10 Something I Did

Three days had passed and the pellet inside my body turned more real unlike its transparent appearance from before.

"With a bit more I'll be entering the initial stage of Pellet Forming soon."

Cultivators could be divided by their stages. We had the following stages: The Pellet Forming, Pellet Transformation, Core Condensation, Rotation, Revolution and lastly, Heaven Forming. Furthermore, excluding the Rotation and Revolution stages, each stage consists of three subdivides: Initial, Middle and Final Stages. As for the Rotation and Revolution stages, they were only divided by two: Small Accomplishment and Great Accomplishment.

I stood from my bed as I gazed upon the light creeping through the window. From the direction the rays, I believed it to be some time at noon. Wondering what I should do next my stomach grumbled.

"I guess it's that time. I'll look for something in the kitchen."

I gave my body a stretch as the stiffness went away. I went out of my room as I set out for the kitchen. As I got closer to my destination, a whiff of smell lingered around my nostrils. Sniffing caused my appetite to whet. My nose wrinkled and mouth salivated. My stomach grumbled even further. I hurried my footsteps and found myself at the front door. I took a big gulp as I slid the door open in a brash manner. What greeted me was the image of Mom wearing apron with a knife on her hand cutting some slice of meat.

"Strange. I must be dreaming. Mom can't be in the kitchen."

I furiously refused the thought in my head. As I was questioning reality, a looming shadow approached as a ferocious attack was aimed at my head.

"Gyaah! Mom, why did you hit me."

Billowing smoke rose up as a small hill appeared from the savannah. I looked up only to see a pair of eyes reflecting infinite ice as they were piercing through my whole body as if I was bare. Uncontrollable shivers ran through my spine as I backed away a step away from danger.

"Your intuition is good. You know danger when you see one."

"I don't have to have intuition to know when your angry.", I mumbled as I looked away.

"…Good. But not smart."

Danger approached as a deadly hand swiftly came to my face as it landed a fierce strike to my noggin. Waves of pain rushed as I covered my forehead suppressing it.

"So, you feeling hungry? I am cooking food right now for you and your Dad as you know you he rarely comes home."

"Mmm. What are you making Mom?"

"Something simple. It's sweet sauce on strips of duck meat mixed with vegetables."

"Sweet. Dad's favorite."

"Why don't you go call your father as I finish things here."

"Okay."

I scrambled away leaving Mom with her cooking.

...

"Dad."

I found Dad at his usual spot. He was in his study. As always, I saw him with a book while leaning on his chair.

"Mom made food. She's calling for us."

"Mm. We shouldn't let her wait then."

He closed the book he was reading and placed it on his desk. He placed his hand on left shoulder as we went on our way.

"Dad."

"Hmm?"

"Where's Uncle?"

"Your Uncle?"

"Mmm. It's been a few days since I've last saw him. When I went to his room, I was blocked by Fen'er before I could've even come in. Did something happen?"

As my head was filled with thoughts, Dad patted my head as he pushed it down.

"Nothing's wrong. Your Uncle just went on a journey. He said something about being affected by your youthful fever before heading out."

"It's not something I did, right?"

"…Let's hurry along. The food's getting cold."
