5 C. Five: Fiend’s Rebirth

Yilly still sat by the window, pondering about the missing kids and their whereabouts. He felt angry at himself for letting this happen without him having any slight notices until bedtime. In reaction he tightened his grip on the dusty arm chair and suddenly banged his fist and rose from the seat, furiously bursting out of the locked front door. The blonde haired lady arrived back downstairs too late, as she was met with the seemingly irreplaceable entryway lying in pieces. She gasped and stuck her head out the door to a grunting Lieutenant asserting his men across the thoroughfare.

"Get your damn search unit in order or ima go in there my damn self and smack every last one of em around!" Walker furiously stated with the upmost authority. The search unit scurried together as quick as they could, all yelling out "Yes, sir." to the Lieutenant. "Let's get going, our time is slipping. Find these children. No eating or sleeping until the search is fulfilled. Understand me?" In unison, the unit tipped their cowboy hats to Walker and began marching through the seemingly never-ending forest.

The exhausted kid left in the dark and dense jungle somehow found himself on an abandoned side road, gasping large breaths. In a matter of few seconds, Adam tumbled over in pure drought of energy, which felt like years to him. A feeling of wetness quickly brought him back into his living nightmare, and he was accompanied by unfamiliar faces. "An-Andr", he quietly attempted to utter while awakening. There was a man and woman, both dressed in suits, the man in black, the woman in grey. "It looks like God's strength prevailed again, right Natasha?" the man told his partner. "It sure did!" she replied, covering Dak's drenched chest with a Holy Bible. Reacting in a large yell which startled the two newcomers, Dak threw the Good Book a few feet away from the three.

"Woah woah calm down boy! We're here to help you. We're here to-" "NO", Dak interrupted the kind speaking man. "GET AWAY FROM ME! GET AWAY FROM ME!" he repeated, falling back onto the concrete roads, and slowly descending back into a darker pit of misery as he closed his watered eyes. "You can't stay out here, we'll take you with us." the teary-eyed woman told Dak, glaring at her confused associate. "Let's get going Neko, he clearly needs food and water." "Yes, yes, of course. I'll go start up the car. Try to pick him up gently Tasha" he replied, racing back towards their automobile. "Kid, you're protected with us, we'll get you food, any food you want. We'll get you anything you want to drink. Just stay calm okay?" "Where are...you taking..." "To Kirk. You'll be under more protection of God. Listen to me, I won't ask you any questions if it makes you uncomfortable. Understand we're good peop-" "Okay." Dak once again interrupted Natasha, closing his eyes once more in her soft arms. Natasha let out a breath of relief, and turned her head back towards Neko, who smiled at her from the car's foggy windows.

During those events, deep back in the forest, the  75 troops continued their somewhat immeasurable investigation. Yilly felt no desire to slow down, while the members of his unit felt the need to relinquish. "Keep pushing. We've only been at it for 9 hours, if ya can't survive here ya can't survive anywhere I tell ya." the dominant lieutenant asserted over his men. "Look Lieutenant, we didn't stop and think to bring extra cans of water, at least give us a minute to breathe." "Weak, all of ya. Why did ya sign up, huh? Ya think there would only be problems within our little city didn't ya? Well that's not what those papers ya damn signed ya dit! Get movin" Walker told the complaining officer, while jacking him up and shoving him to the ground. "Y'all are a damn search unit, not a kindergarten class." "Yes, sir." they all replied, following in his marching footsteps. Everyone but the one he threw on the ground. "I gotcha" a woman said as she helped lift her suddenly frozen partner up. "Thanks" "No problem. Now let's follow orders. We have children to find." she tenderly  told him as he dusted himself off.

The walkie talkie suddenly disrupted Walker's search. The static rumbled in his pocket, which made him furiously take it out. "Who is it. What happened." "WE FOUND THE GIRL!" an unidentifiable voice yelled out through the transceiver. "WE'RE BY THE RIVERBEDS, I REPEAT BY THE RIVERBEDS!" Walker's unit all gazed towards the astonished but cheerful Lieutenant. "Take care of her. Give her the food and water quick. We're on our way. Over." Yilly stated with a smile on his face. "Let's get going to the riverbeds everyone. Now!" "Yes, sir."

