Don't Lie To Me

Elena felt terrified by Lorenzo's presence, he looked terrifying, his presence filling the room. She shifted backward as Lorenzo walked closer to her.

Lorenzo could see the fear written all over her face. Good. She needed to know to he wasn't someone she could toy with. She should be scared of him. He stopped in front of her and frowned when he saw the untouched food which was still on the table.

"You didn't eat your food," he said looking back at her.

"I'm not hungry," Elena replied in a shaky voice.

"Stand up," Lorenzo said in a commanding tone. One look at him and Elena knew she had to obey, so she quickly got off the floor.

"Sit down," Lorenzo said, pointing to one of the chairs. Elena quickly obeyed him and went to sit down. Lorenzo pulled out the chair that was opposite her, and he sat down, resting his arms on the table. Elena noticed his knuckles were bruised.

"Who are you? What do you want from me?" Elena asked in a pleading voice.

"I ask the questions around here," Lorenzo said in a scolding tone.

Elena raised her head to look at him; she hadn't had the chance to look at him before because she was too busy trying to escape Carlos' men. He was taller than her, his skin was dark, his icy blue eyes seemed really cold, he was muscular, as she could see his muscles straining out on the shirt he was wearing, he was no longer putting on the suit he had on earlier, her eyes fell on his chest and she gasped when she saw his shirt was stained with blood. Was that what she had in mind? When she looked up again, his icy blue eyes locked onto hers.

"So, are you going to tell me what happened between you and Carlos?" Lorenzo asked her.

"I don't know who you're talking about," maybe if she denied knowing Carlos he would let her go. Wait, what if they were working together? What if he already called Carlos to inform him, that she was here, and now she was being punished for stealing from Carlos?

Lorenzo reached into his breast pocket and pulled out the wallet Elena had stolen from Carlos, and he placed it on the table.

"Yeah, I thought so," Lorenzo said as he saw the look of shame on Elena's face. "Now, I'm going to ask you again, and you had better not lie to me, for your best interest, don't lie to me. I hate lies. Do you understand me?" he said in a serious tone, his eyes demanding an answer from her.

Unable to speak, Elena slowly nodded her head.

"Good." Lorenzo picked up the wallet and opened it, flipping through the dollar bills in it, he looked at her, "you risked your life for this?" He asked her in surprise, wondering why she would risk her life for something so little.

Elena swallowed hard; in her defense, she had expected Carlos to have more money in his wallet, and besides, if her friend was successful in hacking into his bank cards, she was confident they would make a fortune.

"And don't tell me you were planning on hacking his card?" Lorenzo chuckled, "you clearly don't know who Carlos is." He dropped the wallet back on the table. "You stole from Carlos and then you decided to use me to get away from him," Lorenzo suddenly looked angry.

"Please, I'm truly sorry, I never meant to use you. Please just let me go, and I promise you I would never come near you again," Elena pleaded with him.

"It's too late for that honey. What is your name?" Lorenzo asked her, ignoring her plea.

"Beatrice," and the moment the word left Elena's lips, she immediately regretted it. For Lorenzo's eyes immediately became dark. And she quickly blotted out, "Elena, my name is Elena!"

"What did I tell you about lying to me?" Lorenzo asked her in an angry tone.

"I'm... I'm sorry," Elena shifted backward as Lorenzo stood up from his chair, and came around to where she was.

"I would hate to hurt you, honey," he said in a very dark tone.

"Plea... Please..... don't hurt me," Elena pleaded with him as she saw a gun sticking out of his pocket.

"I won't hurt you, honey, if only you will stop lying to me," Lorenzo said, holding her eyes with his.

"I..... won't, I won't lie to you again," she pleaded her whole body shaking.

A small smile played on his lips, "good girl." He leaned his butt against the table, his long legs slightly touching hers.

"Now tell me, who sent you?"

"Sent me?" Elena asked in confusion, he already knows that she is a thief, why was he still asking who sent her?

Lorenzo slightly shook his head, "this is the last time I will warn you, honey, I ask the questions here, and not the other way around."

"I'm sorry," Elena quickly apologized.

"So?" Lorenzo asked, waiting for her to answer his question.

"No one sent me," Elena replied, and she saw Lorenzo didn't seem to believe her, she quickly added, "I'm saying the truth, I wasn't sent by anyone. I don't even know who you are."

Lorenzo leaned back, a shocked expression on his face, "I'm little hurt by that, you don't know who I am?"

"No, I didn't mean....." Lorenzo raised his hands to stop her from talking and Elena quickly shut her mouth.

Lorenzo leaned off the table and started walking away.

"Please let me go, please...." Elena Pleaded.

Lorenzo got to the door and turned to look at her, "I will let you go when I deem it fit. I would suggest you eat your food, if you don't like it, I can have Jorge bring you something else. You must eat something," With that said, Lorenzo opened the door and left, making sure to close and lock it.
