those curses. And, those people can become Jujutsu sorcerers who exorcise the curses. As for why your son can see them, he was born with high levels of cursed energy. Not only that, he also seemed to have inherited powerful cursed techniques from his father, I assume ,because you mentioned about not being able to see them before."

"cursed technique? and little Hiroki inherited it?"

"Yes."

"Does that mean my dad is a Jujutsu sorcerer like you? Is that why I don't see him, mom?"

Little Hiroki asked curiously.

Nanami noticed color drained from her face at the mention of the kid's father.

Poor kid...

His dad either left them or simply didn't know about his existence.

Nanami sighed and diverted the kid's attention.

"Your name is Hiroki, right? Do you want to train?"

"Train?"

"Yes. You said you want to protect your mom from curses. You need to train in order to do so."

Little Hiroki's eyes sparkled at that as he nodded. "Yes, I want to train with you! Mom, can I?"

"Is it going to be dangerous..?" She asked, worried.

"I will just be guiding him to control his cursed energy so there is no actual danger. But..." He paused, glancing at Hiroki. "You might want to have that conversation in private." He spoke eventually.

She frowned but nodded anyway. "Alright, so..you're going to help Hiroki?"

"Yes."

"Thanks." She said with a smile, "It's just that I have been alone with Hiroki since then and I really didn't what to do except being worried and panicked. This is all new for me...So, I'm really glad that you're going to help him."

Nanami didn't know what to reply. He was someone who did not have a concept of what is worth doing, what is worth living for. Yet, that sincere smile made him feel like he accomplished something even though he had not actually helped them yet.

"How can I contact you, Nanami san? As much as I want to know more about this whole thing, I have to go now..." She said.

Nanami handed her his contact information and she gave him hers.

"Thanks." She said, again.

Just after she left with the little kid, Nanami realized how he quit being a Jujutsu sorcerer, yet, he was now going to train a kid who had Gojo clan's limitless and six eyes.

Appearance of a child with both six eyes and limitless is a huge matter. And he knew that he should be contacting Gojo Satoru about this. But, when he remembered how her face paled at the mention of the kid's father, he felt reluctant to do so.

He would try to have a conversation with her, first.

He said to himself.

Then, he would contact the man.