In the back of the rusty grey vehicle lied a sleeping Dak, resting comfortably on a mix of pillows and blankets. "So what do you think about him." "What do you mean?" "I don't know, he kinda did launch our holy scripture like he was skipping rocks." "You know, we don't have to be negative Neko. We found a child all alone, let's make him feel at home." Natasha told Neko, as he sped pass the local cemeteries. "Yea you're right, I want to understand him more though, you know? Like his interests and what makes him tick." "Not just yet okay? Let's just be there for him. We'll ask all of that when he feels comfortable enough baby." "Okay. We've almost arrived." Neko smilingly said, with Tasha giving back one in return.

A spark of fear grew inside of the adolescent child, which woke him from his sleep. His eyes gaped open, and in reaction jerked his head up and looked around. "Woah woah, you're safe with us. We're just going to get you cleaned up and make you some warm food." "Okay. Sorry." Dak replied, gripping onto his dirt littered sweats. In their direct path awaited the pure white house of God, with a statue of the One Above All's child with open arms awaiting for the trio's arrival. The more they reached closer and closer every second to their destination, the more antsy and fearful Dak grew. It felt like minutes were going by so slowly as the boy was being swallowed with emotion, more negative emotion than ever before. Both Natasha and Neko gazed upon the anguished child, both feeling useless in their abilities. "Hey, dont worry. We're straight ahead oka" In a split second, the car folded within itself, creating an abnormal bawl. The tires quickly meshed into nothing but pure rubber scattered everywhere. No sound escaped but the vicious noise of the motor blowing, creating an immense explosion of blaze. Smog rapidly hovered the accident and spread like ants. Not one soul was around to witness this horrific mishap, but one did survive this crash.

A limb numbed Dak somehow escaped the tragedy with only major cuts across his small body. Weeping in absolute pain as he pushes himself further and further away from the flaming crash, his body gave in, and as he turned his head around to look at calamity he thought was caused by himself. He finally fully gave in, resting upon the roads once again. In a matter of seconds, blaring trumpet sounds from above railed his mind, causing Dak to wail with his veins pulsating with a deep red shade. As he glared upon the sky in much more pain, the trumpets seemed to go on for eternity, but in reality it was only seven seconds. Once these seven seconds concluded, the already withered Dak experienced a evocation of events he has never been in crashing into his adolescent memory bank. From catastrophic views  to aesthetically pleasant ones, they all gathered upon his mind in one go, causing him to go into a temporary coma.

Back over by the riverbeds during the seven second alarm, all units in unison gazed up into the heavens and all thought of the same thing. The rapture. But only one person let out a word, Lieutenant Walker. "We have to get the other units together! Quick!" he told his men, pointing towards the downward flowing streams. "Yes, sir!" They replied together, continuing their quest to meet the two other search units. Within a few minutes, they were met by the Riverbed unit, accompanied by Kay, who lied in an officer's arms fast asleep. "The girl, is she doin fine?" Walker asked, softly caressing her hair. "She's tired. We found her in bushes. And she's very warm, almost above one hundred degrees Fahrenheit sir." "Wow. We have to get her back there ASAP ya hear." "Didn't ya hear way came from the sky" "Yea I heard them. Locate the other unit, we'll build a camp and take care of the girl while you guys are away." "Yes, sir." they replied, scurrying to find their seemingly lost partners.

Walker and his men created their camp in the six tree circle, which was captured by the pure light is the sun. The lieutenant lied the sleeping Kay next to a shaded tree, letting out a sigh of relief. "This world is crazy" he thought to himself. "Marci, come over and keep your eyes on Kay for me." "Of course Lieutenant." the never-tired officer replied with a large smile. Yilly put his hand on her back and told her "there's still two out there, and we'll get to them. That's my promise." "Yes, sir. I have been thinking constantly about maybe-" "No. Stay positive Marci. You're my eternal soldier. And I love you for it." "Thank you, sir. Always here to help." she kindheartedly said, inching closer to Kay. Walker nodded and headed toward the others.

Hours pass by, with the dawn setting appearing in the sky. Hours of slumber were collected by the little Kay, which didn't bother the unit at all. The second search unit were still on the look for the others. "Ms.Stacy, it's almost time for supper. It's only if you want some." Marci told the stretching and yawning Kay. "Where...where..." "Andre? Dak? Well honey, we still haven't got any info about their whereabouts baby. I'm sorry." "Andre is dead." Kay wailingly told her. Everyone turned back toward Kay and wore a stunned reaction on their faces. "You said what? You said-" "He's gone...i saw him get killed with my own eyes..." the steadily crying girl interrupted. "We have to go save Dak...I don't know where he is...we have to find him..." Walker quickly made his way to Kay, for down on one knee and asked her, "Tell me everything right now, ya hear?"
